6.
Come on chaps! Really don't want to Ebay this bass, me and Ebay don't get on!!
Still going? I Might have sold my gear this weekend and I would be interested.
7. For sale here is a Tanglewood Warrior II electric bass guitar, with a natural Brown-stained wood finish. The bass has a few dints and scratches but plays brilliantly, I recently had it set up by Gordon White at single coil in Leeds. Once I had it set up the different between the stock setup and the professional set up was huge. The set up alone cost 40 pound + Strings. The neck is really straight and a low action with no fret buzzes. The bass is really heavy which is great for those you like a solid quality feeing instruments. Although this bass is a cheap price there is nothing cheap about it and I can safely say its easily one of the best used bass you will find under £200. I'm a bit sad to see it go for just £80 but I need it towards my new bass. Contact [email protected] 01282868770 Email is best. Thanks Joel
8.
Ok, I understnd the sentiment, really I do, KISS and all that, and new strings are very important for a good bass sound, decent kit played well is a must too.
Yeah theres loads more to it but what im saying is the basics of the chain is important.
9. This all seems to have got carried away. If i've learn anything recording is so so simple Good equipment and techniques = Good sound theres no magic going on. Good player -> Good Bass -> New strings -> Good DI -> Good AD Converters -> Hardrive. = Nice sound You take one of these elements away and its going to go down hill. Once you have a nice clean DI then your amp sims and VST are going to sound good and the sayings are "You cant polish and turd" and "Garbage in in garbage out". If you havent got a good bass in the first place then thats what you should fix. Thats chain neeeds to be the best it can because a amp sim and eq's arent the place to go. EQ is for fixing things but you don't have to fix it if you get it right it the first place. Plugings are a fad just used in the wrong way by so many people.
10. If your in the newest logic 9! Flex is your friend for this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSALHq4eIPE Recycle is also good but involes going out the DAW then back into the DAW and having to bounce the tracks twice but with flex you can do it all within the DAW . Theres a few different algorithms to choose from just pick the one that sounds best to your ears. Also most with most DAW you can now time strech by holding command and draging the end of the audio track longer or shorter. If you have choosen the right algorithm for the job and your not slowing it down by to much it shouldnt effect the quilty too much.
11. Softube Bass amp room is easly the best and most realistic out there. IK Amplitube is pretty nice too at a great price. http://softube.se/bass_amp_room.php I think I must have tryed everyone on the market and nothing stands upto Softube and IK. With softube you can really dig into the notes and hear the model of the tube cunch I would say IK has a simular vibe but more clean and mordern sounding and modeld from different unit from to softube wich give a different result.
12. Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 is hands down best value for money. I've had the big brother the pro 40 and I have also been on most interfaces in it price range as well as using high end converters like the Avid HD192. Don't waste your time with a mixer or PCI. The main thing your looking for is a nice preamp into some nice converters. I wount go beringer at all focusrite have been making high end preamp for years so when it comes to budget they know what there cutting on price and lately they seem to be getting into High end converters like the rednet. You don't gain anything from going out of the box to a desk in this price range so your best with a all in one box. If you cant afford the pro 25 get the pro 10 usb with 4 ins and outs I wouldn't put my money on anything else in this price range. After that any software program is fine as all you are doing is source-preamp-converters-Hardrive. If you are new to recording dont get into all the hype of DAW's sound different because they don't but I would highly recommend Reaper for its work flow. I the past I have been through every DAW and reaper and protools work flow is best I have come across.
13. I can highly recommend the Focusrite pro 40. I have used most interfaces in its price range and also have used high end converters like the the Avid HD 192. To be honest I wouldn't put my cash on anything else in that price range. With the pro 40 you also get 8 ADAT in and out as well if you ever want to add another preamp and have 16 ins and outs. I have never had a problem with it and Focusrite are always fast on software upgrades and customer service. The work flow is hard to understand at first because of the very flexible routing which allows you to take any input and send it to any output pre DAW. Focusrite have provided many videos on this. Also the loop back features is a amazing been able to record anything from any sound source on your computer eg. Youtube. Straight to your DAW. The sound of the preamps are also nice for the price range not giving out as much noise as some of the products that try compete with it I could go on forever about this product so if you have any questions just ask.

The MAG 300H head features a potent fan-cooled 307-watt RMS power section. Rotary bass, middle, and treble controls are supplemented by smaller rotary controls—providing 15dB of cut and boost at 220Hz and 1.6kHz and effectively creating a comprehensive 5-band EQ section. Additionally, front panel push switches for Bright and Deep settings provide instant access to attacking and warm, rounded sounds, respectively. On the subject of low-end response, the trademark Ashdown sub-harmonic generator is willing and able to deliver truckloads of earth-moving tone if called upon.
