That’s the beauty of a shiny black bass.

I think somebody pointed out that the Gotoh might have grooves as well.
I think that is correct………so probably not Gotoh without saddle screw grooves.

The extra attachment holes are normally seen on the Gotoh version of the BBOT bridge. If it came from a Japanese Fender bass it might be possible that it came from new like that. I am not sure if Gotoh stamp their BBOT bridge.

TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.
Wise words! What I like might not be what you or others like.

Follow Frank’s wise advice above and persevere in the enjoyment. I can assure you that it will be worth it.

Fender uses Meguiars in their branded products for the same intended use.
Of course, the Fender product is way over-priced. The auto detailing world will lead you to the best prices, I’d bet.

Yes, a vernier gauge (caliper) will give you the correct dimension.
Recommend that you take several measurements to give you an average.

I'm a player of the 4 string version and, after owning various fretless basses, settled on the Pedulla.
It is hands-on the best instrument I have ever played. Somebody is in for a delight sooner or later....despite these uncertain times...
I’m also a player of the 4 string version and totally agree! Fantastic instrument.

Those who have them, keep them.
Not sure why it seems relatively few fretless MM’s are produced relative to the other name-brands.

Don’t overthink it. Simplify the bass line if you can and still retain the basics.

I normally take two basses with me. One is always passive. For smaller stages I pack a headless instrument if required.

I sing bv’s, enjoy it, and get satisfaction when I can hear myself consistently to stay on pitch in multi-part harmony arrangements. I find in-ears a great help for this. In general, I find the average jo-public to be more aware of the vocal quality of a band than the sound of the instruments. Bass……..what’s that?

I find Chromes slightly brighter overall than LaBellas. I have both on various P basses and like them equally. I’ll throw in that GHS Precision flats are also worth a try if you’re undecided which you prefer.

I suspect the introduction of the ME series is a cunning plan as a gateway drug to the Metroline and NYC models !

This is a killer compressor. The kit is not cheap, but excellent quality.

Charge a lot for a little piece of metal.
Like anything from Fender………and everywhere the same price!

The price versus quality comparisons would likely show the Japanese offerings to be the best of “Big F’s” entire range.

So, I'm the only one removing flats...
I remove them partially in order to oil the fingerboard from time to time and then put them back ☺️
