2. Hi Guys, Up for sale (possibly trade) here is my ACG Finn SC Classic 4 strings. Its the 37th Bass made by Alan and the 1st of this particular kind. It's simply an amazingly well crafted and beautiful bass with bags of tonal possibilities and looks to die for. The bass is in perfect mint condition, I did go over it very carefully and I cannot see a single blemish anywhere on it anywhere, not even a hint of buckle rash... there are no marking at all on this! It may as well be new. It is a Custom spec level ACG bass, it's a 4 string 34" scale bass with a 5 piece body made from stripy ebony/sycamore/wenge/sycamore/stripy ebony. The neck is a 7 piece made from mac ebony/sycamore/wenge/sycamore/wenge/sycamore/mac ebony. The fret board is perfect and plays beautifully, its an acryilic impregnated flame sycamore board with mac ebony binding. The pickups are 2 ACG RFB pickups with an ACG EQ01 pre-amp, this combination gives you amazing tonal possibilities, the ACG pre-amps are known for their tonal range, with the ability to tweak and expand certain frequencies to basically give you what ever sound and vibe you want. The tuners are Hipshot ultralite with a hipshot D-tuner fitted on the E string, though I will be including the original tuner so you can remove it if you want. The bridge is a Hipshot A type bridge, high mass and very solid. The bass is finished with an oil rub giving it a beautiful sheen. The bass comes with a custom fitted Hiscocks hardcase, again in mint condition and made specifically for this bass. There are the 2 locking keys in the case as well as the original tuner and also a set of Jim Dunlop strap locks. All in all this is a mint condition ACG custom bass with all the trimmings for sale at a fraction of the cost of a new one, with no wait and an amazing combination of beautiful woods. I'm selling this purely because I took it in trade, and as much as I love ACG's, I play 7 string bass and a 4 string just isn't enough for me! So it's on offer here to you guys. I'm on 07912222127so call if you have any questions at all, and I'm based in Wickford in Essex, viewing is welcome and collection is preferred though I can post if needed. TRADE DETAILS: The sale is set a £900 cash for the bass, the case, the strap locks and the additional tuner. I want to get at least £400 cash from this bass, so if you want to trade I'd want cash, plus a bass worth £500 at least. I'm open to options, so let me know what you got! The photos below are a combination of ACG stock photos, and ones I took this morning. The ones with the black background are stock, the rest are my photos from today! Russ. 4. 5-10 days or so. I will write a non bias review hopefully with some vids as well, so if its crap then I will certainly say so! Fingers crossed its gunna be a little gem of a find!
5. Hey man, well the total price including a hardcasecand shipping from the states was £575. So I guess you'd just need to minus the difference between the cost of a K7 and a K5. I'd guess it would be £480 or so including shipping and a hardcase.
6. I have a beautiful 6 string that I am looking at moving on. If you have cash to put towards it then maybe a part ex could be arranged...
7. That is a damn good price, and truthfully a little tempting as I had a spec euro 6 and sold it a year or so ago... Andy you do pose many tempting offers...
8. Yes it does, it is an amazingly well carved instrument, really a true masterpiece of an instrument. Shame theres minimal interest!
9. Yeah man I will definitely write a review as soon as I've got it in hand and played it for a bit! Watch this space...
10. I have an awesome 6 string for sale dude, an absolute beauty in the for sale section. It's a Les Evans custom. I know your a 5 string guy, but if you fancy stepping up to 6, let me know!
11. BUMP. No interest in this at all? I'm surprised. It's literally one of the nicest 6 strings going... Trade plus cash options considered. C'mon guys!
12. Well a lot of our stuff require a B string, our guitarist play a John Petrucci Custom 7 string guitar, so it makes sense to have a B on bass. I play a fair bit of tappy type stuff as well, hence the 10 string etc. so with a 7 string, most if not all songs I tap on can be bounced down to a 7. So with a 7 string, I find myself not needing to change basses over and over again. I have one 7 tuned standard, and one tuned D and with that we're all good!
13. It will be tuned B to F as that is what I need to play what we play. It should be getting shipped out today... cant wait!
14. I know right? The prices are stupidly low... they are Korean licensed products by all accounts with licensed Armstrong pups and licensed hipshot bridge pieces etc but the pre is all bass mods in house and the fully set them up with a plek machine too. I'll be sure to let people know about this thing in great detail!
