A real shame! Both she and her brother - Keith Chegwin - have left us when still quite young. RIP.

If only I were in the UK!!!!
Lakland vary a bit in weight. With an ash body, are we talking like north of 10 Ibs (4.5 kg)?
Whatever.......beautiful bass and GLWTS

No personal experience.....but, our friends across the pond on that other bass forum have discussed the topic.

Loving them both.....especially that checker binding!!!
Enjoy.

My only issue would be the same one levelled against the ‘Gallery’ where you can add a bass to the basket, pay for it to then be told sorry, someone got in there before you, I presume that bigger outfits such as GAK or Andertons have more expensive stock control systems that update the levels upon a purchase.
this stung me when (for 9 hours) I was the proud paid up owner of a Wal MK1 only to be informed the next morning at 9:30am someone bought it an hour before me, but the bass was still showing as available.
That's naughty practice, indeed.

Has anyone ever installed flats to find they are dead ? I know it can be a problem with rounds but does this also apply to flats?
Really annoying is when one string is dead. However, some brands "design-in" a duller sounding low E string as part of the mystique. Intentionally thuddy from the outset. I seem to recall Pyramid flats having this.

I just concluded a purchase of a bass from Augusto (@italiancross). His communications were superb and he is clearly a caring, sincere person. Buy/sell with confidence if Augusto is part of the deal.
Grazie molto, Augusto!!

You might want to post this ad in the EUB section to target the interest a bit better.
Just a thought.

Agreed. They certainly look nice.
I've not come across the brand before.

Vanderkley amps and cabs are "top draw" quality. I have an Aurore and have been super happy with it.

Am I abnormal that I've played rosewood, maple, ebony and pao ferro boards and found not one jot of difference between them all beyond the aesthetic?
I'm much the same.
If I would try to analyse any preference it probably has a lot to do with "my first bass" experience and fond memories.
Much the same as hankering for the sweets and chocholate that one had as a kid........kinda sticks in the subconcious (or on the sofa in the case of the chocholate).

Everything Marc Vanderkley makes is high-end quality. I have never had any issues. Good luck with your sale.
Klasse!!!

Not heard of the brand/luthier who makes these but that colour is stunning and bet those pickups sound fantastic glwts
This was exactly my reaction. That colour just leaps out at you!
Obviously a quality instrument on just looks alone. GLWTS.

I have a Buzz 4 string from the same era. Stunning instrument to play; it is my reference fretless bass.
This one looks gorgeous and will no doubt bring the same grin to the face of any new owner as mine does for me.
GLWTS.

I keep seeing double. Should I get my eyes checked?

Not much more to add to the comments above.
Hum from the bridge pup was the reason I swapped out the pup's to Dimarzio pj's. I have creme ones, which also look cool with DR Black Beauties.
Otherwise, a nice light and resonant (basswood) body and super fast neck. The body dings up pretty fast and the black ones are fingerprint magnets!

I like that!!

It’s an odd colour - looks different in different lighting….
Gorgeous in all lighting situations, I'd say.
Great acquisition!! Well done.

a Ray Ross saddle-less. It's a weird bridge... any body got one?
No, but I have seen that Bacchus now specifies this bridge in their high-end instruments.
Not sure who else endorses or uses it.
I agree....it looks kinda weird.

If there is a slight weakness - and this might be a personal choice - check out the pickups.
Some folks exchange MIJ/CIJ Fender pickups citing "thin" sound and/or hum.
I've never found it a problem aside from an Aerodyne Jazz, which is a PJ configuration and hum from the bridge p.u. is expected.
It might help you if negotiating a deal to check this out if you get chance to demo the instrument.
Good luck.

Bought a lovely American Professional Precision V from Joni. Everything with the transaction went very smoothly. The instrument was correctly described and additional questions were answered in depth and very quickly. The packaging was the original Fender packaging - so no issues at all. The courier service (UPS) even delivered the bass earlier than anticipated. Very pleased.
Thanks, Joni.......you are a great example of how great transactions can happen on Basschat. Highly recommended!!!
