1. 100% here too....I think most of them were quite obvious choices, no real curveballs. I did get lucky on 1, though....!
2. Very sad. RIP to a man fully deserving legendary status.
3. The Holy Bible - Manic Street Preachers. Lyrically, one of my favourite collections of songs ever put together. An exemplary diagnosis of the human form in its many guises. Richey Edwards went missing not long after....this, for me, has always been 'his' album.
4. Fender Jazz Bass - Fiesta Red. For sale, no trades thanks. Bought by myself in August this year from Red Dog Music. I purchased the bass brand new. It's a 2013 build - so they had in stock for a bit! Stock, but brand new and unplayed. It was the only new one I found at the time. Since then, I've only used it for a short time at home. As such, the condition is (for a RW) exactly as it came to me. Dare I call it 'as new'! It is 3 months old. These now retail at over £1300. The relic job on this one is excellent. I've seen others that are very worn - this example is not. The photos show the detail - it's a beautiful bass. It will come with an immaculate, and close to new Gator GPE-TSA hardcase (cost around £120). Don't worry, the small sticker will be removed! Strung with Fender 9050L flats. I'll even throw in a used set as spares for you. Reason for selling - I'm going full-on short scale. Got one, getting another. This is my only other regular scale bass, so it must go. Weight-wise, it's lighter than a US Standard I sold earlier in the year (that was 9.1, I'd guess this around 8.5). These are very easy to play. So you have a showroom-fresh Roadworn, and an immaculate Gator hardcase - not to be confused with the cheaper variants. With a spare set of used strings! To buy this now would cost you over £1450. Looking for £875. Free postage UK, Europe please add on an extra £10. PayPal 'gift' or bank transfer. Here's an incentive - for cash on collection (or bank transfer funds in adavnce), you can also have the original deluxe Fender gig bag (unused), and a TGI Extreme gig bag (barely used) thrown in.That's another £50+ worth of extras. Free - collection only. Please note - this is only open to Basschatters with some sort of profile and history. If you have never posted, no avatar - sorry, but postage only. Based on the Romney Marsh in Kent. Please check my feedback for validity. My loss on this is another Basschatter's gain. Let's keep it in the community! Please PM if interested. Thanks for looking! SB
5. Good choice. I've read a lot about the 840 being a better buy than the 850. I'm a BM fan/geek!
6.
Oi! You beat me to it!
Smugglers-style duel it is then, LOL!
7. Welcome from deep down on the Romney Marsh!
8. Sold Chris a Fleetwood Mac CD. Transaction was speedy and super-smooth, Chris is a great chap to deal with with. Thanks again Chris, and enjoy!
9. Sadly, I haven't got Netflix or Sky Arts. So I've missed out on James Brown and XTC in the last few days. Come on BBC4, stop the repeats and give us some of this!
10. Looks cool. I'll certainly be getting that!
11. Rich bought my Flea Jazz bass. Brilliant transaction - Rich was super-smooth to deal with, instant payment and great communication throughout, A credit to BC - deal with 100% confidence. Thanks Rich!
12. Why is this still here? They're now priced at over £1300, if you can even find one. Amazing instruments, the RW series nail that vintage vibe far above the new US basses, IMHO. GLWTS- this should have gone in a flash!
13. Now sold - many thanks Richard! Thanks to other above for their kind comments as well - will be sad to see this one go.
14. FENDER 'FLEA' SIGNATURE JAZZ BASS Up for grabs here is my Fender Flea Jazz. It is is genuine reluctant sale - but given that another bass I've suffered long-term GAS for has become available, this has got to go. As the owner of another Road Worn Jazz, it's the Flea that's sadly in the hot seat. These basses have been praised - and with totally good reason. It's one of the Jazziest-Jazz basses I've heard. Currently strung with Fender 9050L flats. Condition of this is as new - as new 'Road Worn', that is. No new marks or dents. The neckplate I changed to a blank one (I'm not a Flea fan), but the original is included should you wish to show your appreciation for the man himself. It will also be packed in a hard case. These usually come with thin Fender gig bags - but this one will arrive in a used (but very good) Stagg 'Vintage' tweed case. These retail new at £90. No scales, but I confirm that this is a very light bass, very easy to handle. Only asking £750 for this. UK postage free, add £15 on for Europe. Payment by PayPal 'gift' please, or Bank Transfer is fine. Lots of Feedback, so please buy with confidence. Please PM with interest, and thanks for looking! 15. FLEETWOOD MAC - THEN PLAY ON - CD. I'm a music streaming service subscriber, but sometimes the odd album isn't on file - for example, this one! I bought this strictly to upload to my Google Play library. As such, it's literally been unwrapped, uploaded, and that's it! So you have an 'as new' CD copy of a classic album. 14 original album tracks, another 4 bonus. Including 'Oh Well' Parts 1 & 2. This was their 3rd album, and last with Peter Green (where my interest in FM ends!) Shipped UK free, only asking £5 for this. Payment by Paypal gift please, and it'll in your letterbox ASAP! PM with any interest, and thanks for looking! SB
16. Gorgeous - I keep GAS'ing the new anniversary edition. This one is worth buying for the sticker alone! GLWTS!
17. I noticed the site was down...hope all's good.
18. Very sad.
19. Great band IMHO,so many great tracks. Bit of a guilty pleasure for me....I'm always trying to get band to jam on 'You Sexy Thing'! Errol Brown, what a legend.
20. I hadn't started playing bass when he died, so I missed out by a few years. I became exposed to his talents via the music he was involved in, rather than chasing out recordings because of his involvement. Pre-internet, I buy getting records I liked, and had the 'who's that on bass' thing. That came afterwards, trying to find anything his played on! On a side note, the Michael Jackson program on Channel 5 last night, they interviewed Bobby Colomby because of his affiliation with Epic records. He was heavily involved in getting Jaco to a wider audience, so quite timely he was on this week.
21. You can never have too much JP. His playing offered something for all - groove, solo, he had it all. Never bettered in my opinion.
22. I've used Hotmail for some time now, usually works fine. I swapped over from easy.com - that was a seriously bad provider. The Hotmail was my backup, but had so many issues with Easy, that I chose to make it my default email. Never looked back!
