This isn't intended as an argument about whether Jedward's drums are mixed better than Mastadon's. Just what was your personal favourite album released in 2021. For me, there's no competition, it has to be Fortitude by Gojira It reminds me of Sepultura's Roots album, lots of South American influences showing through and incredible drumming. The overall sound is massive. Definitely one to play loud. Possibly my favourite metal album of the last decade. What's your album of the year?

Does the B14 allow you to blend in some clean signal? I'm thinking of buying one for my daughter for Christmas, she wants some effects so a Zoom multi effect makes sense. Might stop her stealing my stuff.

They're too crunchy. I'm not sure if that makes sense to anyone but me but it makes sense to me.

This was the song that killed the chilli Peppers for me. Its the point where they went from great to bland.

You could use a Boss ABY to blend in some clean tone. I've got an Orange Fur Coat which I think is similar to the Pigtronix Octava although with a useless (for bass) octave blend. I do use a Le Bass and quite like it with both channels in the cold fusion setting. I'm making a bar to connect the two foot switches to make it easier to switch both together.

Sunspots - Nine Inch Nails

I really like a Proco Rat for fuzz tones and just a high gain valve amp for a nice bit of drive. I've tried a few overdrive pedals and nothing seems to sound quite as good as a dirty amp. Having said that, I'm quite tempted by the Tech 21 Geddy Lee preamp.

Planets 1 & 2 - Vista Chino

Darkglass effects seem to suit a very specific metal sound. They're bloody awful if you're playing doom, death or even stuff like Megadeath & Metallica.

This morning I'm enjoying Rancid's masterpiece, And Out Come The Wolves. This has to be one of the all time greatest punk albums. Matt Freeman's bass throughout the album is absolutely superb.
