A couple of demos I cobbled together at home - they've yet to get the full band treatment..... JV - P How much? Maybe I should put mine up?
That one does have the Fender logo though, which are supposedly rarer than yours with the Squier logo. See one (or a pair) for sale here for £1200 also: http://basschat.co.u...azz%20precision
True but does that really make it double+ (??guessing??) the price (particularly with non-original scratchplate) ??? -
If that JV sells for that I shall eat my pants. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a742cb74a Edit: and the scratchplate does not look original to me - it's too red and only 3 ply Mine is browner and 4 ply and i know mines original coz I bought it new.
Now, if he was saying 'I find that some Musicman basses have really loud E and A strings and quiet/flat D and G stings' then I'd be agreeing.
Same would be true of Fenders IMHE
Kinda reminds me of a shop in Watford, a few years ago they used to have the walls filled with some pretty decent guitars and basses. Now they have one bass and about 10 guitars, all of which are pretty damn awful, apart from one ibanez, which is way overpriced. shame really, my lunch breaks used to be awesome in that place, so busy, now it's dead, I went for the first time to buy strings and found out that infact, that's pretty much all they sell..
Hooters?

Sounds fun to jam...
, why can't the guy put his own name on the bass he made?
Do you think I should put 'Gibson' on the basses I make? I think someone might not like that either esp as they are Fenderalike basses
sounds great - was it fun?
Yeah it was fun in a somewhat stressful way. (some promoters have a lot to learn ) It is bizarre to be sat in an office one day and be playing a gig in foreign parts the next, to a load of punters who know all the words to the songs and are going mental in front of you.

My second Warmoth build - finished...with teething troubles
Twigman replied to Twigman's topic in Build Diaries
was it not worth fitting a decent preamp to your PJ to revive it?

Or getting a beefier bridge pickup?
Probably on both counts........ I just enjoyed the process of making the bass and wanted to do it all again. I am still going to change the bridge pup in the PJ for a humbucker (prob Nordy twin coil) and experiment with the wiring a bit - I read somewhere that putting a cap in series with the pup . I suspect it'll be out of action a while while I play with it.....and (excuse) now I love playing my Jazz neck I have to have another to play while i sort out the PJ's problems. I tried playing the JV precision again the other day and wonder how I managed with such a wide neck for so long. -

A couple of bits arrived this morning. -
If Fender stuck Jazz necks on Precision bodies I'd be more inclined to get one. That's why I built a Warmoth instead.

Played Forte La Carnale in Salerno, Italy on Saturday. 350-400 paying punters @ €15 a pop - not bad This is a very live room - we had trouble with guitar feedback and onstage mixes........ We went out with the promoter on Friday night and turned in around 2.30am.....Saturday, soundchecked at 6.00pm and on stage at around 12.20am on Saturday night, played for over 2 hours and got back to the hotel around 4.30-5.00am....then flew home last night....still knackered tonight Back to normal life tomorrow.
I think just the right level of zoning out really optimises my playing, but if I zone out too much I can lose track of what I'm doing!
and if you concentrate too much you screw up...or at least I do

Anyone ordered from basspartsresource.com ??
Twigman replied to Twigman's topic in General Discussion
I paid $35 delivery (insured trackable USPS) for some Fender RI Vintage reverse tuners (much cheaper in US than here) , a PBass pickup (much cheaper in US than here) , a neck plate and various bits of other small hardware. Currently the package is in Chicago -
Happen to know what the amp is in the pic? Looks kinda like the Thor I sold to Rose Kemp. Kinda wished I'd had a look inside it first, they are very rare.
Just spoken to Jack. It is a Thor that he bought from a chap in Brighton that apparently came from a bunch that were discovered in an industrial unit in Milton Keynes a while ago. The cab is a Soundcity
