Hi All,
I've just ordered one of these and thought I'd share. PMT are selling these for £129 on the website, which is about £100 cheaper than anyone else and the RRP is £299! Handmade in the UK, tube powered funkiness!

Can't wait to try it!

Withdrawn for now!

The way I look at these things, a cab can wait for gigs to start again, pedals you can use right now...
Very true, and it's not like my Ashdown cabs are bad!

@stewblack, it would appear that Ashdown have used the same basic chassis for their new ProFX range, so these would presumably fit the board. Am seriously reconsidering now 😬
Only problem is I really want to get that barefaced cab. Might have to find something else to sell 😂

If I get one I might end up with 2 lightweight ashdown 1x12 cabs so it sounds like that will probably work with a di into the band's PA.
Yep that's effectively what I was running. I used it in small and large venues and it was good solid little rig.

Yep, I had a Original C112-300 combo for a while that had that head in. It didn't quite have enough power to cut it in a 3 piece pub band with its internal 8ohm 12 inch speaker. I added another 8ohm 12 inch cab under it so it was running into 4ohms into 2 speakers, and it was then it was fine for a reasonably sized venue or anywhere with PA support. They do a 500w version though that might just be worth the extra cash imo.

I've got 2 x V7 version 2's, one Fretless and one 4 string vintage. I think for the money they are fantastic - easily on par with many instruments twice the price. The preamp is great, but I also knock it into passive mode a fair amount too. Both sound great live or recorded.
Can't see me selling them, they're not worth much second hand and great just for going to Jams or gigs in dodgy pubs where I wouldn't want to take my Stingray or more expenive gear. Have had zero quality issues with either of mine and they always make me smile when I play them
I'd buy another tomorrow if I needed one.

This has been my go-to practice tool over lockdown, but I got a Positive Grid Spark from the Mrs for Christmas which I have finally got my head around and am using almost exclusively, so this is up for grabs to help me fund a Barefaced cab!
Pre Helix but loads of quality usable sounds. Aux in and headphones out make it ideal for home use, but also great for live use, plus you can plug it into your PC to use as an interface, and covers Bass, Guitar and Vocals, so does an awful lot for not much money. Loads of info available online if you want to see what it can do.
Come with power supply and a folder of instructions. Condition is good, minor scuff from use but no cracks or dents. Will be reset to factory defaults before sale.
Prefer (Socially distanced) collection from Chelmsford, but will post at cost.

Really nice. Just up the road from me too! **Hastily buys a lottery ticket 😂

Apologies I typed envelope when I was thinking of the octave pedal.
Ah, yep it would be neat to find one for the set!

I would be asking myself the same question! The last pedal I bought cost more than you're hoping to get for this. Price up a board, patch cables, and power cables - before even thinking of the pedals themselves.
If this had an envelope and maybe an OD instead of the reverb and delay, we wouldn't be having this conversation - you'd be posting a parcel to Somerset!
The Doctors note is an Envelope Filter, so already has that! 😁.
If I was going to keep it for small gigs the only thing I might do is swap the delay or verb for an Octodose, which pop up on eBay every so often for not much. The Hayden guitar pedals use the same chassis so they might do a worthy distortion pedal.
I just looked on eBay and there's a listing for a Bearded Lady for £99 on its own. 😯. It's a great Fuzz but think that's wildly optimistic but even so 🤔

That's instant gratification for someone!
I don't need another board full of pedals, but even so, tempting. Really neat too.
It's a lovely set, ideal for smaller gigs where you need a hand full of different tones. Very small foot print too. Maybe I should keep it 😬

For sale is my Ashdown "Dr Green" effects housed in a heavy duty metal pedalboard. I understand these were originally sets taken to shows by Ashdown as demo units, and I bought it from them direct last year.
Contains:
Tune Up - Tuner,
Doctors Note - Envelope Filter
Aspirin - Compressor
Bearded Lady - Fuzz
Waiting Room - Delay
Bass Verb - Reverb
It would probably originally had an Octodose instead of the delay originally, but I really wanted the delay and verb to combine together as I was going through a bit of a "Steve Lawson" solo bass phase last year (badly) 😂. I initially linked the board to a looper at Home which was great fun.
These are decent effects, nothing ground breaking but a good solid board. They take some tweaking, sometimes using fairly extreme settings on the dials to get the sound you want, but the sounds are definitely there. I particularly like the Bearded Lady and the Verb, so much so that I ended up taking it apart and integrating these two into my main board. However I've scaled that back a bit now and these have now been removed again and the set is all back together. As tempted as I am to keep it it is really now surplus to requirements now and ideally I'm trying to raise some cash to buy a Barefaced cab!
They are in excellent order, with only the Waiting Room pedal really showing any obvious marks, and the odd scuff on the board itself.
The board is built like a tank, with all a wiring hidden and the pedals held on by the battery compartment screws and the jack nuts (see pics). All it needs to run is a 9v 500ma supply which are a few quid on Amazon if you don't have one already. There's no risk of velcro coming off or accidentally knocking out cables with this, I think you could drop it down the stairs and it would still work 😃
Asking for £150 - thats basically £25 per pedal! Would much prefer collection (socially distanced) but will post at cost.
Alternativelty I could be tempted to trade for a quality compressor or interesting effects of some kind.

