  1. Hi Andy. It is, though I’m still waiting to hear back from interested party #2 as to whether he’s interested in me shipping it to him. If not and/or I don’t hear back in a few days I’ll PM you!
  2. Bump.... these don’t come up that often by my reckoning!
  3. I’d recommend a Portamento.... because I’m selling one 🙂
  4. Hi Mick - I’ll get you a price and let you know!
  5. Hi - sure, I can get a shipping quote! It’ll take me a while though, please bear with me
  6. SOLD Warwick BC40 home combo. Reduced: £50 (no trades) 40w. 1 x 10" + horn. Nice little home-use combo. Not suitable for gig / drums situations. Somehow ok with a low B string, but really it's for normal EADG. Padded + unpadded inputs that you can use simultaneously. Also has headphone out and aux in on mini-jacks. Speaker is sound. Tweeter functions as expected. Some scuffs on corner protectors, and a light scratch on panel near aux in. Comes with long figure 8 power cable, no cover. On/off switch is on the rear panel. Collection preferred, or happy to discuss sending by courier too at buyer's expense. Also selling other basses, cabs and pedals at present in case anything else takes your fancy. 35 lbs / 16 kg 40w 370mm wide 470mm tall 380mm deep
  7. MarkBass Traveler 210, 2 x 10" + horn. £280 (no trades) Made in Italy. 8 ohm, 400w RMS. Comes with Roqsolid unpadded cover. Very easy one person lift. Hugely capable cab that I bought for home use.... but I just use my Barefaced for home, rehearsal and gigs now so it's sat around doing nothing. At least two owners including me. Usual scuffs on corner protectors and grill, but carpet is soundly attached, no rips. Speakers are sound - travel is normal, response is normal, no grinding / scratching when moving the cones. Tweeter functions as expected. Collection preferred, or will drive up to 45 minutes from PE11 postcode to deliver / meet. Happy to discuss sending by courier too at buyer's expense. Also selling other basses, cabs and pedals at present in case anything else takes your fancy. 38 lbs / 17.4 kg 400w RMS 8 ohm 330mm wide 590mm tall 435mm deep Dual Speakon / jack sockets x2
  8. GK Neo 212 8 Ohm. £400 (no trades) GK 212 8 ohm in great condition. A few scuffs on corner protectors, on the base of the cab and on the grill but there's no rips on the tolex, no bashed edges etc. Speakers are sound - travel is normal, response is normal, no grinding / scratching when moving the cones. Tweeter functions as expected. If you have a GK RB series head and a 4-pole Speakon, you can bi-amp the woofers and tweeters. Of course, it will happily run full-range with any amp including GK. Comes with Roqsolid cover (basic unpadded version) but NO speaker cable. Reasonably easy one-person lift, though if you're heading up 3 flights of stairs with it then grab a chum. Will take those push in / pull out castors. AFAIK I'm second owner from new. Previous owner stored it indoors covered, I've stored it in insulated garage, dry, dust free. I haven't used it since I got my Barefaced.... So, it's just taking up space and it's a lovely cab that should get some use. Collection preferred, or will drive up to 45 minutes from PE11 postcode to deliver / meet. Happy to discuss sending by courier too at buyer's expense. Also selling other basses, cabs and pedals at present in case anything else takes your fancy. Specs below from GK manual for the speaker. 50 lb / 23 kg 8 ohms 600w RMS / 1200w peak Sens 101dB Max SPL 129dB 590mm wide 620mm tall 415mm deep
  9. Ibanez SR1205 Premium 5-string. £650 (no trades) Feb 2014 Ibanez SR 1205 in good condition, owned by me since new. A few dings and scratches on the rear of body and lower horn, and some scuffs on top of the headstock but nothing heart-breaking - I've photographed them all as best I can. As you'll know after even a cursory glance at the internet, SR Premiums are fantastic. This is a really "alive", resonant bass. The stars of the show here are of course the Nordstrand Big Singles which produce a seriously meaty, crunchy, zingy and satisfying Jazz on steroids sound. But my newly acquired Dimension does power-Jazz single-coil sound (nearly) as well as the Nordies, plus it does "massive wall of humbucker goodness" too, so selling my little Ibby to free up space. Neck is good, truss rod is good, tuners are good, controls are good - no mechanical or electrical issues here. The factory case is in superb condition (though, like everyone who sells a Premium, I'm keeping the multi-tool!). Fitted with Dunlop dual function strap-locks (the bits that go on your strap NOT included)… original strap buttons included. Has a set of D'Addario ProSteel 45-135 fitted: have lost their zing but undented and plenty useable! Collection preferred, or will drive up to 1 hour from PE11 postcode to deliver / meet. Happy to discuss sending by courier too at buyer's expense. Also selling other basses, cabs and pedals at present in case anything else takes your fancy. 34" scale 9lb / 4.08kg (my scales aren't great!) 2 x Nordstrand Big Single pickups 24 frets 16.5mm string spacing at bridge 45mm nut (Black TUSQ XL) 305mm neck radius Bolt-on 5-piece Wenge and Bubinga neck with KTS titanium rods Gotoh tuners Active 9v, with EQ on/off switch (NOT an active/passive switch - preamp needs a battery even if EQ off) Volume / Blend / Bass / Mid / Treble Mid is switchable between 250 or 600Hz (toggle switch) Top-loading Monorail V bridge
  10. Yamaha BB425 5-string. £220 (no trades) Yamaha BB425 in outstanding condition. Two tiny, tiny scuffs on the rear but you've got to be close up, and they won't photograph! BBs are astonishingly good basses: this looks, sounds, feels and plays like a bass costing WAY more than this. Both pickups sound great: the P is fantastic - Yamaha Ps have a great sound all of their own, not a simple Fender clone. P+J together is funk-mungous. B-string is tight, neck is in excellent condition (truss rod turns fine), no fret buzz, pots are crackle free. Selling to free up space, as it's not going to get a look-in now I've snared a USA Dimension Deluxe V. Plus I'm a natural finish / active / humbuckers kinda guy really. No case or bag with this. Fitted with Schaller strap-locks (obviously including the bits that go on your strap)... I can't find the original strap buttons. Has a set of D'Addario ProSteel 45-135 fitted through-body: have lost their zing but undented and plenty useable! Collection preferred, or will drive up to 45 minutes from PE11 postcode to deliver / meet. Happy to discuss sending by courier too at buyer's expense. Also selling other basses, cabs and pedals at present in case anything else takes your fancy. 34" scale 9lb 4oz / 4.2 kg (my scales aren't great!) 21 frets 19mm string spacing at bridge 43mm nut 600mm neck radius Bolt-on Chrome hardware Passive Volume / Tone / 3-way pickup selector Top-load or string through body
  11. WITHDRAWN - Mods please close. Ibanez SRF705 Portamento fretless 5 string. £500 (no trades) Feb 2014 Portamento 5 string in good condition: one very light scratch on rear and one ding on the top (shown in photos). Fantastic bass: light, lovely to play and a huge range of sounds. The Aerosilk Piezo pickup is brilliant: really 'woody' tones. AFAIK I'm second owner from new: I'm never going to use a fretless with my band because it's 100% wrong for what we play and I've run out of space, hence the sale. https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/srf705_1p_05.html Collection preferred, or will drive up to an hour from PE11 postcode to deliver / meet. Happy to discuss sending by courier too at buyer's expense. 34" scale 7.7lb / 3.7kg Unlined '30 fret' neck (has side lines and dots) 16.5mm string spacing at bridge 45mm nut 305mm neck radius Neck-through Cosmo Black hardware Active 9 volt 2 x Bartolini MK1 pickups, each with own vol Bass/treble boost/cut Piezo bridge pickup with own vol Active tone Trim pots to adjust individual string volume There is some minor tarnishing on the hardware. Pots all function properly with no crackle. Tuners operate as you'd expect. Truss rod turns easily. Very low action: if you dig in, you'll likely want to increase the relief! I guess it's fitted with the D'Addario Chromes that it left the factory with... I've certainly never restrung it.
