I don't own a signature bass and never have. I'm neither against them nor for them.
The closest I came to owning a signature bass (a Ricky 4001 CS) was back in the early/mid 90's when I passed up the chance to snag one new. I even played it and lusted over it. Couldn't persuade my missus at the time that it would be a good investment. We'd gone in to the music shop to try out a piano for our two boys to learn music on. Did a deal on a piano and that was that. The sequel to the story is that the piano "investment" was given to charity about 25 years later and neither of the boys took up that instrument. Hey, ho..........that 4001 CS is still out there though.

until I got a Peterson Stroboclip, the best clip on tuner by far imho.
Totally agree that the Peterson has the edge over the other clip-on tuners that I've had and used.

Liking that one on the right - is that a metallic copper finish?
Thanks.
Yes : Spanish Copper. It's a lovely sparkly colour in the right lighting.

The classic car guys that I know all swear by this product for (vinyl) seats:

I have never used it though, so cannot give first hand experience.

I don't really see the point of 'tug bars'. Does anyone actually use them any more or are they just for the sake of 'period correctness' on certain instruments?
I guess if you play "old school" with your thumb, then a tug bar gives you a place to put your fingers. Otherwise, it has nice "pose appeal"!

Great bass. I have an Elite Jazz in Ocean Turquoise. Ice Blue Metallic with maple fingerboard is perhaps an even nicer combination. String-through bridge and MM-style truss rod adjuster are two great features that didn't transfer to the Ultra range........so this bass is a real cracker!! GLWTS.

I have three Atelier Z basses and love all of them. My only gripe is that they can be a bit on the heavy side. That makes this bass a fantastic option. GLWTS.

I was about to re-start rehearsals a couple of months back...............and then fractured my arm. Operation, screws, pins, the "whole nine yards". Then endless physio sessions. Damn!
Last night was my first bass playing at a rehearsal........previously I was at last able to do backing vocals while a dep bass player stood in.
"Rusty" ain't the word..........but I felt elated despite the self criticism on technique and overall sluggish performance. We'll get there!

Totally agree. Bravewood nails the period relic thing better than many others.
Nice bass!!

These are indeed nice basses. They have the MM-style truss rod adjuster and through-bridge string option, which both disappeared when the Elite became the Ultra. Passive sound can be selected via active/passive micro-switch on scratch-plate. GLWTS.

Dutchies (northern region specifically) generally don't like to spend money on quality.
Zuinigheid??........or more locally specific 😉

I've had a Vanderkley 212 and 2x112. No real difference aside from portability and flexibility with the 2x112's. I used to take a single 12 to small café gigs and the two separate 112's to larger venues. To be fair, the Vanderkey neo cabinets are all quite light.
