  1. Show tunes , movie sound tracks all rock and rock & roll genres. Theres not much I don't enjoy playing bass guitar to. Blue
  2. I have two 1990s MIJ Fender P 1951 reissues. One slab body and one contoured. They're my " work horse" basses ", they have never let me down Blue
  3. I wish my band could come up with a decent video. You guys sound cool to me. Blue
  4. I've had rehearsals and gigs where I've said; "And this is how I'm playing after 50 years" Blue
  5. Hi Pete For some of us it's only sooner . 😀 Daryl
  6. I'm fortunate that I have to depend on getting%ing paid from playing . Blue
  7. My Gibson Les Paul Gold Top Bass. I need to sell it. Blue
  8. We have done some Legion Hall gigs. It was like they moved a bar into a Nursing Home. A lot of folks in wheel chairs. We do a lot classic British Blues stuff from the 60s & 70s. Thing is at this point in time these folks are the generation that was listening to the stuff when they were young. I think it's really cool. Bringing back that spirit of youth for a few hours to these folks. God Bless Them. Blue
  9. No choice for us, it's the way she does business. Blue
  10. I like where your heads at.😄 Blue
  11. No band fund here and our band leader pays us in cash before every gig. No monkey business. Blue
  12. For me it'ss both. Riding home after a good gig with $500.00 cash in my wallet for playing for 70 minutes. I really felt like I had made it. Granted , that's happened once in the last 10 years. But it was a great ride home. Blue
  13. I've played to an enthusiastic crowd of 3,000 and the next day played to10 uninterested people in a small bar. All this stuff goes with the teritory. It depends on your life circumstance. Me, I have no interest in wine or a movie or even a date with a pretty woman over playing a gig. Not saying that won't change and probably sooner than later My point, we all will play crappy gigs. Money slut? Yeah , I get that a lot. " Blue ? Yeah if you throw him a hundred bucks hell do it" But that 100 bucks might make a $400.00 weekend for me. I'm a low level bar band guy. I know some of you don't need the money but I do. Blue
  14. I don't know how that franchise stuff would work. You make a good argument. Do Paul and Gene have kids that would be interestd in carrying the torch? Blue
  15. It wouldn't be suprised if KISS becomes a franchise where you would buy certain rights and perform. You would have to buy everything from KISS Corporate ( costumes wigs make up all production marketing promotion) , meet stringent performance and production standards. If one hair on a wig is out of place you would be fined. They would book you in specific regions . I really think this is coming. Blue
  16. This is not uncommon, as a matter of fact many ads for bass players are with bands also looking for a singer, guitarist or drummer. In other words a lot of bass player wanted ads are posted by 1 or 2 remaining members of a sinking ship. This is covered in many of my threads on Auditioning Blue
  17. I've heard some functions of the PA are only turned on for the Headliner. Blue
  18. Ive read that Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons say that KISS will continue even when they're not around anymore. Blue
  19. I know what you mean, but I believe he's singing in key. Those are our locak Midwest boys that did well for themselves. I use to go see them when they were playing bars in Milwaukee in the early 70s. I also got to hang with Rick at a Jeff Brck show in Milwaukee a few years back. Ricks father owned a music store. Rick would take Gibson and Fender guitars over to the UK and sell yhem to some of your stars.. He sold a few guitars to Jeff. Sorry for going off topic.. Blue
  20. Just like family businesses are passed down to the kids. These bands are also businesses and are passed down to the kids. Blue
