1. Damn that is a shame, such a great bass. To my eyes, and i've played them; one of the top best basses that there is out there. If I only had the money... I would buy it instantly!
2. Is this really sold now? Wowwwww arrrrgggggggghhhhh want it!!
3. do you have pictures, and what is your price about?
4. Only the oil based dye will work, its getting obsorbed in the wood. like normal oil does...
5.
That's a great tip, thanks. Wonder if I can find that in the UK? If the one that comes still looks bad, I might go that route!
Well I've found here some in the UK al different colours and also ebony; http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Rustins...d-Dye-23110.htm
6. Yes it's ebony. Wenge is a lot more rough structure in the grain. Well ebony is perfect for fretless and the stain( the outside of the tree has this colour) does not effect the tone. Meaning all the different qualty of woods (A A+ A+++ etc) is just for cosmetic reasons not for sound differences. So you can get a new one al just for cosmetic reasons then. But if this one sound good and has no deadspots etc, then personaly, I would keep. Not every fretless of the same brand and type are perfect in tone, this differs from bass to bass. (there are also some fretboard darkners for ebony you can buy like this one http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Finishing_supp...oard_Stain.html .
7. Well on the website of East http://www.east-uk.com/ There are a lot of different preamps: J-retro (deluxe) U-retro (deluxe) is more flexible (larger sweep?) Marcus retro (marcus miller basses) DJ-Retro 01 (lakland daryl jones basses) Musicman like preamps Well there is a lot to choose (some time ago there were only the J-retro and U-retro) @SisterAbdullahX; I shure should try the Marcus Retro for your Fender Jazz(if it fits into your bass)
8. If you want to have the most tonal flexibility out of you bass I should really recomment the ACG preamp. I've just finished my first bass build, a Wal like mk1 type bass. Only this bass is neckthrough and of course the ACG preamp in it and two humbuckers. The sound is unbelievable (Thanks Allen!)! I can really get that Wal sound (also own a Wal), and much much more, from Alembic to P-bass to reggea dub bass en much more. Also maybe to mention is the U-retro also a great preamp, more modern sounding (what ever that means) then the J-retro I believe.
9. Bump! Let me know what you think of the price? I'm in for trades Wal Lefay (fretless) etc
10. Hello, Well this bass is unbelievable. Consistent in every note (no dead notes what so ever). And the B-string is killer!!!!!!(really no bullshit: I've never heard such a articulating and consistent b-string). This has no dings bumps scratches with one exception, the headstock at the end has a little ding. Well what is there to tell? a lot of technical stuff.... but I don't want to bother you with that. The images speak for them selves, don't you think? I am looking for 1800 euro, and thats a bargain. (shipment possible I am located in the Netherlands) Woods: body: mahony core with bubinga top neck: mahony with wenge novax fretboard (this one has that bluECube (+switch) for slapping)
11. So!!!! well I've send you an second bid, but still no reaction from you........ and not even a reply on the email.........
12. Hello Steve, I've just email'd you about the bass. Hope to hear your response. Cheers Diederick
13. Hello, did you also replace the trussrod? It's a common problem with these SD curlee's. I see a trussrodhole so I think its replaced? (I think its under license: orginal SD Curlee (butchersblock) had badass bridge, dimartso pickups, schaller tuners)
14.
ive giged this bad boy and its amazing....a wicked instrument!
How does the bass sound with this purpleheart top? Is it deep with punch/or bright or...... And I am concerned about the rosewood fingerboard; do the strings eat the wood or? Is there stringwear on the fingerboard? It would really help me out to get these questions answered, still heart nothing from seller, so geoffbassit if you please?
15. Hello devinebass, I've emailed (mail on this forum) you about this bass. Really looking forward hearing from you.
16. Well I am new here on this forum, from the Netherlands. I play the best bass in the world: WAL (british huh great great). Never want any other brand of bass again, nothing compares to a Wal bass !
