Agree, this finish looks awesome. I just hope the neck will be chunky like most Euro necks, so I won't be tempted to buy the red CST 😉

Nice video for both the new LX and CST:

Great looking bass with some tasty upgrades, incl. better pots and the Fender CS 62 pickup. Weight is good too (3.9kg!). £500? Wow, that's a steal. I recently sold my last passive bass but this is now really, really tempting. I better ask my wife to block my bank account and hide my credit card 😉 GLWTS 👍

Jim recently bought my Sadowsky preamp pedal. Smooth transaction and super quick payment. Thumbs up 👍

I am selling this nice Sadowsky SBP-2 Outboard Bass Preamp, which is in mint condition and gives bass players the same electronics that have been used into every Sadowsky bass. It is a great preamp that is ideal for players who want to upgrade their passive vintage instruments without having to change the original electronics. As I no longer own any passive basses, I sadly don't have any use for it anymore. The preamp is now stored safely in its original box in a pet and smoke free house. UK shipping only (sorry!) and shipping costs are included. Feautures: - Bass Preamp / EQ - Provides the same high quality electronics as used in Sadowsky basses - EQ section works as bass and treble boost only Bass + 18 dB boost at 40 Hz Treble + 18 dB boost at 4 kHz - True Bypass - Controls for volume, treble, bass - Bypass footswitch - Status LEDs - 6.3 mm Mono jack input / output - Power supply with 9 V battery or via 9 V DC power supply unit (2.1 mm x 5.5 mm hollow female plug, polarity (-) inside, not included) - Power consumption: 3 mA - Metal housing - Dimensions (L x W x H): 112 x 70 x 53 mm - Weight: approx. 265 g More info on the Sadowsky website: https://sadowsky.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Preamp-Insert-SBP-2-low-res.pdf

I am selling this nice set of EMG- 35P4 and 35J pickups. They are in mint condition and I bought them last summer for £160. I got them for my Spector NS-4, which I only played at home. The pickups are now stored safely in their original boxes in a pet and smoke free house. UK shipping only (sorry!) and shipping costs are included. From the EMG website: https://www.emgpickups.com/bass/extended-series/35p4.html The EMG 35P4 is our P bass pickup in an Extended range housing with the treble magnet closer to the neck (like a Spector or Yamaha bass). The EMG 35P4 covers a wide sonic palette of classic and modern bass sounds. Because the 35P4 utilizes ceramic magnets coupled with short, squat coils, the tone has brilliant high-end articulation, warmth, and incredible low end punch. Countless pros use this bass pickup because of its natural presence, superior dynamics, and low noise. For players who want a "Fender" P alignment - with the treble side closer to the bridge - we offer this pickup in "reverse". Utilizing EMG's solderless wiring, this pickup is easy to install at home. IN THE BOX PACKAGE INCLUDES EMG'S EXCLUSIVE SOLDERLESS INSTALL SYSTEM: 1 25K VOLUME POT 1 25K TONE POT 1 BATTERY BUS 1 STEREO OUTPUT JACK 1 PAIR MOUNTING SCREWS 1 PICKUP CABLE 2 CONNECT CABLES 1 OUTPUT CABLE 1 BATTERY CABLE https://www.emgpickups.com/bass/extended-series/35j.html The EMG 35J is our original J pickup in a Extended series housing for 4 string bass. This pickup has its coil located in the back of the housing - closer to the bridge - which gives it sweeping harmonic overtones and punch. This quiet pickup has classic jazz bass characteristics with a broader tonal frequency range that adds dimensions and clarity. EMG's design has a very low ratio of resistance to inductance, which increases the low end response, while the radiused ceramic bar magnet ensures the tone keeps a tight mid-range punch with a dynamic high end. This pickup uses a housing that is 3.5 inches (89mm) and comes with EMG's solderless wiring and controls. IN THE BOX PACKAGE INCLUDES EMG'S EXCLUSIVE SOLDERLESS INSTALL SYSTEM: 1 25K VOLUME POT 1 25K TONE POT 1 BATTERY BUS 1 STEREO OUTPUT JACK 1 PAIR MOUNTING SCREWS 1 PICKUP CABLE 2 CONNECT CABLES 1 OUTPUT CABLE 1 BATTERY CABLE

Yes, the finish looks stunning and much better in person than on the photos I took with my cheap phone. Solid maple wings are getting rare and expensive too. The Bass Gallery is currently selling a used 2017 NS-2 with solid maple wings in an amber finish for £6,000.00! Well, maybe I should reconsider my pricing as the pickups I put on turned the NS-4 (DCs) into a NS-2 (PJ)! https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/ns2