15. Hi guys, After deliberating with my current 6 string basses, I have concluded I am offically a 7 string player and as such I bought a backup 7 string, it's a K7 Bass Mods. Take a look guys, let me know you're vibes. Anyone got any experiance wsith these things?? Any ideas of quality and sound? I took a punt because it only cost me £575 including a hardcase and shipping to the UK, so it seems worth it. The guys over the pond on TalkBass seems to give it the thumbs up, just wondering if there are any UKers that know about these beasts? Considering I ordered it already, I guess asking for input is a step too late, but still, i am intregued! Russ.
16. Hey Guys, It’s with a bit of a heavy heart that I must move this on... Its truly one of the best basses I've owned, an absolute masterpiece and about as rare as a rare thing gets. This is a 6 string Les Evans custom bass with an Olivewood body, Ebony fret board and Bubinga back. It has a John East 18v pre amp with 2 EMG soap bar pickups, the bridge is a Warwick 2 piece and the controls are a joy to work with, pumping out deep dark thunderous lows and crisp clean highs. The condition of the bass is excellent; no notable knocks or dents anywhere to be seen. The action is low, but you could get it lower if you want. The nut is fully adjustable, you can lower the height of the strings at the nut which makes for a very easily adjustable bass, and obviously it can be done via the bridge as well. This bass has been repeatedly referred to as "Fodera Quality" and is does very much deserve that title, the build of this bass is nothing short of outstanding. The carvings are just beautiful with recessed knobs, abalone side inlays, and hours of time spent shaping the unique style of the body, something I actually feel surpasses Fodera. Of course you are welcome to come and try this bass if you want; I'm based in Wickford, in Essex and am on 07912222127. My trade options are simple, Ideally I want all cash for this bass, however, I would be prepared to listen to trade option so long as I get at least £600 cash. I would do a deal for £600 cash and a bass to the value of £800, or something very close to that. I'm fairly open to trade options, below are a few options...

Music Man Stingray 5 string
Fender J or P 5 string
Anything Spector or Warwick (preferably 5 or 6 string)
Possibly anything 6 string
Anything else, TRY ME!!!
Also, see below a comment made by another basschatter regarding this bass... (Hope it’s OK to use this!) "I have no affiliation with the seller but having played this when Les had it in for service a few years back I can say with confidence that this bass is simply stunning. I don't think Les is building anymore but, having owned three Les Evans basses I'd have to say that they are on a par with anything I've ever played. The build quality is superb and his eye for detail (look at the fingerboard, the partial recessing of the control knobs etc.) elevated some of his builds to works of art. I also had the same combination of EMGs and East preamp (looks like a u-retro?) on a couple of the basses Les made for me and they sounded lovely. On this occasion the claim of Fodera league build quality is not seller's hyperbole - this bass is worth every penny of the seller's asking price and I would humbly suggest it might actually represent something of a bargain. I know I sound like I'm going over the top but when I saw this is Les's workshop I must have spent about ten minutes just looking at it before it even occurred to me to play it! This will make someone a very, very happy bunny." (Just as a note, the price the author of the above comment is referring to was £1750, as that was what the previous seller advertised the bass at, I am asking £1350) Please ask any questions at all, feel free to get in touch, come view the bass etc. etc. Let me know dudes! 17. Goddammit.... the only one of these pass-it-on things i had an interest in and its goes and gets nicked!
18. The bridge is a bit of a curiosity... If the bass was made and designed from a flat level bridge, would installing a bridge at an angle not throw off the intonation?
19. No interest in trades?? It doesnt state a yay or a nay either way on that one...
20. I would love this beast, it's exactlyy type of bass and would sit proudly in my collection, alas I think it will probably not be mine
21. I'll pretty much take any half decent offer on these as I wont ever use them so they might as well go!
22. Hi guys, I have a pair of barely used Squier Jazz Pickups from a Vintage Modified Jazz Bass. They are surplus and I only want £20 for the pair plus say £2 postage. The picture is 'stock' but mine obviously look identical... Seems fair I think. Each pickup has a decent amount of wire, and the both look pretty much as new. I'm on 07912222127 if you want to discuss anything. Russ.
