  1. Looks like an absolutely superb instrument... @Gamble are you online?
  2. I'm not sure if Warwick ever got back to you on the details for this bass, but the S/N comes up on the Warwick site just fine and matches the item (attached). I'm also wondering if this bass is still available... perhaps not since thread went quiet back in early October.
  3. For me, the full chain is: Dunlop Tortex pick (0.73 or 0.88) DR Lo-Rider strings (medium) Warwick bass (Streamer LX4 or LX5) Van Damme cables with Neutrik jacks Korg tuner, MXR compressor, Darkglass Alpha-Omega pedals GK Fusion or Mesa Boogie head (preferably tube) SpeakOn cable(s) with Neutrik connectors (2 or 4 pole, depending on head/cab) GK or Mesa cab (preferably 4x10 + 1x15)
  4. Oh, that's nice! Thanks for taking a moment to post the photos. I'll take these off of your hands... Will send you pm. Thanks!
  5. Cool! Are you able to please post a photo of one of the pages? I'm just curious to know how the transcription looks... I might take these off your hands!
  6. Bought a really nice 6-string Warwick Bubinga bass from @seb. He was quick to respond to messages, extremely patient, and helped to sort out the shipping when ParcelFarce gave us a bit of a hard time (refusing to collect from his area of Scotland!). DPD agreed to ship the bass and it arrived today without delay in England. Very positive experience, so don't hesitate to buy or sell with Seb! Thanks again!
  7. The lockdowns gave me a chance to play "catch-up" with my band. I joined them in Autumn 2019, but had not yet mastered all of the songs in the current set. I rehearse at home pretty much every day, running through portions of the set. Nearly one year later and everything is sounding pretty good now!
  8. Thinking about selling my GK Legacy 800. I've had it for about a year, and even took into the recording studio in February, but have since realized that I really prefer the sound of a tube preamp! So, would plan to keep my MB Fusion 500 over the Legacy... Any takers? I still have the original box and the amp is perfect. Maybe I put a feeler out on the buy-and-sell pages.
  9. Still have quite a bit left from the 'Black Friday' string sale... but Ernie Ball Slinky 4 is almost gone!
  10. Still available? Any details regarding the woods (I'm guessing Ovangkol neck and Wenge fretboard?). Still has the original Warwick tuners, or did you upgrade them to something else?
  11. I recently discovered DR Lo-Rider strings... so off-loading some un-needed but brand new string sets. Consider this my contribution to Black Friday. All prices are each and INCLUDE within the UK: Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 4-String: £13 each (7 packs available ALL SOLD!) Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 5-String: £21 each (4 packs available) Warwick Black Label 5-String: £21 each (1 pack available) D'Addario Tape-Wound XL 5-String: £43 each (1 pack available ALL SOLD!)
  12. Sounds really great too. I'm very happy with the result! The open strings now have sustain which seems to last until the end of time... I saved the old stock Just-a-nut-II, in case I pass this bass along one day and some crazy collector wants the stock parts back on. However, that nut really had no real mass to it. The sustain was alright, but the open strings just didn't quite match with the fretted notes.
  13. Luthier is in lockdown, so decided to DIY install a new brass nut on this old Warwick Chrome Tone 5-string streamer. I'd never done a nut installation before, so was a bit apprehensive, but I have to say I'm really pleased with the result. The old nut was a Warwick Just-a-nut-II (stock for the bass), and while it wasn't broken it seemed very light weight and flimsy and the sound of the open strings didn't match the fretted notes (bell-bronze frets on this bass). So, I replaced it with a Warwick Just-a-nut-III. I just used two small dots of cyanoacrylate (CA) glue to hold the nut in place. Here's a photo documentation of the brass nut installation. I also took the opportunity to clean the Ebony fretboard with some lemon oil. NB: The original machine heads on this bass (stock Warwick) were completely shot (posts were moving around!). So I replaced those recently with some Schallers. The bass sounded great before, but sounds even better now!
  14. Bought a Radial JDI from Paddy (knicknack). He even agreed to hold onto it for me for well over a month, when I struggled to get home due to covid travel issues. Arrived in perfect condition, complete with original box and paperwork. Thanks a lot Paddy!
  15. Do the knob settings come fixed in place with official Flea duct-tape?
  16. Too bad it's not the 800 W version... although I could probably pump the 'send' from the Fusion 500S into the 'return' on my GK Legacy 800.
  17. It's a nice suggestion, but the geographic location for this Basschatter doesn't match with the eBay seller.
  18. If the seller is a Basschatter, he'd be better off selling the pedal here... no eBay or PayPal fees! I've gotten some great items from the folks on the forum here!
  19. I asked my bandmates to bid for me... they're all good friends who live nearby, but they are also very wise. The story raised red flags with them... they don't want to deal with him! Ha!
  20. Indeed that was my other hope, that he could see the post and stop blocking me... however now that I've called him knob on Basschat... ha!
  21. It's advertised here in the hope that someone might still get it for a reasonable price, even if it is not me. I hope that some Basschatter will benefit... although buyer beware... seller is a bit of a knob and I hope there are no other issues!
  22. And then each day eBay continues to taunt me... "is this item still of interest"? Well, yes, but I can't bid on it!
  23. I've been keen to get my hands on one of these Aguilar Chorusaurus pedals, but not keen to buy one new. After seeing a used one up for sale on eBay, but with a starting bid nearly that of a new pedal, I wrote the seller to see if they would accept an offer of around £125 (similar to what I have seen these go for used here in Basschat). They weren't keen to go down in price on the pedal, and then the 'auction' ended without a sale (surprise!). The item is listed by the seller again, but now with a starting bid of £120. "Hey, perfect! I'm happy to put in a bid just over that.", I thought. I go to put in my bid and what happens? The seller has blocked me from bidding on the item! I have 100% feedback and have had a profile on eBay for many years! I've never bought from this seller previously, and I'm not a friend or family member. The knob has blocked me, I suspect simply because they know I'll put in a low bid! So much for a fair 'auction' site eBay! I'm still very keen to pick up an Aguilar Chorusaurus pedal for about £125, so if you have one you'd like to pass along please let me know!
