5.
A newly signed up BCer (like yesterday) based in Latvia contacted me last night enquiring about the GT6B I have for sale on here. In theory I have no major objection with shipping it to him, or anywhere else in the EU. He is aware of the extra costs involved (still looking at actual prices), obviously I'll receive payment before shipping and I'll make sure there is adequate insurance. I see many examples of people who won't ship abroad. What are the pitfalls? What are your experiences? Rich.
I work for a shipping company and we have lots of arguements with customers who expect to ship high value high risk items oversease for a tenner. The fact is that to properly insure your goods and ship them at reasonable cost we have to accept liability for subcontract delivery and collection services at your end and at the buyers end and in transfer which works out expensive for stuff which can be damaged easily. Cost is one 1 issue bit you need to make sure you trust the buyer first as theres a big potential for fraud and you cant necesarily check the bueyrs credentials 1st or chase him down if hes a scammer. Make sure he pays by bank transfer or paypal with confirmed address and only ship to the confirmed address. PS Im not saying your buyer is a scammer but if he mentions sending company cheque or western union then be a bit worried
 6.
This question has been asked before and never had a satisfactory answer....in fact,...as far as I know, never had an answer,...so can those that describe Ashdown cabs as sounding wooly....describe "wooly",....c'mon surely you know what you mean, I don't, so enlighten me. (and others)
Indistinct midrange and a low end that isnt "tight", tends to distort and compress when not pushed that far and loses any dynamics. Thats my experience of ABM and MAG stuff but my superfly gives a better defined and clearer sound from top to bottom.
 7.
At my local bass shop there's a Eden Nemesis 650 for sale with a 2x10" & 1x15" cab (not sure which, but also Eden). I obviously am going to try it out before I buy it, but I was hoping if there are people around with experience with these amps.
Can't comment on the cabs but used to own the same head. It's very flexible and can go from being very clean but still warm through to a nice valvey emulation which is quite convincing and better than the same sort of emulation on EBS amps. The built-in limiter is a bit annoying and takes some time to get use to as its associated with the gain control. Its only 400w at 4 ohm though, built very well but a bit heavy. Footswitch for Enhance control is very useful to get instant scoop tone.
 8.
Hi Do you have a BIN on the Wah? is that a 105Q?
Those pickups don't fit too well do they?

 10.
Seriously, it works. You can't even feel it. (The forearm thing)
That was Stevie Ray Vaughan's trick. But he was so coked up he probbaly couldn't feel it.
 11. Bought an Ashdown Superfly from Jack, no problems and a fast easy trade. Cheers mate
 12. This is horrible when people have to travel thousands of miles to find some sort of security. I work for an overseas shipping and transportation specialist who frequently arrange intercontinental house moves if that's any help to you, I'd be glad to arrange a preferential treatment for a fellow bassist
 13.
soooo, i was given a laney RB3 amp the other day it was found in somebodys garage. heres the problem. when i plug it in to the mains and switch it on it makes a huge pop noise then just makes the normal humming noise but when i plug a bass in theres completely nothing but it cant be the connection between the head and speaker as im getting the humming ive tried differen cables to make sure its not that. does any body have any idea what it could be? any help will be really apprieciated cheers
If you've been given an amp from a garage, did you wonder why it was there in the first place? Huge pops and humming sometimes mean the big mains smoothing capacitors have become dried out or have broken connections from the mainboard or are shorting. Take it to a good amp technician because it could be dangerous if you don't know what its background is.

 17. Hello bass brothers, I'm Steve from Hertfordshire, started playing late in life and am still learning, pretty much a living room player with a Yamaha TRB 1004 and 1005 and a nice little MarkBass 210 combo. Play mainly rock, metal and blues and sometimes slap very badly. Look forward to nattering with you all
