Now on offer to the highest Bidet.

The fearsome Luke Holland on a more metally mood. Or Thomas Haake if I could get round the complexity.
Bill Bruford - again complexity.

Yeah, the GK wall was amazing back then. I had never seen GK gear before. I got the first 1x12 stereo combo (cant remember the name, made of metal but very small), pile of poo, but looked good lol. I think there were the only dealers of Alligator gear. I loved the green and black look, and the knobs that lit up.
Alligator were the outfit in Hornsey / Finsbury Park weren't they. Remember visiting a tiny workshop with a pal and being very impressed with their product. Saw one of the amps on a Facebook Group recently.

Anyone remember Allbang and Strummit? I remember getting my first GK combo from them, and an Aligator head for keyboards. I really liked that shop. They some good gear high end in there, like ‘real’ Steinbergers. One and only time I played a headless guitar.
Used to go in and gaze longingly at Steinbergers and unattainable GK gear. Friend had GK gear and I was always mighty impressed, especially as I had a chronically unreliable Marshall 2x10 combo. No attitude in that shop as I recall. As I lived (still do) a 24 bus ride from Denmark St I was there a lot 80s early 90s.

Dave Weckl, Mike Clark, Tony Williams. If only I had even a scintilla of their talent.
Oh and Harvey Mason too.

Wunjo has sort of reinstated a Bass Cellar. Does seem a bit of an afterthought. However I was happy to see a few reasonable lefties. Tried a Warwick Rockbass with low expectations but really liked it. Quickly bought the Speaker Cable I wanted and preserved my credit card. They seemed OK there, I guess covid means anyone in retail still in work needs to up their game.

He was an amazing musician - Downwind (the album) was one of the soundtracks to my youth and had a definite influence on my playing style.
Moerlen was extraordinary.
The 2 "Gong" Albums with Allan Holdsworth and Francois Moze (bass) are timeless masterpieces Gazeuse and Expresso II. Both available on CD👍👍

Certainly the original Bass Cellar folks could be remarkably condescending & snooty.

Denmark St a shadow of it's former self and the entirety of the area has and is being ravaged by developers. Some greedy and trashy buildings.
However, Wunjo has a cellar with some Basses. Noden and A stairway to Kevin are still doing repair work. There's also a snooty boutique style shop charging top dollar.

He'll need to have the songs off Pat-ella.
-
Will sound better with a touch of phalange-er

Any further spare parts tibi-arranged ?
-
Any bits left over ? He'll be able to construct a Clavicle-chord.

My eyes are going funny looking at that!
Yeah, I don't "get" that pickguard configuration at all, though I've heard they're pretty acceptable instruments.
Must admit I still like my VM Jazz, apart from the excessive weight.

Why bother when below you're offered the option of a fretless 4 string Banana Bass for £145.53.
So gruesome that I can't be fagged to attempt to post the eBay link. Take a look if you feel like risking your optic nerves.

A pretty comprehensive selection of effects for a Bassist from way back when. Have to admit it was a Band that rather passed me by at the time. Should probably give them a try via utoob given the reputation conferred so many years later.

Also a new Collab between estimable Danish Guitarist Karl Mörner Ringstrøm and Bassist Henrik Lindner of Dirty Loops.

Sounds like a question to be run past @agedhorse

I had one a while back and all my basses run active with EMG’s. I found the best place to start was here..everthing up full and then small tweaks down. As mentioned, not necessary most times!
Many thanks, have consciously avoided an eq like that since my 1980s days of playing music on boogie boxes with graphic eq's😂😂.
Suppose I just have to forget ingrained notions from hi fi usage, i.e. running tone knobs flat or bypassed.
Have been trying the little thing through
1) A Laney N410 sounds very good tweeter at 1/2 setting. As usual I find this cab a delight and the little Amp sounds pretty hi-fi and goes too loud for home.
2) Laney N115 no tweeter
3) the Ashdown 410 that came with it, just old school.
4} Epifani UL212 which I correctly expected to be too hungry @ 4ohms for the Ashdown.
Still finding it's best through the old tungsten weight Trace 1818t so I will give your recomendation a go later and give my KSD 605 (audere pre and tapewounds) a run out. Will set pots flat and tweak the q switch till I get a starting point. We shall see how it goes. I need to do some displacement activity today, practice a better option than Nicotine & Coffee.

As per a previous TBer's mention of her single (which also jumped out of the radio for me), and after her featured artist slot on R6 music. Downloaded the Albertine Sarges album. Have to hitch the phone via my Hi-fi but still comes over pretty well. Intelligent pop music with only a couple of duds (IMHO).
Single was "Free" earlier on in this thread per posts by @Nail Soup and @Old Man Riva.

Dont capacitors discharge on their own over a couple of days, or do they store their charge for eons ?
To some extent true, I'm sure @agedhorse could give us some definitive info. There is the potential (geddit 😆) of a residual charge hanging in there and any sort of DC shock is emphatically life threatening. Valve amps more so than solid state but even so. I purchased a snuffer stick and discovered where to use it before I even cleared the dust out of my TE Ah500x. This had the additional benefit of me being able to do a visual check on the state of the Capacitors. Roll on to when my friends and I can go to the pals Dutch Barn and go for the full Spinal Tap option. 😂😂🙏🙏🙏

What - being stuck in the house 24x7 with a load of musical instruments looking at you...?
True nuff. Have been playing a lot, listening to music. Don't do Television anymote. Been shielding because I'm diabetic. Difficult to get any exercise more taxing than Bass and long walks where I live in C London. Not ideal.
