1. Thinking about doing this track in our band. What effect is he using on the Bass? Some sort of synthy type thing? I have fiddled with a bit of octave/dist/filter and it sounds alright...ish..... but not really right, if you know what i mean... Anyone play it in their band? What do you use?/ what would you use? (instrument wise, we only have 1 Guitar, drums and Me)
2.
I had an Original GuvNor which was awesome - Don't know about the newer one though. Timmy C from RATM used the original one on the first RATM album with a Stingray, so that could be a good place to start looking!
Ha... this was the reason I bought this... didn't realise he was using the original style one at the time , still i was happy with the sounds, with a Stingray you can get pretty much that tone out of it..
3. Had a PM on weight of this. Just a shade under 11lbs. Cheers TK
4.
Lovely bass you have there. Good price too. I'm a lefty, so it's no good to me but man, do I need some DR Neons.
Thanks! Yes the old DR Neons are pretty fabulous it must be said....Bump
5.
You wouldn't happen to have any sound clips of Guv'nor would you?
I haven't got any proper sound samples no, I may have a video from a gig i can put on the tube somewhere... i'll have a search.. Cheers Tom
6. My new year sort out continues.. Here is my M-pulse 600 amp complete with Bronco case, bought from Beedster on here about 18 months ago I think. It is an absolutely killer amp. It was brilliant when I was in a really heavy Rock band with 2 valve amped guitarists but now in a more sedate pop covers band it is never run over about 10% volume and it seems a little ridiculous lugging it all about to be honest. These amps really are worth the hype, to the point where the only thing I would consider a trade for is a Mesa walkabout combo. The amp comes with a footswitch for the channels and compressor, EQ etc.. all works fine. Some of the pots are a bit crackly esp, the main master volume. I will get this sorted before anyone picks it up or requires it sent, I am taking it to my local tech tommorow so will be all sorted and ready to go. The cab is the matching Powerhouse 410 rated at 600W also bought on here 2 or 3 years ago. Comes with a Mesa dust cover. I am quite happy to split, pick up is going to be the prefered option as weight is going to be an issue for couriering me thinks.. If you want it delivered, I will split costs with the purchaser, think this is fair. Pricewise, I want £1100 if you have the whole rig or £780 for the head and £420 for the cab Trades would only be for a Walkabout as mentioned... Cheers Tk Greyhound not included!! Well....actually I expect we could come to a deal.....this is his foster home....
7. Definitely going to keep this now guys... Sorry for the change of heart... Thanks TK After much deliberation I have decided to put this back up for sale again!... . I had great fun with this project and have enjoyed playing it too, I am really only playing 5 strings now though so havent played it much in the last 6 months. It started out life as a fretless Sabre type thing I bought on here for around £600. I sold the neck and bought and fitted the Status neck. It also had one of those awful bent tin Olp style bridges you see on e-bay for a fiver each! I imported a G&L bridge from the States as that was the closest thing I could find to an "off the shelf" Sabre bridge. The body is stamped 1988 and being a Sabre of that era it ain't light.... (11lbs dead). It is nicely balanced though and I have never found it to be an issue. It has a few areas of light "mojo" too but nothing too horrendous. Electronics are all original, 3 band EQ and 3 position switch. The switch is not 100%. It always works in Bridge position but sometimes needs a bit of wiggling for neck and middle positions. Never bothered me as I like the bridge pick up most anyway... It is quite a versatile bass with all the options though, so if you want it fully sorted, we can come to some arrangement i'm sure. It plays really well and sounds pretty killer too. Probably about the best "Budget" Cutlass 2 you will find! Comes fitted with DR Neons (in a very understated shade of green ), the original black pickguard which i have stickerised, (can be un-stickerised at your request) and a mint green replacement one which makes it look quite retro I reckon, A Sterling by Musicman Gigbag + a new set of EB Strings Price: £[s]950 [/s] £820 collected. (£850 delivered UK) Cheers TK
8. [sup]Ermm....Hate to be pushy but.....6 monthly Bump... [/sup]
9. 3 pedals for sale all in good working order. All prices include UK delivery (standard RM recorded delivery). Thanks. TK Q-tron + -SOLD- Old style, complete with pretty wooden box. Adapter is euro-style 2 pin, hence adaptor plug included. I love this pedal, sadly i love my Proton more so, can't have it lying around doing nothing. £65 Boss ODB-3 -SOLD- This one is pretty much mint, boxed with instructions etc... some people love them some hate em.. Not really for me, good at low gain only, to my ears at least.... £40 Marshall Guv'nor - Sold- I actually rate this pedal & have gigged with it a lot, I reckon they are really good value for what they are, I have tried loads of bass distortion pedals and apart from the Darkglass which has now replaced it, I haven't found anything i prefered. Sounds brilliant after chorus/flanger sounds. No box, gain knob slightly bent but fully functional... £35
10. I've just blown all me christmas money on a new pedal so thought it was time to think about a pedal-board re-shuffle... The pedals i need on the board are: Boss TU3 MXR octaver ibanez Chorus Proton (filter) Darkglass B3k (Yay! the new one!!) I have always had octavers first, then tuner, filter, od, and finally chorus.... what are your prefferences on this..... and why? Cheers in advance. TK
11. Don't suppose you fancy some sort of trade for a Mesa 600M-pulse head plus powerhouse 410 cab? ....... Really need to downsize but want to keep that Mesa sound.... Damn the GAS.....

16.
Hey Tom/Steff I was hoping to be in a position to make my mind up on this earlier in the week (it's down to whether I've got a new gig or not - if I get it it would be useful to have this as well as my Powerhouse 1x15). However, for various reasons I had to postpone the audition. Tom, if you want it, please go for it. If you don't, Steff, drop me a PM and we'll sort something mate. Chris
No worries Chris. I am not in a big rush anyway (a 1x15 is my real GAS) , hope you get it and enjoy it! If you ever want to part with yours at some point......let me know, I have a lovely amp to go with it... Steff, any idea on weight of the 1x18 yet, doing some research myself, I read a thread on TB with some guy saying they were 114lbs!! Cheers. Tom