  12. I *NEED* to see the Stingray5 Special in Burnt Amber. Now they’ve dropped Natural (sad face, I wanted one), the only see grain option is Vintage Tobacco. And I gotta see the wood
  13. @bigjimmyc called it right. Barefaced is all things in this regard. I gig a Gen 3 Big Baby 2 (thus, horn and 12”), 8 ohm, and it pounds it out. Works really well with a small class D for home use too. Can’t imagine needing another, but the option is there.
  14. Man alive, those are some beautiful BBs! Excellent work!!
  15. I have the breaking strain of a kitkat. There will be others during the year I suspect!
  16. So after 26 years of playing I finally know my type of bass. 5, fretted, active 3 band, humbuckers. And I got to see some grain on the body. Gratuitous image follows. Happy New Year friends 🥳
  17. Don’t make me choose! Oh ok then: Ibanez BTB Prestige 1205. Korean, 2006, one owner from new. It’s SO heavy. Thin flat neck makes getting around a breeze, great B string, and the Bart pups and pre sound great. Really fat, centred, aggressive if you need it to be sound. Also love this because I’ve played it to death. Partial refret. Thumb’s worn a hole in the bridge pickup. Dings everywhere. Close runner up: 2011 ‘Ray. Screaming eBay bargain - £781 (not a typo). Dude had some cash, fancied trying bass, this was what he bought. Still had the plastic on the pickguard. Love this because it’s so different from the Ibby. Chunkier neck, but a joy to play and hugely versatile sounds. Plus, Honeyburst, maple and white is not only the best ‘Ray colour scheme ever, it’s the best bass colour scheme ever (fact).
  18. I took the 425 to rehearsal last Sunday, and again my conclusion is: 425 + GK + Barefaced = stick a fork in me, I’m done. I love this bass. It’s getting treated to Hipshot Ultralights but apart from that, it’s a belter!
  19. Gonna give Rich a bump because: 1) top bloke, have bought from him before and 2) Killer basses - recently got a 425. Honestly: this is SO much 5 string for the money.
  20. Thanks for the replies folks! I’m a little tongue in cheek when I say I NEED a 2025.... I’m not exactly short of basses and honestly this 425 is so good it’s likely to become my mainstay 🙂 But saying that: a 1025 would be a nice thing to have by the sound of it. Gotta be one of the old ones for me because I LOVE the chrome around the pups. Not sure I buy the “treatments” thing Yamaha is pushing atm - sounds like snake oil to me. Best way to “break a bass in” (if indeed that is a thing): gig it!
  21. So THIS worked well. Another delicious white 425 (which has been through at the hands of at least one of y’all).... First gig with it tonight. GK 700RB into a Barefaced 3rd gen Big Baby 2. Fresh set of D’addario ProSteel 45-135, obvs. SUCH a great P sound. With the GK, some lovely grind. This thing is way hotter and chucks out way more bass than all of my other basses at a fraction of the cost, and is just as well built and lovely to play as my USA ‘Ray 5. Had the neck pretty straight and action low so some nice clang. Maybe a touch too much... some adjustment needed. J didn’t get a lot of use: nice for a couple of Who numbers but the P had me hooked! Downsides: tuners not stellar. If it stays then they’re getting swapped for Hipshots as much for weight as usability. But on the strength of gigging this, the obvious thing to do is source a 2025. All my “Japanese” basses so far have been made in Indonesia... can’t imagine how well made a proper Jap one of these must be! Chuffed with this one. Pretty, too.
  22. Are you the original owner of this one, Al? If so you are wise like Yoda. Seems everyone should have a Yammy, I’m thinking
  23. I’m IN!!! Just picked up from a fellow Chatter. BB425. Always wanted a BB. Now I *need* a full fat Japanese one. But older model, so that CHROME is there.
