I'm putting this amp up for sale as I dont need an amp so powerful. Its just under a year old but due to a lack of a pre-amp until recently its only been used 4 times. I'm interested in the 680. Is it still available? Where are you based? Wazz -
Have broken the E string strung through the body on my Jazz during gigs 2 weeks running now. Its always the E string that goes too. Gonna string it through the bridge and see what happens. I think its the sharp angle as it goes over the saddle that makes it weak. I'm certain its fatigue as I've had one go whilst practising when I was playing finger style very lightly.

I have a jazz 5 american deluxe and think its great. B fits in with the sound of the other strings and I dont think its slack at all. Sound is great, build quality is excellent and balance is spot on.

is it as simple as the pickups being too high and overloading or saturating?

on my stingray it sits in the bridge under the E-string damper plate.

I prefer it sat horizontal on the floor as I think I get better bass response that way. I did have it on top of a lighting box for a while but I think it lacked something. If it has to go on the side to save space I put the horn to the floor if I want the full bass output. If there are noise restrictions I put the horn to the top to cut the bass a bit.

Boss GT6b effects unit in a custom made fully foamed flightcase. The flightcase lid can be removed so the unit is used on the floor sat in the base. Manual and mains adapter. The unit is in excellent condition but for one small scratch which I have tried to show in the pic. I was just wondering what position you favour for your Schroeder 1212 (or 1210 I guess). Sometimes space restrictions means that the cabinet has to be on its side so do you have the port and horn down or up? What difference do you think it makes either way? cheers W
