7.
MB1. ...Youre link doesnt work! Your after lighter gear than this or smaller gear still? BUMP!
The link did work, but you needed to be a friend of the person who's profile page it was on, and I didn't think about that I've uploaded it to Youtube and adjusted the link accordingly. Cheers for the shout out on that! Why am I selling? I just like the idea of a more modular system, and yes a bit lighter. I really like the setup I have, but I have to use a practice amp as well and in my weird unlogical world that's just too much The Ibanez Promethean is appealing because it's a small lightweight combo good for practice and small gigs. Coupled with an extension cab it becomes a 500 watt small stack. Remove the head and it becomes useable with anything! That is very appealing to me. Plus I am in talks with Paul (Prose Bass) about a custom ergonomic bass build to make my setup smaller and more back friendly. I have a very bad back from a seizure a few years ago. That's it really. Thanks for the bump
8. *First off, the LG1000 head has been sold to Bassman in Belgium* Up for grabs is an Ashdown Superfly 48 Neo cabinet. There's a brief video clip here of me using the setup giving you some idea of tone etc: The Superfly 48 Neo Cab: I can't state enough just how good this cab is, it's built like a tank and capable of handling tone very well. The cab is designed as two '2x8' cabs run together with each side running at 4ohms. This means if you pair it with the Superfly Head, or the LG1000 head you can get the full power from each head from the cab. The size is very good and portable, more so than a 4x10 say. I can quite easily do a trip from the car in one go with bass on one shoulder, gig bag on the other and cab in hand (the recessed side handles are well placed). Has a few small scuffs on the corners as you would expect from gig use. This is however very superficial - the rest of the cabinet is immaculate. Pricing: For the Ashdown 48 Neo Cab I'm asking £299 collected (no postage). I'm more than happy to meet anyone part way on collection if it helps sale, but I would expect fuel costs to be covered. I'm happy to drive about an hour (ish) each way from postcode BB2 (Blackburn). Payment would be either Paypal or cash on collection. Questions more than welcome. Cheers for looking

18. Just stumbled across this, David Holt performance with MM on bass. Enjoy.
19. I'm interested in the head but the not the cab, as I have one already... if you split now you've sold both items with Faceman who wants the cab I can cover postage etc... PM me with a price *go on, you know you want too*
20. I have the Superfly 48 cab with the LG1000 head - like the LG head, the cab is split into two with each side running at 4 ohms. This means that you can get the full power from the SF head or LG head (with the exception of the LG350 which is bridged at a 4ohm output). The LG heads do need to be driven very hard though to get the full power they claim - and I mean hard!. Also, volume is perceptual and while I can get the full 1000 watts into a 4x8 cabinet, it's not as loud as a combination of cabinets and speakers moving more air. So the solution I have is light and portable, but nowhere near as loud perceptually as a Markbass CMD121 combo I had. The build quality on the LG heads are very suspect too.
21. EUB's while convenient, they are no substitute for the real deal! Cheap EUB's are just that... cheap. They will not get you the sound of a URB, even though they emulate, to some extent at least, the feel of an URB. To get a really good convincing URB tone from an EUB, you need to invest considerable amounts of money..... thinks 1000's of pounds! Quite often people buy cheaper model EUB's and end up spending vast amounts of money again getting them to play right, which defeats the object really. Not all EUB's are bad though... it really depends on your expectations and ambitions. I've you're deadly serious about learning upright, then play the real thing... no ifs or buts! But, if you understand that a cheap EUB is a fancy fretless bass that 'sort of' emulates the URB, then something like the Palatino or Stagg are not bad starting points. But even these will need further investment to get them reasonably playable. Spend a bit more money and the NS WAV4 or Aria SWB are good choices, or even an imported Ergo would be excellent. If you have lot's of money then a Framus or high end NS is the way to go. Good luck... it's a bloody minefield
