Ernie Ball Super Slinkys (Pink Packet) 40-60-75-95-125, Last well, nice and silvery looking and obviously made for that bass so it seams a good marriage to me? Not going to cost Dr or Labella money either
+1 gets my vote too
 2. £400!! Snort....Bargain of the week!! Shame i can't justify going this big..... Have a good value BUMP on me anyway.
 3. Bought a bargain of a MM Bongo 5HH from Denver. Great guy to deal with. Quick shipping and proper packaging + good communications throughout the deal. Can't recommend highly enough! Trade with confidence.
 4.
BUMP FOR PRICE DROP £50 collected, will ship at buyers expense.
Go on then.... I'll have it for £50 Pm'd

I would highly recommend dealing with Fran.
Ditto.... except...[s] Badass III bridge [/s] Mono comfort strap. Great communications too! Deal with confidence people.
 6.
I shouldn't think this will go too much higher. Victorys haven't quite got the vintage appeal of other Gibsons (yet - they are getting there slowly) and they get listed fairly often. This might go higher due to nice condition/case/colour - candy apple reds don't seem to be the most common colour - but i'd be inclined to wait for the next one if it goes too far.
In the end it made $2700 / £1670!!! Ouch! This can't be right surely??? If it is, damn....I should have bought one last year!!

I think you're right. + I've been outbid now anyway... Probably a good job really, shipping and tax would have been fairly hefty. If anyone sees a bargain give me a shout. Cheers. TK
 8. 1st: Squire P Go to: MM Sabre with Status neck Your bass: MM Stingray
 9.
I really, really hate these stupid threads. I just don't see the point in them.
+1. I agree with this. Why can't we discuss more important bass type stuff like: Which B string sounds better...34" or 35"? Are people who can read music boring musicians? What does good tone sound like? How long is a piece of string? etc..etc.... or maybe more importantly, Who's best....Mark King or Flea??!! I'll get me coat... + p.s... yes, sometimes i do need 5 strings.....

 11.
When you've written a melody or a progression, put the instrument down and just listen. Try to sing an idea for a bassline, before you pick up the bass. This will stop you from falling into your stock patterns, and make for a more interesting line.
+1 to this. Most of the home-made basslines that i have come up with that i like, originated in my head and didn't just fall out of the bass. The stock pattern thing is a disease that i suffer from badly...

 14.
Mine's somewhere between 12 and 13lbs. Be warned File is here: http://www.ifb.co.uk/~matthew/gibson_victory_prices.txt View it in a monospaced font to keep the columns correct.
Thanks for this! Very interesting, properly researched Bass GAS, I like it!
 15. Hmmm following my Gibson victory artist thread from yesterday and the revalation that they can weigh in the region of 13lbs i did some bass weighing this morning. My MM Sabre (which i thought was the lightest i had ) 10lbs 15oz !! Must just balance really well or something, feels light as a feather to me. Stingray 4. 10lbs 1oz. Standard fare for a Ray i guess. Sterling by MM Ray35 = 11lbs dead. I find this fairly weighty but certainly playable, i just cant believe it is only 1oz heavier than the Sabre....maybe i'm just wierd...
 16.
Can't really help you, mine was a wreck and had no case. If you are going for it, get some weight training in Having said that, I have a list of all the ebay Victory auctions from Dec09 until Jun10 when I got mine if you're interested.
Cheers mate that would be great, when you the have time. + How heavy is yours? I am used to a Ray35 which is pretty weighty i.e 10lbs+. Will more training be required??!!
 17. Looking at one of these on the bay.com. Condition wise, It is about as mint as you can get for a 1981 bass, complete with original case. Been on my GAS list for a while (Along with RD Artists) Yer Does anyone have any idea what it is likely/ought to make? Cheers TK
