Quit all social media in 2016. Best thing I ever did. Wanna talk? Let's meet down the pub and catch up over a white wine spritzer.

Was that question aimed at me?
I play both.
But always considered bass my main instrument of choice.
At the moment though my main bass is tuned in tenor bass, A standard, tuning, which I know for instance Victor Wooten makes use of frequently, but especially Stanley Clarke makes wide use of.
As far as I am concerned perfect for the just 28.6" scale length of the 4 string Ibanez Mikro Bass that I love playing and use for this.
From the WikiPedia article about Bass Guitar tunings:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_guitar_tuning
Obviously not suited for covering a traditional bass player role in a band context, but perfect for melodic/solo work, as well as being well suited for doing chords, but while also still actually sounding great playing more traditional transposed bass lines on, making a sort of hybrid guitar/bass approach suited when playing such a bass to make full use of its capabilities/possibilities.
I guess more so taking on a role of a low tuned Tenor Guitar, rather than a traditional bass role, but the instrument still technically being categorized as a Bass Guitar, hence the name Tenor Bass.
So while I do play both Guitar and Bass Guitar, and my current main instrument still is categorized as a Bass Guitar, I suppose you could argue that with how it is strung and tuned at the moment I play neither, but rather a low tuned Tenor Guitar, or more specifically a Tenor Bass Guitar.
Just like the Bass Ukulele is typically being tuned in fourths, rather than fifths, as you would otherwise traditionally tune a Ukulele or Tenor Guitar.
The WikiPedia article on Tenor Guitars: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenor_guitar
Thank you for your story - stunning and brave.

2012 was the closest I got. Kerrang magazine had taken an interest in us but half the band had already become alcoholics...

Do you play guitar or bass?

Or you could buy one of the older ones with an alder body.
Why get whipped up into a frenzy over indian laurel and nato? (Which is probably why they're getting blown out).
Would take a modern Squier over a 70s Fender any day.

Or just get a bigger pedalboard?

Looks like the Gold edition with binding and blocks is not discounted.

Any similar bands to Hazemaze (RIP)? Would love to see another active touring band similar to these guys.

I live in Bristol and have done for years; I love it, but although the music scene is great, it does tend to include a lot of pretty niche bands and some very enthusiastic archivists, perhaps leading to over-estimates of its scale... If you take out Massive Attack, Portishead and Roni Size, there aren't many names in there that people outside the city will know.
Idles?

Surely London? Or LA/NYC.

I used to swap the 45-105 set with the same size D’Addario EXLs on my Fender P. Tension was close enough that I could get away with no adjustments.
That's what I was hoping. Thanks for confirming.

Has anyone compared these directly with roundwounds in the same gauge?

Unfortunately, I don't have the time or energy to spend 200 bucks on a shipment from the States. Amazon occasionally have sales on DR strings so I snap them up when I can. £25 is the best price I see nowadays.

Squier 40th Anniversary Precision sounds like a no brainer to me. Loving mine - just restrung with DRs and sounds awesome.

I was after a more neutral preamp with a DI that could do the edge of valve breakup sound. I have been looking at this, the Battalion and the Tonehammer. Have to say, the Laney has impressed me in all the soundclips.

Literally could be anything... maybe just buy a set of Sunbeams and compare?
