1.
OK, so here we have people who say the plucking hand should not be perceived as the dominant one; therefore lefties can play a righty instrument with their "better" hand in the correct place. Yay. So,why isn't that true of righties then? Why isn't there an absolutely massive demand for lefty instruments, if you guys' "better" hand, the right, is more suited to the fretboard?
To be honest, this has long mystefied me. I mean, when you think about it logically, it does follow that one's most sensitive and for want of a better word 'dexterous' hand should be the one doing the fretting. So why is this not the case for 99.9% of us? How do we end up doing the comparitively ploddy plucking stuff with the same hand we write with, and doing the intricate notey stuff with our weaker limb? Why is it that it feels so natural to be doing it, effectively, arse about face?

 4. Bloody hell, Daryl Hall is born-again-cool who'd have thought it? Well that's my morning's listening sorted out. Thanks for the heads up.
 5.
Are any of the people who want to overturn the ban willing to stump up all legal fees and take responsibility for defending the site, or do you just expect the mods to do it for you?
7.
Sure, basschat could call Rickenbacker's bluff, but what would be the point? The mods and admins would risk massive hassle, stress, expense, and even risk losing the whole site, and in return for "victory" a few people would get to trade a few basses.
+1 x10[sup]12[/sup].
 8.
if you are a Bass/Guitar manufacturer, i would say you just have to expect copies of your instruments it is part of the business and rather moaning about copies i would be more concerned about improving the product i have out on the market at the moment .
Tell this to the Hall person. Let us know how you get on. Given his attitude so far, I suspect his response would be along the lines of 'sex and travel'.
 9.
I can't believe we're discussing this *again*. Personally I think asking basschat and the mods/admins to run the risk of legal action by Rickenbacker just so a few people can buy and sell some basses is extremely rude. Are any of the people who want to overturn the ban willing to stump up all legal fees and take responsibility for defending the site, or do you just expect the mods to do it for you?
10.
Well that's not really a fair question because I doubt Ped and Kiwi have the same resources available to them as I have at my disposal.
Nicely dodged.
If what you really mean to ask is whether I think Ped and Kiwi have done the right thing under the circumstances...
Not really, no. What I meant to ask was, 'what would you have done then?'

 12.
I have no interest in buying or selling Rickenbackers, real or fake, so I am not bothered either way, but I wonder why they seem to be able to trade Ricks with impunity over on Talkbass?
Maybe John Hall has never used bully boy tactics against TB or sent them cease-and-desist notices with dire warnings of law suits?
 13. Some pretty crap stills grabbed from a youtube vid of a 1989 gig show Dick's Zon to be a lot darker in colour. Although I'm sure he had more than one Zon -- it'd take a brave man to go on tour with one bass!
 14. I've long said that if I was a gtrist, I'd have a bashed up old Tele and a Parker MIDI Fly and that'd probably be it. The Fly guitars look great, sound great, weigh next to nothing and, to my mind anyway, are desperately cool. Agree/disagree?
 15.
F(ake)ender Jazz Bass V lefty, Fender or Squier don't make them so a Chinese fake will have to do (for now).
Oh my word, that is gorgeous If you don't mind me asking, what manufacturer and where did you get it? And more to the point, is it any good? I'd give both hind legs for something like that (albeit righthanded).

 20. You scored a Bass 350 for a ton?? Oh you spawny git. That's a fabulous bargain.
 21.
Axel makes fans wait for hours to see him before being bottled off stage. Why would Slash want to be part of that?
Agreed. Arsehl Rose needs to think about who put him where he is now, and treat the fans with a bit more respect. This swaggering on stage two hours late crap is simply not good enough.
