1. moving to upright does feel like discovering "real" bass, its harder to get a tone therefore more satisfying by far.. i used to play a lot of fretless but i got rid of my last electic fretless shortly after geting the upright.. i still love electric but only practice on the upright now, the only negative affect maybe is that sometimes when i swap to electric halfway through a gig or after playing upright for a period i tend to attack the strings so hard that i barely make notes happen! i tied a few EUB but most of the ones i tried sounded more like electric fretless to me, aparently the mo clifton EUB is a really good one tho, i heard one at a gig and it is the closest in sound i have experienced so far,,
2. bump, the franken p is at waghorns getting the midi bits removed, new pics as soon as its back..
3. bump. thinking about evil bay now, havnt got time to hang around this time!
4. would you consider some form of swap for the reverend, i wasnt really looking for another P but this one has my eye so im curious.. whats the neck width?
5. its difficult to prove obviously but it is an original 60's body that has been refinished black, this franken p was put together in the netherlands in about 1975, i got it from the original owner and added the darkstar, replaced the electronics (it came with some kind of "q-filter" electronics that are popular with country guitarists to thin out the sound, obviously it had no right being on a bass!) As to the sabre, im not sure, ive had a few musicmans over the years but ended my love afair after a pretty dissapointing sounding sterling!
6. just got them up, it said i posted some images that i was not allowed to,,, heres the body and neck..
7. bump for pics and prices, yeah, that is the one in waghorns! And someone but joes sabre cos id love him to have it!!
8. These basses are now for sale, financial woe meens i can no longer hang about so im offering these here on their way to evilbay.. 1 - Reverend Rumblefish PJ -750 ono This is a great bass, they are becoming increasingly sought after these days and rare on these shores.. This is a black early model that has been changed to a P/J By the addition of a G&L SB precision pickup, i also added a series/ parrallel pull / push pot on the volume to get the great fat sound that the XL series became known for, it comes with a spare pickguard and the original removed Jazz pickup so you can change it back into a J/J configuration.. 2 - Fender Darkstar Franken P -750 A black fender p body (60;s refin) with a 1972 jazz neck (the rare maple / black blocks and binding version) the neck has been defretted and refretted. The pickup is a darkstar, a great sounding pickup with amazing dynamic range, search threads on here or talkbass for details.. The Bass is currently fitted with a Hipshot/Graphtec Ghost Bridge and the midi hexpander so its fully wired for GK midi but i will likely remove these and sell separately... Everyone who plays this bass loves the slim and comfortable neck, not only does the darkstar sound great but the midi stuff drives a Vbass system like no other, you can also buy a curcuit that makes use of the pzetso bridge.. the photo above show the bass with midi stuff fitted, without it looks more like this,, 3 - Fender 1975 precision neck, rosewood 350 Great condition, a nice slab of rosewood, really great to play, tuners not included. 4 - Fender 1977 precison body, fully loaded 250 A stripped fender body with some routing that is covered by a pickguard, loaded with a wizard thumper precision pickup and a wizard '84 jazz pickup, anodised gold pickguard.. Get in touch if you have any interest in these,
9. yes, as stated i was away, in india, my hope to ship the pedals before i left were scuppered by last minute visa nightmares (anybody ever had to stand in THAT line?) i had intended to write to sshorepunk as soon as i got to india but couldn't remember my password and couldn't get into my account through the email informing me that i had a personal message, it kept saying i had no access rights.. Anyways, all paid for pedals will be shipped out tomorrow, all unanswered PMs will also be replied to, my thanks to kingforaday for helping clear things up when i couldn't, my public apologies also to sshorepunk although in defence of my honesty, replying to his PM was the first thing that i did when i got in after the 10 hour flight and 3 hour drive, before i even made a cup of tea!

16.
I'm quite interested in the looper but how are those momentary switches - are they plastic? They look a bit weak.
Hey there, the momentary switches are the same sturdy construction as the other footswitches with a rubber cover over the top, the switches are metal..
17. Sorry, the body is not for sale, just the neck!
18. i was thinking £200 ono for the neck a new one costs around £350 with taxes etc.. The fretless is a black korina body, also Warmoth, the pickups are Dark Stars and Baddass 2 bridge.. The bass now has a Goncalo Alves jazz neck and a badass 3 bridge, i will put a pic up as soon as i take one! Its not a light bass but its not as heavy as my precisions..
