  1. Hi guys, Selling a 3 band + volume, 4 knob preamp from my new Sterling Ray34. Nothing wrong with it, has about 3 weeks old max and is better than previous Sterlings I've tried before. I'm just selling it as I've got a John East lying about that I'll try on this bass. £75 plus shipping or in hand from Northants / London. Brand new and will share pictures soon if need be! Best, Ander.
  2. Hi guys, selling a hand wound set of PJ pickups coming from my Limelight. As you can see there, these pickups are highly commended - that is the same bass and pickups we're talking about - vintage and with a night growl and good string balance/definition. I don't know much about them except that they're really good, hand wound and comparable to what you'd find in Aguilar and similar brands. For that, I've priced the set at ONO £100 (most sets from good brands are 200 and above). Happy to post at buyers expense or meet in Northampton / London. Best, Ander.
  3. Thank you @alyctes! @icastle/ @Kev or any mods, could you please move? 👼 Thanks!
  4. Well here I am with my new squeeze! I recently joined The Barking Poets (check us out!) and needed a bass fitting for the punk rock vibe we play. Got this one a week before the gig thanks to @Marc S and just couldn't be happier (top chap to deal with BTW). I got a lot of compliments on the day, it so looks the part! Now I want another one with maple board, I've seen a purple one in the past I'd love to own!! The relic is super genuine and makes me not worry about the occasional ding or stage affairs. Best, Ander. IMG_7030.heic
  5. I come here often just to appreciate it and drool over. Really wish I had the cash!
  6. Hey Kev! I ‘just’ need a clean tight tone for punk rock with a bit of grit, hopefully I won’t regret this....! It is correct, and as good as listening to your bass on headphones can be...!
  7. Damn, this is perfect. I’ve a couple things on sale, may have to reach out once I’ve the funds!
  8. Letting go of this superb, brand new D’Angelico guitar. This is the Excel SS, with Grover tuners, ebony knobs, mother of pearl inlays, Seymour Duncan ’59 with independent splits – that’ll give you 8 different sounds possible. Super fast and comfortable thin C neck, 20mm at fret 1 I believe, and 16” radius so ridiculous bends. Maple body and neck, hard case included. Purchased last month, I must have played like 3 hours on it so it’s spotless. Adjusted by myself to a resonant and comfortable 10.5-52 gauge. 24.75” scale. Looking around this guitar is between 1500 and 1800 everywhere, so take a bargain home! Only reason I’m selling is because I got a new band on bass and new bass rig is required. Shipping at buyer's cost, or collection from Northampton/London.
  9. Amazing pedal, less than a year old and in perfect running and aesthetical condition – sold with a Dunlop power supply – I may have the case somewhere but don’t count on it! Firmware to compress the full band in both clean and distortion modes installed from Darkglass Suite. Only reason for selling is I’m upgrading to the Microtubes 500 v2 amp – I want a power stage for gigs! Collection in Northampton/London or posting at buyer’s expense. £270!
  10. For sale this fantastic bass! This is a headless, multiscale top spec’d Ibanez that retails new for about £1400. The bass is impeccable and as new, only 6 months old as I got the last one on stock – I believe to date these are on back order for most retailers. Lightest bass I’ve seen, 3.1kg! Save £400 off! 33 to 35 multiscale, steel frets, burl top, neck thru, chambered african mahogany (zero feedback and lots of headroom), nordstrand pickups and upgraded John East metal knobs (much better if you ask me, originals included) – great tuning stability. Tools, straplocks, original gigbag and ramp included. Also adding a Mono Betty strap in Ash colour. Cash only unless you can offer a light Sterling Ray35 plus cash my way. Happy to deliver at buyers’ cost or collect in Northampton – I travel to London fairly often too.

  12. Ah so sorry bud, my apologies for being ‘that person’. I just never thought the site classicandcoolguitars.co.uk was the place, dummy me!!
  13. Guys sorry to bother but do any of you have details to order a Limelight? @attackbass @wateroftyne @Hobbayne sorry for the mentions but I can’t find anything!
  14. Hey bud what’s the weight on this?
  15. Hey buddy what's the weight on this beauty?
  16. Yep correct! better priced than Hipshots and perfect match to the knurled tuning head at the bridge!
  17. Cheers! I think it was not just worth it but pretty necessary - I was looking into the Hipshot ones but Jesus the bill was getting big! some £50+ for knobs....!
  18. Also, I'd say new knobs are a must! These are East, quite happy with their look - couldn't stand those cheap plasticky ones really.
  19. Yep - I couldn't consider the other options to be fair - Ibanez has done something great with a headless and a broad-ish neck, multiscale. I do love mine but I will say QC is definitely something that can be improved. It also begs the point that guitars may potentially have in general better QC than basses as they are more mass produced / bigger consumer base... ... I got to think about it when my new PRS Holcomb 7 - a £899 I got on offer from Peach for £699 with better finishes and sturdier feeling than the Ibby bass...
  20. Hm! Coincidentally I'm coming from a Grand Dark TM5 (on sale) and a Dingwall D-Roc 4 I sold recently - I would've loved to keep both but I had to do the adulting thing to save cash for home works - this bass is as versatile as those and has the added ergonomics and lightweight. Defo blue basses rock, cheers! The QC is a thing, indeed - I am lucky that mine is in good shape but I was on the fence to an extent - wanting a lightweight/headless 5 that can do both modern and more traditional sounds in a budget sub 1.5k£ / non-customs is tough too so I took a gamble and it worked for me! it can be (note isn't by default) narrower at the bridge - the maths is fine. However, the GWB1 will be probably narrower at the nut. The necks of the normal SRs are narrower than the EHBs This point is actually very good - the nut width will play it's role in the string spacing regardless. I do reckon though that these measures should be provided as a range, per bass - brands tend to just give you the adjusting spec of the bridge and just, which is only half the truth.
