Wow. A 15 year necro thread.
That's a great Amp, an acquaintance had one of the Lynott (?) style ones. Awesome expensive and built like a bank vault

I bagged it....had to take a punt on this as I've coveted TE gear since I was a kid in a band who longed after the decent stuff, but had to make do and mend with whatever we could find in house clearance sales.
I'd like a trace preamp but I already have a nice Ra300. Currently doing duty as a stereo keyboard amplifier, it doesn't seem to get desperately hot even when im giving it beans...

The ra300 isn't all that heavy. Anyone see what the power of the Gp12smx, cant see a fan. ? 199 is a bargain really, bit far to travel for me sadly

Don't. Spring connectors work by deforming the copper wire, which prevents it from vibrating out. If tinned it's too stiff to deform. I've been using spring connectors for at least 30 years, have yet to have the wire pull out.
Victor Wooten lost all credibility when he started endorsing huge, and hugely expensive, power cables that don't do anything. I'm surprised he doesn't have a Shakti Stone atop his amp. Maybe they can't afford him? 😮
Maybe he should check out Gwyneth Paltrow's Jade Egg 😄😄 She can definitely afford him !

Neither do audiophools who spend a fortune on oversized cables that don't do anything other than depleting their bank accounts. 😉
Indeed, some of the Speaker Cable tomfoolery defies credulity. And Power cables.

Recall a conversation with a fellow lefty regarding the Tribute L2000s that Guitar Guitar were selling. We both had some QC problems that perturbed us. My used Tribute Fallout was flawless apart from a little glitch in the finish.
G&L seem to be the victims of some flakey management. Sad

If they offer a Tribute Asat bass and a Tribute Kiloton 5 all will be forgiven.
Seconded, but some occasional lefties please

I quite fancy a stage name, and think towns and villages are a good source. If I was funky enough it would be Rufus Stone, but when the Americana band I'm now in gets gigging I think I'll become Clent Hills.
I now aspire to Lickey Hills.
