  1. So I had a little positive grid bias bass amp on my living room floor.

Grabbed it during the catastrophe and a very small amount of water drained so it wasn't full to the brim.

Is it worth taking to a tech for him to dry fully and safety check or is the thing simply a write off.... ????

Landlord will be paying either way, but the amp has a load of personal patches on it and I'd like to keep it.

Amazingly my basses synth and other amps cabs survived the deluge, including a CTM 30 & Laney Nexus Tube thank you hot covers . Flooding & giant capacitors would not have been fun.

  2. He also has a Precision style thing that mentions the intentionally inflicted woodworm holes and that he went for a "burnt floorboard " vibe.

Sad to say I quite like the look of these😳😳

By comparison to "he who must be unmentioned" these are masterpieces

It's the interior of a 1770s Italian violin, but it makes me think of a Viking longhouse ... can you imagine that as a glorious hall with a fire on the hearth?

All it needs is Grendel's arm to nail over the doorway.

Wouldn't look quite so pretty after a few years of soot from said hearth and the hole in the roof instead of a chimney.

I think we did the first couple of times, in much the same way as a whole pub cheers when someone drops a glass.

We kind of hoped they'd feel a bit self-conscious and STFU just a bit. But they didn't, and after 2 or 3 weeks of this we started dropping hints about ball gags and the like.

Despite the size it's not a sub, it's a bass guitar speaker. Used as a sub performance won't be great. https://products.electrovoice.com/binary/18BX Engineering Data Sheet.pdf

Used for bass guitar it will work pretty well, although the midrange dispersion angle would be narrow.

Bass Guitar is what it'll be used for.

Vendor used it with an SWR 410 (not approved combination I guess) Plus one of their lovely amps.

In my case I'll try it out with a Trace Elliot 1818t, at least a match in speaker size. Plus any of my Amplifiers. Though my new Laney Nexus Tube will be 1st in line.

Tone is like wine. some appreciate fine wine some are happy with plonk.

Resonant basses have more tone than non resonant basses, but that won't matter if all you want is thump, or a low rumble, or get your tone from a pedal board.

The irritating thing is when guys who aren't interested in, or can't hear, the finer points want to insist that they don't exist.

Equally not everyone aspires to Cork Sniffing / Hi Fi Buff standards of connoisseurship.

This in no way related to a Tone Wood debate ( that's something that Cherie Blair has to contend with afaic)

Mk5's, Mk6's and a 2 x 10 combo that looks like it might be an SMX 12 band eq. with dual compressor . I'll check.

Also have second hand spares for the earlier Trace amps, power modules,( inc bipolar bear), Transformers, preamps, speakers( inc some of the very heavy duty cast 15" speakers used in their premium cabs )  etc

Mike , I will also PM you regarding this and your other advert later today.  Might phone you this afternoon if I can still locate your phone no

Your Audere and TE1818t are doing Sterling Service still.

Hope you are keeping well ?
