Hi All, I purchased a Squire Sonic P bass in California blue over the last weekend and it promptly arrived on Monday via a courier. Upon opening and admiring the lovely blue finish I took the QC tag off the tuner and gave it a quick once over. I checked the finish and all seemed fine until my observant wife noticed a very small chip to the paintwork n the underside of the body, annoying but I can live with it. I then I checked the neck and frets, neck fine and the odd “rough” fret but nothing I can’t easily remedy and then checking the tuners noticed that four of the screws on two separate tuners were only screwed halfway in. Considering it came with a fully approved, signed off QC tag, just what quantifies as a fail!? ok, it is a £130 squire that I bought as a practice and back up P bass. So, am I expecting too much, or is this standard for a Squire these days, in terms of quality control. I have photographed and reported the issues to the store and Fenders/Squires customer service, just to see the reaction. After fixing the issues, she plays like a dream, so I won’t be returning, perhaps I can put the chip down as road worn! 😉 Cheers, Steve.

For sale: Musicman Bongo 4 string in stealth black 2005 - £1,400 (SOLD) Sadly, I need to cull the heard further following the recent sale of my Rickenbacker 4003. Up next is my lovely punchy Musicman Bongo. The bass comes with the original hard case, sadly I do not have the case key. She is in good condition, with only a very small round chip on the back of the neck, which I have tried to capture in the photos, I am afraid the photos are not the best, but I hope to take some decent ones when I get home at the weekend. Works perfectly, but the compensated nut has a small split under the G string, it doesn’t affect the playability and I have sourced a new replacement from Musicman which I will include with the bass. UK sale only. Happy to courier at cost to your good self. I might consider a trade for a similar value bass in decent condition, Rickenbacker 4003 in Midnight Blue would definitely be of serious interest. Tradewise Rickenbacker 4003 Fender Marcus Miller Stingray 5er Kind Regards, Stephen.

SOLD For sale my 1985 5 string RSB Deluxe in black Works perfectly, but not in the best condition finish wise. Quite a few scratches in the finish and the odd ding, I have tried to photograph the worst of these marks, but as new she is not. Bought on a whim as I intended to have her cleaned up and possibly refinished but was cost prohibitive and I just don’t have the time, could do with a setup. There is some tarnishing to the gold tuners (as photographed) but the bridge remains in stunning condition. Not looking for a king’s ransom due to condition and happy to courier at cost to you within the UK. Cheers, Steve.
