    Music is an aesthetic and increasingly the visual and audio components of that aesthetic diverge; modelling instruments, convenience instruments (e.g., EUBs), real time audio correction etc all take away so much authenticity. A nice big Ali bass puts a whole load of it back in the mix, metaphorically and literally 👍

    They have a similar effect on an audience as does driving down the street in a 50’s Chevvy on a bunch of pedestrians. takes people back to a different time and place, which given that’s often why the audience is watching the genres in question in the first place, it just adds to the feeling ❤️

    If I had a pound for each question I’ve answered about this bass either tjis time around or the last time when I listed the body only I would have enough cash to keep the bass! I’ve been wanting to do the full CT Sig on this bass for a while now, so if it doesn’t sell by the end of the day that’s what I’m going to do. Kinda hope it doesn’t sell now 😆

    Of course but the question was about acoustic - not amplified - volume, and this will be low. It’s why string sections are the largest in the orchestra, takes close to a hundred of them to keep up with the much smaller brass and woodwind sections, plus when strings are pizz the rest of the orchestra tends to have to play rather quietly. A section of cellos can be pretty loud, but a single trumpet probably wins on volume 👍
