Looking at the pics, they appear to be short and curlies.

This is a great book and a thoroughly excellent recommendation. Some uncomfortably reminiscent descriptions tho I'm not a great one for hallucinogens.

OK so I grabbed the Modal on sale or return and it does sound lovely.
Fatar keybed is excellent.
However some of the peripherals like the usb (type B !) seem a bit shoddy.
It's by no means as solid and user friendly as the Hydrasynth.
Will report further as I get into it, but the Yamaha MOX FX6 might have been a more sensible punt. Time to resist keyboard G.A.S !! Already got an improvised stereo rig (trace elliot ra300 ha ha) JOdeV

If I was looking for a hardware synth now, one of the Hydrasynth models would be top of my list.
I actually have a Hydrasynth Explorer, the Modal would be in addition and with 61 keys

Am mulling over used 61 key synths and this has caught my eye locally
Modal Argon . Cheaper than the used Gear4Music one on offer.
Anyone who can comment on these please advise me ...JOdeV

I saw them years ago in Leeds with TM Stevens on bass, what a gig that was.
Still worth seeing, Mike Clark still quite dynamic and Chris Severin sounded fine on a Seven String schecter. I'd go again, specially since I might scrounge another guest list spot from Mr Clark.

Nothing inspiring here for Bass Players
Wish I could have seen them live with the late Paul Jackson, so laid back and effortlessly funky. Did get to see latterday Headhunters with Mike Clark & Bill Summers at Ronnie's last year, was brilliant.

"Gourmet tone woods"? Oh dear. Interestingly, quite a few exotic woods are poisonous.
Afromosia dust is no fun. Woodworking pal of my dad's was careless with the sander and was hospitalised. Teak is toxic too.