Wow, don't know how I missed this thread until now - absolutely beautiful work there @Cosmicrain
@Bass Culture is one lucky guy!
Now the question is, could you make a 34" scale 6 string version for me 😁

Help Matt decide. As I'm now getting very close to finishing Matt's Custom build Zoot 5 Funkmeister, the question is does Matt go for a modern look (without a plate) or a retro' modern look (with a scratch plate) ?
My personal preference is WITH a scratch plate, I feel it gives the bass a lot more character, so do I drill fixing holes in the body for a plate or not? Thoughts/suggestions please.
Wow, I am totally torn!!

Hi All,
Please keep an eye out for this bass. Our 13 year old son bought this on ebay having saved all his pocket money and worked hard doing jobs over lockdown to be able to get one.
Unfortunately it has been "lost" by DHL's Basildon depot, having last been scanned there on 12th October and then vanished. How you loose a 3ft long 5kg package is beyond me, but the staff at DHL really don't seem to give a damn about trying to track it down. It's a Retrovibe Davie504 signature sn S108226. I wonder if perhaps it might turn up for sale having been "found" by someone having "fallen out" of the van.
Luckily we bought on PayPal so we should get his money refunded, but it could be some time before he can find a replacement as they are like hens teeth second hand and Retrovibe our totally out of stock, even if he could afford to buy new.
Also if you do see it then please let me know so we can report it to DHL/The local constabulary, and for goodness sake avoid UK Mail/DHL if you want your items delivered by a company that actually seems to care.
Also if anyone has a Davie504 sig in purple they would be willing to sell to a grateful 13 year old please DM me 😬
Hi All,
So thought I'd update you on what happened. DHL couldn't find the bass, it was last seen on CCTV in the wearhouse the day before the last scan, then it went missing. It's possibly it was damaged and "disposed of without being properly recorded", or that it went out on with an agency driver who couldn't find our address and then it got lost in the system. They aren't sure and it may resurface in an auction as some of you have suggested.
There was 1 new purple burst available in the UK at Anderson's, and my email to the CEO resulted in personal contact from the head of Customer Services, who agreed as a gesture of goodwill to compensate Ollie for the extra so he could get that one. They were very helpful, even reserving the bass for us so it couldn't be sold while they investigated.
So I have a very happy 13 year old who has a brand new bass rather than a used one, and I'm actually quite envious - it's a really nice bass!!
Do I think this would have happened without directly emailing the CEO? Probably not given that I also emailed Customer Services independently incase the CEO didn't get my email and I eventually got a reply telling me it would be redelivered the following day, a week after I already knew they had lost it 😆
I probably wouldn't have bothered the CEO if it was just for me, I'd have just taken the PayPal refund and been cross, but I'm glad I took a stand for Ollie as he'd worked so hard and waited so long to get one. He's busy slapping some RHCP's as I write this, so was well worth it!
Aside from this I also had 2 very kind offers for free basses for him, one on here and one on FB, and that also put my faith back in humanity and the bass community!
All in all a very happy end to this tale. Thanks for all your input and suggestions!

It would certainly be worth an email to DHL's CEO.
Actually I already did, and just had a very quick reply! He's escalated it and then I had a message from the head of customer services who is getting the depot to search for it. Fingers crossed!
The Paypal refund will be easy enough, but would rather have the bass back for him!

I has this recently with Pull me Under by Dream Theater. Mainly the fast section a 3 mins in. Took a break from it for a month, can back to it and nailed it pretty much first time. Sometimes it just takes the brain a while to process it all I think before it will flow. Also helps that I really worked on my RH technique in that time I think!!
