  1. I think might cause me to get a few text messages very soon lol! Just a feeler right now as I may be looking at working with another home grown valve amp builder, off the back of the guitarist in my band already using their amps What we have is a Matamp GT200 with two 4x10 1200 watt 8 ohm cabs! This rig is in mint condition, black tolex with black grills on the cabs, covers included The amp is a smooth GT200, this can easily be modified to suit your sound, black tolex with light up "Green" on the front This rig is loud, very loud, it's just a fookin' huge sound Not very old, the amp was in at Matamp just before I got it, which is probably around 12 months ago I paid £1200 for the head, which was about right considering it's age at the time, I will take slightly less than this, but not much! I don't need to go with the new amps as this rig does the job, very well The cabs were around £500 each, again I will drop very slightly! Hope the pricing is OK by the forum rules, if not, take prices I quoted and ONO after them! Pics to follow I can meet within reasonable distance of Manchester, I will also ship the amp at your expense, overseas if needed but it is a valve amp so that needs to be taken into consideration, and it's heavy!! Tony
  2. 3 Leaf audio groove regulator Mk1 Excellent condition, boxed £115 delivered Tony
  3. I did consider that, hard to tell though! Hope not!
  4. Hi I recently picked up a Fender Jazz bass (MIJ) off this forum. When I tried it, it seemed fine, but had a high action. I've been playing for many years and having no problem setting up basses to how I like them, which is a medium / low action! I've done that sort of thing many times, set the relief in the neck, adjusted string height, intonation etc But this one is frying my brain, looks like there is a fret problem at the higher end of the neck The A and D strings are the biggest problem, with an amount of relief in the neck, both strings become unplayable at what I would call a medium string height! The A buzzes and is totaly dead at the 8th fret and the D is the same at the 12th fret, there is no note, just a dead, short buzz! The E is a bit buzzy and the G is OK, but it's not yet set up as I would like! anyone got an idea of what else to check as I've not delved this deep before? It looks like it's going to have to go into a local luthier! Tony
  5. I need to update this soon! Found some photo's of old basses and there have been a few additions! Outgoing is my LPB deluxe fretless jazz, found myself a fretless stingray to go with my buttercream 'ray, nice combo! Also new is a jap Jazz bass, wanted something for a GK pick up and also a bass I can play around with pick ups etc, it's a bit battered, all black and with the white pickgaurd removed, it looks cool, just needs a bit of fretwork as the A string is not right with a medium action Also new to me is some TE gear! I have my regular rig, which is a Matamp GT200 and 2 Matamp 4x10's, but I wanted something smaller for at home and the odd acoustic gig, I also wanted something that sounded less vlave, if that makes sence! So I have a TE AH250 on a 1x15 cab, not exactly small, but far more portable than the Matamp rig and this stuff is such a ridiculous price these days! In 1983 I think I paid £475 for an AH150, lot of money back then!! Pictures to come, just wanted to bump this up a bit! Tony

  7. Help! Last night I asked my daughter to measure a stingray case (square type) for me so I could arrange a courier for a bass this morning and the sizes she sent don't make sense! I'm in work right now and she's probably still in her pit, so if someone could give me approx dimensions that would be great. I'm guessing weight at around 15lbs, so rounding it up to 10kg Cheers Tony
  8. Simple! Buy this and die happy! Tony

Cheers Tony
