Yes, according to Thomas Dolby's FB Page he had a Stroke whilst in an induced coma a while ago. RIP. Really tragic. He was a really nice man and an excellent Musician.

Holdsworth himself said that he was ok with 20%of those that listened liking his music. Me - I've loved his music since Soft Machine and Gong. Main problem with Jaco was the pale imitations he inspired.

Luckily my bass is graphite so easy to disinfect compared to wood which is probably harbouring Covid-19 in its pores.
Shouldn't have bought an open pore finish Bass folks

HAHA! I see that the last lefty model like the one I just bought has gone from PMT's website. Come on, own up, was it any of you guys on here? 😉😎
Wasn't me. Impecunious after my 5th (lefty) Bass last weekend.

Do squizzers cause much damage to allotments?
They chomp through lots of produce (especially sweetcorn) along with the woodpigeons. Squirrels also eat fledgling songbirds so I fortify nestboxes.

After having a it for a few days I'm absolutely loving this bass, such a tone monster, the active circuit is a revelation after always playing passive basses
The only problem now is it shows up how inadequate my little bass combo is !!, think I need an upgrade
John 😎
This amp inadequacy is something I've noticed with my 5str. However through my friend's huge old Ampeg you realise that this Bass is startlingly good for the money. Thanks to @whynot from this forum

Who’d have thought we could live in a world where Oasis had ripped off Motley Crue as well as everyone else?
Who, in turn, had ripped off Killing Joke
Didn't Oasis have to pay royalties to the late Neil Innes for borrowing a Rutles Song? The Irony....

Check out some the deranged tops on the Kiesel page.

CHALLENGE!!!
Let's see what utter ridiculum exists out there! Post a picture of the most ridiculous bass you can find! It can be 1 string, 50 string, anything that loosely classes as a bass is fine!
If the mods are ok with it, my intention is to let this run for a month or so then run a poll, winner gets some kind of terrible prize! (It won't be worth much!) 😂
All just for funzies of course!
May I start with this utterly insane creation... (I will not be eligible for the terrible prize!)
Looks like one of those Klingon Blade Weapons.

Last couple of gigs were The Dead South - an eclectic Canadian bluegrass folk band at a sell out Rock City in Nottingham. A few days later I witnessed the supremely talented Phil X (lead guitarist with Bon Jovi) and his band Phil X and The Drills at the much smaller Rescue Rooms next door. An amazing gig with a guy who is not only amazingly talented but also very down to earth and fun to watch. A bargain at £13.50! It beggars belief that there are 2nd rate bands selling out Rock City main room (not The Dead South - they were excellent!) and there were less than a couple of hundred at this gig.
As someone once said - never confuse ability with popularity
Saw Allan Holdsworth in front of about 150 people @ Brentford Watermans Centre in 1990's.

I have an allotment so tree rats aren't my bestest buddies.

My M2 about 8lbs😉. Just plopped it on my bathroom scales
However my new KSD Proto J 5str rescue project is the heaviest thing I have ever tried. Will confirm accuracy of this impression via B/room Scale soonish, whilst avoiding any temptation to check My own!

VERY heavy pretty battered and I think John East is the way to go (if I ignore the cost versus bass purchase price !!!;). 35" scale a new sensation for me too. This is going to be a "project/rolling restoration" for sure.

Hello Jonathon. Nice Basses. Enjoy London, I tend to take the place for granted being a 4eva resident.

New Scotland Yard was on Broadway before they moved to The Embankment.
I remember a very popular fish and chip place there that insults it's customers if they don't pick up their takeaway orders promptly. Is that near/close to Horseferry?
