  1. I'm not sure we have a clear definition of Pro or if there is one. Here's a scenario : " We have an 8 week European tour booked. We liked you and we feel you'd be a great match for the tour. It pays $400 00 a week. Can you be ready to join us at the airport next week ? " It's not allot of money but understand allot of bass players don't make allot of $$$ on these tours. Me, I'm pensioner with nothing holding me down. My answer would be yes. In this scenario am I a Pro? Blue
  2. Thanks again Dave. To be honest I'm not sure how stable we are. Members of the band are half my age and have careers and busy lifestyles. Daryl
  3. Dave , Yeah we play the HD Museum allot. We have an " in " with the director. However, as you know all it takes is a change in management and your back to square one. Daryl
  4. Thanks Marrtthebass. It's a great sounding room. Daryl
  5. Your in my prayers Martt. πŸ™ Daryl
  6. Dave, We'll be back at the HD museum on 1/14. I'll take some pics. Daryl
  7. I need to be famous. I'd be good at that.πŸ˜€ Daryl

  9. Not our best, however I'll post anyway. New Years Eve at The Barley Pop. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1149239815962581&id=100000222668845&sfnsn=mo&mibextid=RUbZ1f Blue
  10. Nice amount of playing space, love your back drop and cool looking drum kit. Blue
  11. Nice and I like the energy on stage.πŸ‘ Blue
  12. Like I said NYE gigs should be a " slam dunk " proposition. The room was packed and the dance floor filled. Highlights, the band sounded good, 3:00-6:00 I was home before 8:00. And everybody in the band got an extra 100 bucks in tips. Blue
  13. You know your having a good time if a shoe sails past your head or if someone falls backwards onto your monitor.πŸ˜€ Blue
  14. Great thread ! Guys, have a great NYE,whether your staying in or gigging. If you are gigging load up early and arrive early if you can. I hope all of you have engaged crowds and the band locks in tight within the first few bars. It's the last gig of the year for most of us. Have a blast and get home safely. Blue
  15. They use to play at the "sock hops" back in the early 70s at my college. Tom was using Orange way back then. The idea of the 12 string bass is cool , however I would imagine maintaining one would be a pain. Blue
  16. Love the artwork and promo poster.πŸ‘ Blue
  17. " More money" that's my favorite kind of money.πŸ˜€ Blue
  18. We don't have no smooches over here.πŸ˜’πŸ˜” Blue
  19. New Years Eve gigs are usually a "slam dunk" proposition. You guys will be just fine. Blue
  20. Three 30 minute sets is awesome. We don't have that here in the States.πŸ˜” Blue
  21. Great charity Norris. At my age the term Hospice is becoming too familiar. Blue
  22. We're playing The Barley Pop in Germantown, 3:00-6:00. This is our 3rd year playing this gig. Our band leader and husband are hosting an after party at their home. A long night for an "Old Timer" like me. Merry Christmas guys. Play, have fun and get home safely on New Years Eve. Blue
  23. Wow! Dave at our age driving to these gigs is not going to get easier.πŸ˜’ Daryl
  24. I've heard negative stories about Rics even the MIJ Ibanez copies which I would have thought were a good alternative. I'm not sure I could recognize a good Ric from a bad one. Daryl
  25. Agreed,I own and play just about every important traditional iconic bass out there, except a Ric. I would love to have one in my collection. Blue