You can pre-order them from Bass Direct. The 4s go for £5499, the 5s for £5799 and the relic'ed one for £6899. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/spector-4-string-doug-wimbish-usa-custom-shop-signature-model-amber-stain-gloss/ https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/spector-4-string-doug-wimbish-usa-custom-shop-signature-model-black-stain-gloss/ https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/spector-5-string-doug-wimbish-usa-custom-shop-signature-model-dark-blue-stain-gloss/ https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/spector-5-string-doug-wimbish-usa-custom-shop-signature-model-faded-natural-gloss/ https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/spector-ns-2-doug-wimbish-relic/

There is also a retailer in Germany, selling a Euro Classic Aged 80s. I am not a fan of relic'd basses but YMMV: https://www.station-musicshop.de/epages/64398533.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/64398533/Products/6770-6814

Quick update. Played the GK today for an hour. No issues. Recorded two quick samples with the contour button engaged and disengaged. I also attach the EQ settings. Still keep the low price as I cannot promise that the problems I had during the heatwave may not come back (during the next heatwave, for example). So, maybe only play it on cold days to be on the safe side? 😉 V_20240427_153859_ES3.mp4 V_20240427_153756_ES3.mp4

I am selling the GK MB112-II 200-watt power amp with ceramic 12" speaker. I bought it in spring 2018 and only used it for home practice. As you can see from the photos, the chassis is in very good condition. However, during the heatwave of 2022, I noticed some crackling noises, a bit like old vinyl records, difficult to describe. I decided not to get it checked over, but bought a bigger amp, the 500w Eich BC112 Pro, instead (as bigger is always better ; -). Since then, the GK was in our loft as a backup, but after our recent renovation project, we need the space and I have to sell it. I tried it out today and it sounded ok, maybe a very slight distortion-ish sound when playing lower notes. Maybe it is a small issue, maybe not, that's why I think that my asking price is fair as you can use the combo for home practice all day long. The last one sold here on BC went for £300, new they cost £649 (https://www.andertons.co.uk/gallien-krueger/gallien-krueger-mb-112-bass-combo-303-0591-b) and there is a used one on Reverb for £599(!). Collection only, although I will have to travel to Leeds in late May to buy more tiles for the next stage of our house renovation project (and probably have to sell some more stuff for that too ; -) Product Specs: MB112-II Combo The MB112-II is one of the smaller amps in Gallien-Krueger's MB Series II range, but it still packs a serious punch! With a 200-watt power amp and ceramic 12" speaker, the MB112-II is a killer companion for the gigging musician used to performing in small/medium-sized venues. It's great for practice too, with its auxiliary input and headphone output letting you jam along to your favourite tracks in silence. Key Features - 4-Band Active EQ — Derives from GK's legendary 800RB amp. Provides extensive tone-shaping potential so that you can find the sonic sweet-spot, especially with the 'Hi Mid' and 'Lo Mid' knobs. - Contour Control — Completely re-voices the amplifier by tuning between two different shaping circuits, with greatly different responses. When the the control is engaged, the low-end is slightly boosted, the mids are scooped, and the high-end is pushed up; great for slap! - Variable Q — Another feature inherited from the 800RB. This unique design varies the EQ bandwidth to retain a musical response even at extreme settings. In other words, it's hard to make the MB112-II sound bad! - USA-Designed Speaker — The special ceramic driver with 2.5" edge wound aluminium voice coil, designed just for this cabinet, is manufactured in the GK USA factory. - Lightweight Design — Plywood construction, aluminium chassis, switch mode power supply and power amp deliver 200W performance in a rugged 30lb (13.6kg) package. - Contemporary Connectivity — Balanced DI with pre/post switch, aux in and headphone output for silent practice, plus "chain out" to drive GK's MBP powered enclosures (pair with the 112 MBP). - Switch Mode Power — Extremely lightweight switch mode power supply and power amp deliver 200W into the speaker with very little wasted heat dissipation. - Critically Damped — The amp's port is specifically tuned for optimum performance, coupled with a particular jute blend of damping material that provides the right amount of damping at certain frequencies. - Smart Protection Circuitry — Constantly monitors for unsafe operating conditions such as short circuits, mis-wired speaker cables, blown speakers, improper ventilation, and incorrect speaker configurations.
