  1. My year began with our singer and lead guitarist both announcing they were leaving. The year ends with new folk now well bedded in and the 2 leavers are willing to dip from time to time. Even better is the healthy gig diary for 2026. The old singer has started a new trio project with myself and the bands drummer on guitar so I'm looking forward to progressing that. And a patient teacher has turned me from someone who couldn't play drums into someone who can play them badly. A good year
  2. Thanks all - especially @Raymondo for sharing those lists
  3. Thanks for these. The singer is female and was in my main band for 11 years. Her voice is less suited to female sung numbers but we just down tubed where we had to. Guitar player is the drummer in said band but he’s decent on guitar and proficient on banjo !
  4. Just about to start a side venture of a laid back covers trio and would welcome song suggestions So far we are trying: Tracy Chapman - Baby Can I Hold You Chris Stapleton - Tenessee Whisky Chris Isaak - Wicked Game Johnny Cash - Hurt Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes Amy McDonald - This is the Life Foster the People - Pumped up Kicks Singer might add a bit of percussion but there'll be no drums. We're looking for a Sunday afternoon vibe rather than a smash it up Saturday night. Thanks in advance.
  5. This is what a Limelight charcoal precision looks like Suzi
  6. The OP only joined Basschat 19 hours ago. Might be an idea to introduce yourself @Suzi Harding - there's a forum called Introductions on The Local section.
  7. Surplus to requirements £30 uk posted
  8. Handy footswitch to give you FS4 and FS5 on a Helix HX Stomp or similar. Needs a TRS cable to connect Unit is velcroed and in good condition. Selling as I’ve moved to an expression pedal. UK Postage included
  9. This was a Covid project for me and it began life as a very neglected Columbus jazz bass. i stripped off the finish, refinished it in Lake placid blue, added MIM fender pickups and tuners. The bridge is from a friends spares box and I’ve no idea where the control plate came from. Rather than the usual fake fender decal, I went with a tokai one. Bad bits - the finish on the rear of the body is pretty patchy. The front is ok but there are some ‘roadworn’ areas. It was my first attempt at a refinish but it looks great from the front. Good bits - it’s really playable. The neck is really slim and fast. Reminds me of my MIJ Geddy. Asking £175 £150 for it. Collection preferred but we can sort something out if that’s not practical. I’ve attached some before and after pics
  10. If it was a 4 string I’d be all over it like a badly fitted suit😊
  11. Sad news - had the pleasure of briefly meeting him at Wembley at a Man Utd champions league final. Came across as a really decent bloke. i miight buy a toby jug to put on my amp at the next gig in his honour
  12. Quick update - used the iPad to record the weekend gig and lo and behold, it worked ! Big learning curve ahead to get the best out of Cubasis but I managed to get a track created earlier which sounds decent to me Hedonism v2 1.wav
  13. Thanks all. I’ve made some progress. Getting the proper Apple cable was the key. I was then able to add the relevantly USB mapped channels from the XR18 i connected my iPhone to 2 channels and managed to record an iTunes track after a few false starts and help from a YouTube video so good progress especially for an old geezer like me
  14. Selling this nice MIM jazz body due to a recent Warmoth purchase. It’s got a few battle scars especially around the neck pocket but the overall finish is decent enough. Use it as it is for a light road worn look or refinish it to our preferred colour ! It’s dated July 2001 and is fitted with a no-name fender style hi-mass bridge. Cavities have all been shielded. Looking for £150 uk posted.
  15. Lovely neck bought recently on here from @briansbrew but the project I wanted it for is no longer happening. I’ll use Brian’s words and pics … Brand new Mighty Mite Jazz neck fitted with Hipshot tuners and string tree It has been fitted to the Jazz body that I have up for sale, never been used or Gigged Neck has been finished in clear Nitro with headstock finished in light Amber Price includes delivery to the UK
  16. Thanks for this - I can see they also sell on eBay for £20 to £25
  17. USB to usb c, into the dodgy eBay adapter, into a lightning to usb c adapter then a lightning to usb c adapter if I then power the dodgy eBay adapter with a lightning charger, the iPad seems to recognise it but it’s doesn’t charge it. i suspect the cable set up is wrong so a link to what I need to buy would be massively appreciated 😊
  18. Apologies if this is the wrong forum for the topic but here goes. I’m tasked with recording band gigs after our guitarist left the band. He was successful in recording from the XR18 to his laptop so I know the routing is all set up on the XR18 i’ll be using an iPad Pro and I downloaded Cubasis 3 and attempted to set everything up but I can’t get Cubasis to see the XR18. I suspect it’s the cabling and I’ve used an adapter I picked up on eBay. Maybe I need something else. is there someone out there who can help me ? - someone that has the same set up Thanks in advance

  20. Orange 4 stroke 500w bass amp in pretty immaculate condition as it’s been stored in a rack case (available separately) Here is the official blurb from Orange.. The 4 Stroke Series is our offering to the demanding modern bass player – everything you need, and nothing you don’t. Featuring all-analogue circuitry throughout, the 4 Stroke 300 & 500 speak with genuine authority, delivering powerful tones with a natural and rounded emphasis that leaves Class D amps in their wake. The Class AB 4 Stroke stays crystal clean and expressive all the way up, without ever becoming sterile or fatiguing. The centrepiece of these amps is the uncompromising tone stack which allows for an unparalleled level of control over the EQ without the fussiness that plagues so many. The active four-band parametric EQ covers an enormous range and opens up limitless possibilities. Whether you need to sculpt your signature sound, bring out the character of your instrument or combat troublesome acoustic environments, the 4 Stroke deals with all comers in an instant. For the finishing touch, our proprietary Class A compression circuit tracks seamlessly, adding further punch and fatness. On the rear, you’ll find the usual essentials: two parallel speaker outputs (min. total load 4 Ohms) I’d prefer pick up near Wakefield as it’s a 10.5kg amp but I will courier within mainland UK if buyer covers cost.
