Cheers for the info bud, i've got an East comming and a Nordy sitting ready to go in. Maybe the Ray34 pickup aint hot enough for a passive version..i dunno..anyway cheers

@mcnach does your tone controls work as per normal when the bass is in passive mode then ?

Last to go (for now) is this Satin Surf Green Jazz in immaculate condition. Fitted with Fender Vintage 74 spec pickups and a KickAss bridge it sounds & plays as it should and that's very well there's some grunt in the pups. The looms been replaced by one of John's creation and mighty fine it is too. Fender gig bag, certificate and all allen keys at hand. The Spector bug has hit so thats the only reason it's up for grabs...UK only please...Will post at cost or organise your own courier the bass will be well wrapped, bagged & boxed. I do have some feedback not a lot but all good...cheers for having a nose::: WITHDRAWING this Jazz, athritis says so 🙄

Aboot time yi got yur baffies aff..😉 sure you'll get there neebur. A bit glaikit about wiring meself mind but i did try the ray passive with a 2 and a 3 pot loom but wasn't for me thought it sounded very quiet. Sounds good adding the Jazz tho you can always try it & add a pre like the Sandberg 2 band one if needed i dunno. Have fun 👍

The bass player is well known on Youtube for doing bass reviews many of them relating to Rush of course but he is a phenomenal player who does pull some really fun faces while playing.
Messaged Tim a few times about his set up and he did take the the time to reply 👍 endorsed by Tech 21 & recently started working for them. His other bands called Funpipe mostly covers but damned good...cracking bass player

Sold Ben a Spector Euro in an easy straight forward sale, a quick chat on the phone & away the bass went. Paid when he said all in no worries, Ben's a gent to deal with thank you 👍

Thank you m8, just what i didn't wanna hear 😆...can see the Jazz going tata

Received this today, and its absolutely smashing..should have bought one years ago, the necks just wonderful i've never played a bass with the action so low it really does suit my sausage fingers to a T. DiMarzio's combined with the TonePump sound excellent all in very happy indeed..O & @Damonjames glad you didn't buy it 😁

Is that the one at bass direct? If so I believe it’s the one I played there. Bloody lovely bass, and high on my GAS list!!
Aye it is m8, kept on looking at it all the time...great being the boss in the house 😆

@Eldon Tyrell looking thru the Spector gear porn & i see you have a 1977 LE..is there any difference in neck profiles compared to the Euro's? I did read they were slimmer i dunno.

Yesterday out of the blue my wee mate sent me a text saying he was on leave from being offshore, he's a keen bass player and got some collection. I know he's had a Flea for sometime but the way things work out we never get a chance to catch up, anyway jokingly i asked if he was up for selling it...and he said yes...so after a belly full of McEwans export the deal was done. The neck is glorious bigger than a Jazz nut but the compound radius doesn't make it feel any bigger, lovely honk from the pup & pre all in very happy. Was saving up for a Spector aswell so it'll have to wait a bit longer
