  1. One more: and please, please tell them to ask NBE to hire someone who can do proper bursts for the CST. I am looking at the one in natural violet you are having in stock at the moment and, man, this is one bad take on a burst finish. Sorry. Looks like some apprentices must have been tasked with the spray paint job or, even worse, the candidates from the UK show Apprentice were sent to CZ to make basses for one day. Would not surprise me 😉
  2. I am sure you can do have light weight basses without neck dive. Several manufactures offer these. Sandberg is coming to my mind, for example.
  3. Fab, just thinking of it, they could also re-launch the Classic, again with solid maple wings but this time without any weight relief. Looks like many of them suffered from neck dive, as can been in several YT videos. A thinner neck shape would be great too (and still keeping the 1.64'' nut width).
  4. Good point, but hey could just replace the current P only version of the IH model, which celebrated JP's 50's birthday (hence the huge inlay) with the previous PJ version, which would probably generate more interest than the current P only version. Speaking of interest, it would be interesting to know how their signature models are actually doing. I am sure the DW is doing well (hence the recently updated versions), but what about the others? For example, the two(!) Rudy Sarzo's, the Dan Briggs, the Skyler Acord (for Joker fans, I guess ; - )etc. https://www.spectorbass.com/series/artist-series/
  5. Please tell them to bring back the Ian Hill signature model (PJ version, solid maple wings, gloss black finish, thin neck specs with 1.64'' nut width, not the 1.5'' DW one). Thanks!
  6. Matt sold me his G&L LB 100. The whole process was top of the pops. Today, I received the bass (next day delivery!) and I was pretty impressed by the super secure packaging (double boxing!). Much better than what you get from most shops. Great stuff. The bass itself really is in excellent condition (as mentioned in the ad). I think you could put it in a store and no one would think it is used. It plays very nicely too. So, I would like to thank Matt for selling it to me for a great price 👍
  7. I was not aware that there is a tonal difference between US and EU maple. Well, every day is a school day, I guess. For example, who knew that there is a difference between an African and European swallow either? 😁
  8. Thanks for the clarification. Interesting. He did not mention any of that when I reached out to him (ebay seller) and I even mentioned to him that he must have bought it just before I was about to buy it.
  9. The new Wimbish signature bass comes with the new Spector Legacy Preamp instead of the Tonepump. Maybe that explains why it sounded similar to the NS2.
  10. Several Spectors in action:
  11. Nope, never played it but judging by the photos and Andy's description (see link below), it sounds like the real deal. Back in April 2023, I sent him an email asking about the neck shape. I then went to work and by the time and I cam home, the bass had sold 😞 It then re-appeared two weeks ago on Ebay and I contacted the seller who was the guy who bought from Andy. I bid for it, but was outbid 😞 This week, the seller then reached out to me saying that the buyer was a scammer and the bass was back up on Ebay. Unfortunately, I could not afford the asking price 😞 Interestingly, both Andy and the guy on Ebay sold it as "European alder body and is topped off with a stunning flamed maple top". However, it has solid maple wings, which, at least for me, is an important part of the Spector recipe (together with neck-thru design, active EMGs and the Haz preamp (or clone or Haz pedal)). https://www.andybaxterbass.com/products/2003-spector-euro-4-amber
  12. Because I missed out three times on this bass, first time two years ago and now twice within two weeks. This is a killer bass and I am sure you will love it. Congrats 👍
  13. Is your new Spector a 2003 Euro 4 in amber by any chance, listed recently on Ebay?
  14. Info about the pedal can be found here: https://au.donnermusic.com/products/donner-dark-mouse-distortion-guitar-effect-pedal or on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Donner-Mouse-Distortion-Effect-Pedal/dp/B07P46L936?ref_=ast_sto_dp
  15. I am giving away this Donner Dark Mouse Distortion Pedal. It is a Rat clone. It works fine, but the sound is not for me. Consequently, I am not using it and it is only collecting dust. It only cost me £15 used (no box), so it would be too much of a hassle to sell and post it. Well, see it as my Christmas gift to the BC community. Collection only (Leicestershire).
  16. Spector Euro 4LX Ian Hill, the PJ version please.
  17. Some great Spector deals from PMT:
  18. Not much happening here. What about some good Black Friday deals? Very tempting (esp. the red Euro 4X), just no funds available for any of them 😞
  19. Good that I don't need the new strings to arrive any time soon 😉
  20. I am selling this nice little Darkglass Microtubes B1K overdrive pedal, which I recently purchased second hand from a retail store. I only used it occasionally at home and it is in very good condition. Please note that the pedal does not come with the original box or anything else. UK shipping only (sorry!) and shipping costs are included. From the Darkglass website (https://www.darkglass.com/creation/microtubes-b1k😞 “The Microtubes B1K is a phenomenal tribute to one of our most legendary distortion circuits in a compact and intuitive format. We are proud to introduce our Microtubes B1K distortion pedal, the first of its kind from an all-new lineup. Front features: Level: Sets the volume of the overdriven signal. Drive: Sets the amount of saturation in the overdriven signal. Dimensions: Width: 50 mm /2″ Length: 45 mm/ 1¾″ Height: 100 mm / 4″ Weight: 205 g / 0.45 lb Warning: The Microtubes B1K has a current draw of 30 mA. Only use a regulated 9V DC adapter with a center-negative plug. Unregulated power supplies and/or higher voltages may result in suboptimal noise performance and even damage your unit, voiding the warranty. Back features: Blend: Mixes the clean input signal with the overdriven signal. The clean signal is fixed at unity gain, while the volume of the overdriven signal is set by the Level knob, allowing for fine control of the blend ratio. Turn clockwise to blend in the clean signal. Tone: Controls the high-frequency content of the sound. A variable low pass filter from 3 kHz to 8 kHz. Turn CCW for a brighter sound. Grunt: Provides a low-end boost to massively thicken your sound when engaged. MBoost: Gives a subtle 6 dB boost from 300 Hz to 1 kHz to help you cut through the mix.
  21. BTW, I found your bass' twin on Ebay (seller is in Japan). Looks like your asking price is very fair indeed 🙂 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/395495357328?_skw=Fender+Japan+PJR-65&itmmeta=01JCXGGF15P6AHC9W2263S6DNZ&hash=item5c155c3b90:g:KzcAAOSwK3tme8y9&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV
  22. I think yours is a PJR 65 - Jazz Bass Special. Here's one in black. Funnily, Danny also cannot decide whether the serial is a "C" or a "G" 🙂 Great sounding active bass (and Duff's is passive). GLWTS 👍
  23. Looks more like a G to me, so 87-88
  24. Duff bought his in a Guitar Center in Hollywood in 87 (from his advance for Appetite) and it was a 86 model.
