PayPal issue resolved. Must have been a blip their end

Having used the same bank account for many years I can no longer withdraw my PayPal balance My account and all my registered cards aren’t showing as available to sent my balance to. Has something changed ? - I’ve a Barclays account , 3 Cards and a nationwide card

What made you pick up that first bass at the start of this long and winding road? Aged 19 or 20 (can’t remember) and had never played an instrument in my life. Went out with some friends away at uni who were home for the hols and when we got back to his place he pulled a black & maple precision. I was hooked from that very moment. That was 1978. Do you still have the same fire and enthusiasmr? Do you still love it? Of course. I didn’t play at all between the ages of 24 and 50 but it’s a huge part of my life now especially since I retired What has changed along the way? The internet ! - the resources out there are so vast compared to the early days. I’ve never read music and still learn songs by memory. Any song you need to learn is available to you. Your taste in music, taste in basses? Taste in music - wide and varied, always has been. Interesting how we have gaps in our music exposure which normally fits in with having children and therefore no time to listen to anything knew. Taste in basses - having been through dozens of basses since I started playing again I have settled on my Dingwall ABZ. Can’t see me ever parting with it What was the first bass? A p bass copy of unknown origin. First proper bass was Ibanez Roadster bought from Curly Music in Liverpool And what’s the latest? Latest bass was a Dingwall NG3 4 string. Very nice but the ABZ is better. But a few months ago I decided to learn drums so funds have gone on building a nice Roland e-kit

I’m contemplating a Backbeat after the weekend gig where as the gig went on I found it harder and harder to hear myself. Because of that I began fingering harder and harder to the point my fingers cramped up. i figure if I can feel myself playing I might be less prone to this reoccurring. I know I need to work more on technique but in the heat of the moment theory can go out of the window. A new G2 backbeat is £399 but there’s no used ones around. But there’s some used G1 units about for £170 ish So should I try a used G1 unit first and upgrade if I like it ? - or just bite the bullet and get the F2 ? Thanks in advance

Found some bargain Roland drum parts on marketplace and wondered if a kind BCer could collect, pay the cash (£150), box up and post to me using Evri Tbe 270 mile trip would kinda negate the bargain price for me ! Thanks in advance

I set up a dmx controller (ADJ) for 3 light units so that they all do same thing at the same time. Just solid colours or fading a colour in and out - nothing fancy I then run them via the Morningstar midi controller which also runs by HX Stomp i wrote an idiots guide for the other band members that I’m happy to share

Thank you all for the really useful info i picked up an XR18 last night for £327 brand new so we’ll start planning the changeover from the Mackie Need a shallow 6u case next 😀

XR18 is below £400 now

We’re thinking of changing from the Mackie 1608 to a Behringer unit. They seem to get really good reviews. The main driver is to reduce the amount of gear we lug about. I figure I might just squeeze the XR mixer and the ADJ DMX controller into a single shallow 6u rack case. That’d be way more compact than the large top mount case we currently use just for the mixer and router. We currently run into 2 Mackie SRM350’s and a Behringer sub for 2xvocals, 2xguitars via helix and a Roland drum kit. Just a few things I’d welcome input on The XR16 is the minimum spec we could use as the XR12 only had 2 aux outputs, but for the extra money, is the XR18 worth the difference ? Is a separate router essential ? - once set up, we would rarely change anything mid-gig except maybe during an interval. Or is the built in WiFi sufficient? What apps are people using to control their mixers and does it work on an iPhone ? Thanks in advance.
