I always wear gloves when carefully setting up my DI box and IEMs. 

I was after a more neutral preamp with a DI that could do the edge of valve breakup sound. I have been looking at this, the Battalion and the Tonehammer. Have to say, the Laney has impressed me in all the soundclips. 

Does the Mr Sparkle 808 have the bass boost mod? 

Literally could be anything... maybe just buy a set of Sunbeams and compare? 

How does this compare with the Tech 21 VT Bass DI? 
 

Big fan of Laney. I really liked their RB series amps.

Fender are not a business now but a brand. 

Unfortunately, the only real world solution is constant and continued back strengthening and conditioning exercises at least every other day. Just a few simple moves for a few minutes a day keeps everything in check.

Phat Phuk B is the only other pedal I can think of that has a 'smooth' drive sound.

Have you thought about the TC Spark Booster? No valve but an excellent pedal for warming up your signal with some valvey goodness. 

Some on the other hand like sterile has it is more neutral sounding with no coloured, 'signature' sound.

I have the LPB with blocks and binding and it's definitely a looker. Had so many compliments already. 

Sounds like the neck had too much relief. 

Contacts, not degrees, get you better paid gigs. 

I think any 35" scale 5 string would get you there.
