1. This is an amazing reliced RS Guitarworks P Bass, Lindy Fran Pickup, made from aged wood with an amazing tone.. I know relics split people down the middle but this one is good, the neck felt just as comfortable as a '64 precision i was playing in denmark street, it is also than nice in-between profile, the nice worn down feel really adds to the comfort, the edges of the fingerboard are rolled to add to that worn in feel. The electronics are RS designed to give a wider spectrum of tones than the average p bass, it is also push / pull Series / paralell. The tuners are hipshot ultralights and the bridge is a Badass II (both also reliced beautifully) With flatwounds this is the ultimate funk machine! The bass is also light and well balanced and extremely comfortable, the only reason i am selling it is that i have fallen in love with the lakland decade and i really need the money!! I have used this bass live and in recordings where the "expanded" p tone really shines through, i also ended up using it in a theatre job over a vintage 70's fender because it simply sounded better! There is a load of info and pics of this exact bass at the RS Guitarworks website.. Hopefully this link will work... 2. Having attached the 75 p neck in this thread to the body of the bass shown below, the sale is now for the 1971 Jazz neck with blocks and binding and the gold 1977 Fender Precision Body with wizard pickups (pics further down this page, will sell together or separately, they look great together.. heres the original add..... This is a unique bass, i bought it about 6 years ago as a fretless and had it refretted and the darkstar pickup installed. The bass was assembled in this form and refinished in the late '70s, the body is a great light 60's body refinished black and the neck is a very slim jazz profile with black blocks and binding. Its a little too slim for me front to back, im more into fat precision necks so i have never quite got on with it.. hardware is a gotoh 201 bridge and reissue tuners, the pickup is a Dark Star, it has a great high output and is sensitive to dynamics, plucking softly gives a warm fat tone and playing really hard can give a great slightly distorted tone.. Much praise has been given to these pickups, they really give that "p bass on steroids" sound with the tone full up, rolling off the tone fully can give a great almost hollowbody sound.. The Strings are roundwound but swapping to flatwounds gives a mighty vintage tone. Its one of those basses that everyone i know absolutely loves, i keep getting put off selling it by people telling me im an idiot to but i have to accept that its just not getting the use it deserves.. There are a few dings here and there, the two round things either side of the bridge are to cover where there was previously a midi pickup.. this is a really cool and truly unique bass assembled from great old wood and sounds amazing.. Price drop to 700
3. would you consider a b:assmaster germanium?
4. hey, sorry for pic delays, my phone has chosen to stop taking pictures so i just need to borrow a camera!
5. doh, should have mentioned that, its a 4 string chrome bridge as shown in the pic..
6. Hey, you only need the midi device or a vbass to get this to work, the board etc are installed in the bass so you just have a GK output directly out of the bass, the extra volume knob is also fitted to the bass so you have control. I will post pics asap, theres a generic pick of everything here http://www.graphtech.com/product-520-2/
7. For sale, a germanium model B:assmaster excellent condition 110 posteed sounds amazing but just bought a valve pedal that suits me a little better. Also one E/H Bass Microsynth XO, missing one of the little plastic caps off a slider, couple of scratches but otherwise excellent TRADED
8. This is the excelent Hipshot Ghost Bridge loaded with Graphtec Pietzo saddles, there is also a Hexpander board and an extra volume knob for the midi output. This is the best pickup system i have found for bass midi, it outstrips the Roland midi pickup in terms of tracking and latency.. I have tried it with and AXON midi converter and my friend tried it with his VBASS system. in both cases we found it worked better than anything we had tried before.. Both bridge and board are in excellent condition £175 the lot
9. Sold to keefman.. Lack of internet made contact difficult recently but i have that sorted now for future sales!
10.
Has this sold?
BUMP.. back up for sale..
11.
Is this v1 or v2?
not sure, its down the practice room, how would i be able to tell? It is less than a year old if that helps? Ah, just checked the site and they have changed the colour? Mine is the darker green one..
12. Im starting a bit of a sell off of pedals, more to come.. Wren and Cuff Pickle Pie "b" A great bass fuzz based around the green big muff with a blend function that lest you dial in as much low end as you need.. This is one of the best bass fuzz pedals i have ever used, it gives a much better and more usable range of tones when compared the big muff.. £110 Posted in the UK
13. ive had the same keeping up with valve amps problem for a while, ive tried putting it through everything from an ampeg svt to a phil jones briefcase, the ampeg sounded great but i had to gaffer tape the f-holes to stop the feedback.. after trying out a friends acoustic image clarus i was converted to that.. Im not so keen on the electrric sound as i have never really enjoyed solid state amps but for double bass it is amazing.. There are notch filters etc for feedback control put i have never had to use them and it really punches through the amps. I ended up getting the louder model, the focus 2r because one came up on ebay.. ive been using a bergantino 1x12 for most gigs with an aguilar 212 for louder stuff, both sound great.. ranbling i know but hope this helps..
14. i was there back in 2001, its an amazing place to record, they have some boats you can mess around in aswell, endless fun.. Watch out for the white clay on the train tracks tho!
15. £350, was a bit drunk when i put this up so forgot to price it.. hope the description makes sense, the cab sounds great, i wish we had a bigger practice room!
16. I kept hold of this for a while to use on a series of larger gigs as a double bass cab but now i need to sell it, Up for grabs is my Aguilar GS212, its an amazing cab but im just not using it, to make things worse our practice room is very small and its always in the way.. Thats no way for this cab to be! I have gigged this on and off, it has survived a glastonbury with flying colours.. I replaced one of the speakers with an official aguilar replacement a while back, to be honest the old speaker is fine i think so i could include it as a spare.. Cosmetically the plastic corners are scuffed but they continue to do their job very well as the carpet and grill are in great shape, the name of my band was stencilled fantly on the underside of the cab but it is allmost faded away now.. Two of the casters arent working at the moment but could be easily replaced, as it is only the plactic "tryres" that are damaged i will look into trimming them a little so they spin again,, the cab is the 4 ohm model and takes 600w, sounds great, nice smooth tweeter too and im not usually a fan! I have some pics on my phone, now i just need to find the cable.. it is avalable to view in bristol or can be shipped, i have a large box another cab was sent in so will be safe. £350 pickup from bristol or shipping at cost..
17. that eminence one does look nice, most of the ones i have tried have been more stick like..
18. Thanks Rev, which ones did you see? I did try and go to see Ste's MOU gig that year but it clashed with one of mine, (i think i had 7 with 4 different bacds that year..ulp) I saw some pics though and it looked good to me! This glastonbury thing has been good for the vistics, allthough we have played Glastonbury for a few years now, we allways play on the smaller stages in the green fields etc, as the bands sound changed we found that we couldnt get a gig in 2009 as we were too heavy for the stages we had previously played (that and we left it way too late to apply) No idea which stage yet tho.. im still going to try and get one in Trash City or Arcadia, both areas were really good this year and most of the bands play after dark and after the main stages so there are loads of people passing through there..
19. heres one of my favourite worst.. no-one has managed to capture the "zombie eyes" thing that i apparently do all the time tho.. this is probably the closest..
20. hey there, shameless self promotion but i am quite excited about this.. http://www.glastowatch.co.uk/2009/glastonb...2010-announced/ not sure what the prize is yet exactly but it was great to play on a big stage (i think it was the jazz stage) i didnt think we were going to win so i hit the free bar and anything i could find after the gig, as a result my Decade got its first ding when i stumbled into a monitor when we had to come on and play another song..
