    As I have pointed out several times before, if i ask Mrs ET to name any bass players, she will always respond with ... 'Is it Duck Duckerson? ... and carry on with the rest of her life..

    My father didn't have a clue. If it had strings he called it a banjo ... 'are you playing your banjo tonight?' he woudl say to me as I put my bass into its case. If you had to blow into it he called it a trumpet ... 'it's a terrible noise when you blow in that trumpet' he would say as I learned the harmonica. Name ten bass players? He couldn't name one instrument correctly. He wasn't stupid he just wasn't interested. And nonetheless he was a talented ballroom dancer.

Complete with original cardboard box, user's guide booklet, and little red stickers for marking your favourite settings.

    A few questions. Is this still available? If not please ignore the other questions. Is the finish satin not gloss? Is the neck also satin. Is the trussrod adjustment at the headstock not the neck heel? What strings are on it? What gigbag are you including? Thanks.

    Having measured again in daylight, using a steel rule rather than a tape measure, and Mrs ET's eyes rather than my own eyes ... ... it does seem to be 17.5mm.

    My 2002ish Crafted in Japan is 19mm. EDIT ... but see below for the remeasure at 17.5mm.

    Thanks for that. My eyesight is not what it was but the joints definitely look not touching/joined to my eyes. However, when I re-attached the plate initially the problem was gone! But I then discovered I could get the problem to re-occur if I wiggled the volume pot. So presumably, even though they look not touching or joined when the plate is off, they are close enough to make contact when the vol pot is wiggled against the screwed down plate. If so, I need to resolder those two joints, keeping them apart. Is that likely to be correct?
