1. Hi there, still not sure of weight due to lack of scales, i'm sure its not heavy compared with other basses but will get it weighed ASAP
2. Not sure, I know it was my light option against my precision, in London currently will weigh it when I get back..
3. The price is £1000, bit of a typo, will sort that out when I get home..
4. Big lover of this pedal, really versatile, for the first few months I set everything flat and just adjusted the bias knob between Lo-fi dirt and fatness, this and the Tafm cured my GAS (hopefully) for a long time, always getting great comments about my tone from sound men!

6. When i said to a drummer i played with that i didn't really play with a pick he responded that it was like him not playing with brushes. i thought that was a good way of seeing it, bassists should play with fingers, pick and thumb in order to get the full range of tones and be able to adapt to what the song needs.
7. +1 to that, just gets better and better, paired mine with a rats tail and a xerograph for synth heaven!
8.
How useful are these heads for live situs? Are they more suited to recording do you think?
Hi there, the amp is good for live, kicks out a surprising amount for such a small amp but i guess there is always that thing where tube watts always seem to have a much higher apparent volume than solid state.. The only time i ran into trouble with it was in a very large venue where for some strange reason they decided not to put it through the PA! My guess is its much the same as using a B-15..
Where abouts are you based?
I'm based in Bristol, could work out shipping the amp if possible..
9. Thanks for all the kind words, and yeah, i think we played the Cardiff Barfly a few times back then.. At the time we were one of those bands who didn't quite fit in and the record company had trouble working out how to market us.. Was a fun band though.. The video actually got banned from MTV at the time for featuring crashed cars etc, seemed quite ridiculous but the media went very careful directly after 9/11 so a lot of people got hit with ridiculous bans!
10. Up for sale is this rare Musicman SixtyFive amp head with matching 1x15 cabinet.. These were the amps Leo Fender designed on the sly during his period of not being allowed to make things.. This amp is pretty unique in that it has a solid state preamp section with tube power, sounds odd but the sound is incredible, real old school heaven with the ability to do a bit more with the great EQ section. I used this for years as a "secret weapon" for recording, it also spent some time at Toybox studios in Bristol where it was always a popular choice. The great thing about this amp is that it is also very light! They designed these as bass / organ amps so its also great with keys and guitar.. i also found it was great for Double Bass.. Condition wise it is old of course so plenty of mojo and the occasional tolex tear, there is also a split in the silver speaker cloth but doesn't effect sound at all, its visible in these photos.. Its currently living in ideal conditions at a friends studio so until i grab it later in the week here are some photos from a while back.. It looks the same now but will take detailed photos of tubes etc.. 11. Played a show with King Salami and the Saveloy 3, they were genuinely lovely and put on a hilarious show!
12. i believe that if the promoter is a complete twat you should be allowed to hurt them... or at least leave.
13. A drunken friend showed everyone a video by my old band today, i ended up listening to some old stuff and couldn't decide if it was great or just wrong! Its mostly from around 2001 - 2003, we got signed but they had no idea how to market us around britpop so things went a bit sour before our album could be released.. Or even mixed for that matter! Its nice to share as no-one will hear this otherwise! An odd 5 piece band making music with instruments and kid's toys, for Bristolians the singer later became Kid Carpet and we were the ones who build Toybox Studios out of blagged carpet squares and hand dried sand... Id love to hear any thoughts, my bass playing on this annoys me in hindsight, like i say, the album never got finished so these are working mixes we took away.. https://soundcloud.com/guy-fowler/sets/actual-size or laugh at the video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhA70t5wdoU

16. I'm putting together a basic home studio, i need to do some remote recordings of bass as well as putting together sound for you tube videos and so forth. I have a focuswrite scarlet interface and use an Aguilar DB659 for recording direct, i need to get two mics, one for micing the bass cab and one for more general use.. Which two mics would people suggest?
