1. 12kg could conceivably be the shipping weight if it comes with a hard case and a few house-bricks.
 2.
Seriously though, it's a pointless feature now you can't smoke anywhere...
Pretty useful if you can charge your mobile from it while you play.
 3. If it had one more string I'd keep it.
 4. ***SOLD*** ***SOLD*** ***SOLD*** This is in very good nick. It's served me well over the years but the Graft Recurve has usurped it as my fretted 4-string of choice, so it's off! Thick, meaty, aggressive sound. Kind of like a 2EQ StingRay, but... not. IIRC, the pickup's wired in series, rather than parallel as in the "real" Ray. Active, 2-band EQ, battery lasts for ages. Just a few very, very light knocks on the headstock; you can see the worst on the "point" of the headstock, and it's not even through to the wood. You could run a black marker over it and no one would be any the wiser. I'm looking for [s]£380 delivered in the UK[/s] ***SOLD***, including Kinsman hardfoam case just like this one and a big cardboard box with lots of padding. No trades, thanks! Please note that since I took these pictures, I've put the pickguard back on (easy to get off again if you don't like it), along with the original strap buttons. Oh, and it's now got a set of lightly-used medium DR Sunbeams on (45-105). I've given it a quick setup and lemon-oiled the board, and it's playing really nicely. It's now not as dusty as it is in the pictures either.
 5. Will it run at 2 ohms?
 6.
Clark Terry / Red Mitchell - It Don't Mean A Thing : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOWaUR6ta0c&NR=1
I love the way Clark Terry is trying to play while simultaneously grinning from ear to ear when he comes back in after Red Mitchell's solo in the middle of that clip. Fantastic.
 7. This is the Heritage thingie that's limited to 50 units worldwide at $5k each, right? I don't see the point in even attempting to promote this. Especially by spamming.
 8. Just to add to the Heavy-Duty mayhem... with this stuff I always use the hook side on the board and the fuzzy/loop side on the pedals. Why? Because if I put the hook side on my pedals, and I put a pedal down on the carpet... I'll rip chunks out of the carpet weave trying to pick it up again.
 9. My guess is that it took a very sharp, heavy blow to a jack plugged into it, which fractured a whacking great chunk of wood off the front as the jack socket got slammed and twisted. Looks like someone's later tried to cover it up by screwing a control plate on, but they've given that up as a bad job. This bass is haunting my thoughts.
 10.
Or a Status Energy?
Did they do headless ones?
 11.
Is this stuff really any better?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and a thousand times yes. Different league. Pedaltrain Velcro: open case, pedals everywhere. Heavy-Duty Velcro: open case, pedals where you left them. It's that simple. I'd happily turn my board upside down and shake it with the Heavy-Duty stuff on.
 12.
Oh really? I've some (guitar) pedals as well, so was planning to change things about. The velcro can peel away from the board easily enough can't it?
Yeah, I was just messing. Mind you, I really have to put some effort in to get a pedal off (I'm a tiny weakling though). A small square in each corner of a pedal is enough to attach it securely, so a little can go a looong way.
 13.

This stuff's brilliant. I can lift up a whole PT2 plus pedals just by grabbing two pedals at opposite corners and lifting. Bit of a bugger if you actually want to move stuff around on the board though.
 14. It's often part of a courier's "Conditions of Carriage" that it's packed securely in a double-walled cardboard box. I'd be a bit miffed if a bass turned up in just the hardcase.
 15. Can anyone identify the model? I'm not au fait with Status models. I'm guessing it's a Series x000, but I have no idea whether it's 1000, 2000, 3000...
 16.
Me at a fairly recent gig in Manchester!
That is a cracking shot! Looks superb. You seem a little over-energetic with the slapping thumb, though.
 17. I don't know what happened. I don't know how it happened. But it was something bad, and it happened to this bass. From the item description:
Although the guitar doesn't currently work, the body is in perfect condition
...quickly followed by...
On 24-Oct-10 at 18:42:26 BST, seller added the following information: I didn't mention in the listing that where the plate has been removed from the front of the electrics a piece of the wooden body has come off. You can see this in the pictures though.
Still, it could be a project for someone with more patience than me.
 18.
Er, what's he done to the touchboard?
Looks like it's been taken back to either the bare wood (is that wise with maple?) or to a satin finish. I think it looks pretty odd against the amber tint of the gloss on the headstock and the back of the neck. Sexy bass though. If I were rich and left-handed...
 19. In case anyone's interested, I got a peek at Michael Manring's pedalboard in Harrogate the other night: That's it.
 20.
Ooft, thats a trek
Really? I didn't think it was much further than Stirling. Just in a different direction.
 21.
Wheres Moffat????
Moffat. It's about 90 minutes drive from you.
 22. Have you dismantled the whole Xtender assembly? It's just a question of undoing the Phillips screw in the middle (Phillips screw "A" in this PDF). Everything just falls off the base plate then, and you should be able to unscrew it no trouble.
 23. This is now on hold pending a few bits and bobs.
 24. Last bump before eBay. Don't make me do it!
 25.
Basschat shootout? Would have been good, but for some reason my mind always goes blank for what to play at these kind of events!
Shout-out, not shoot-out! Y'know... "All mah BassChatters at the back holla!" "Woop-woop!" That sort of thing. God, the best you'd get out of me in a high-pressure shoot-out would be an A-major scale.
