Just done a deal on Richard's Zon Legacy Ultra. Great comms and a gentleman to deal with, great packaging as well. Look forward to see if Richard has any future basses for sale!
-
Well I've heard it's a conspiracy... I heard it because I started it; I'm not sure on the details but I'll get back to you.
-
No it was distinctly odd as the sales threads were different people, different basses (not just the Wal, other high end basses) and they had all been tagged as withdrawn with absolutely zero replies or responses to the ads. If someone posts a Wal for sale someone ALWAYS has a comment to make... it's the law.
-
I now look a bit of a plonker as all of the basses listed/withdrawn have been deleted... can a mod please tell me I'm not cracking up! LOL The odd thing was they were in a couple of different names and it was the fact that 2 people had Wal basses for sale at the same time and had withdrawn them.

Can't see a way of posting about it in the actual sales section but has anyone noted the amount of basses that have been posted for sale and then withdrawn almost immediately before anyone can comment? Odd!

SOLD - Warwick Dolphin Pro II - 1990 in black/brown
warwickhunt replied to 72deluxe's topic in Basses For Sale
I'll add my £0.02 worth... I've owned 5 Dolphin basses; 1989 Pro I (one of the first), 1990 Pro I, Set Neck Tone Chamber, Pro I 'custom shop' and a Pro II. I presently own said Pro II and all others have been sold, that speaks volumes. They share the Dolphin shape but the neck location, feel is superior (IMHO) on the Pro II. Added to which they are lighter and the Ash body maple neck sounds unlike any other variant. What is sometimes over looked is that the neck/horn position means the first position sits closer to you on a Pro II than a Pro I. They do sound 'burpier' than the Pro I and you well never get the distinct tone of a NT Dolphin from one of these BO. One caveat is that the rear (bridge) pup solo is far to thin to be used in isolation, unless you are really trying to get that sound. Footnote - the German 'Shadow' made basses 'v' the Japanese ones; I've yet to see or have a definitive way of identifying which is which... and I've done a fair bit of research over the last 30 years. Great basses and not to be dismissed as an inferior Pro I, they are a distinct and different bass. -

Just bought a cracking bass off Alan. Nice easy comms and a pleasure to meet and chat with... in an appropriately socially distanced manner! Highly recommend with no reservation.

I know I'm the one selling it BUT... Check out the spec and ratings on the Hughes & Kettner Bassbase 600 and then check out my amp in the sales section. I seriously don't believe there is an amp of this quality for less than £500 never mind £225. The amp retailed @ £1000+ when new and has features and quality components unsurpassed... unless you need class D weight?

Instruments you'd buy, but wouldn't...
warwickhunt replied to NancyJohnson's topic in General Discussion
I know what you mean. It is almost a case of; artist likes a stock bass/guitar, artist plays it and endorses (for said company to make more money), company aesthetically changes the least they can to justify increased price tag over the original model! Inlays, covers and spray jobs are the least costly, so we'll slap those on... and ruin what was good about the original instrument! -
