Very astute commentary. Time goes on it happened and I was lucky to be there. I also get that it's the past. We can't have 1970 in 2025. I'll say one thing. I could say more but I'll only say one. In 2025 Lu Lu looks fantastic. Daryl

We have Summerfest here in Milwaukee, world's largest music festival. The music industry has changed a lot since 1985. Summerfest is not the festival it used to be. How has Glastonbury changed since it started. Daryl

It's extremely rude. Daryl

I've seen people that do that. You're up there performing and they want to have a conversation with you. It's like they're saying; " You're not doing anything important so this is ok". Daryl

Isn't there a bass chat member that has a purple sparkle Thunderbird ? Daryl
-
Yes, It's neck thru. Daryl

Hi Dave, Here's a pic of my 1994 Gibson Thunderbird. It's a great bass. It's a shame I don't gig much with it. Daryl

Joanne Shaw Taylor in October. Cool retro 300 seat theater. 5 minute drive. Daryl

Dave, Agreed. In my neck of the woods the nicer upscale venues go out of their way to treat bands nice. These places always comp entrees and drinks for the band. At The Harley Motor the lady that supervises the place comes up to the band members before the last set to take our orders. Daryl

Thanks Geek99, Agreed, they had the same volume cissue for the lead singer in the band that played before us . Daryl

Hi Dave, The Electric Bass Guitar is a support instrument. Sure, you can take a solo but I don't think that was what it's original purpose was. Daryl
-
Ok, I thought with the combination of playing a Telecaster body style bass and usind a pick I could trick people into thinking I was some sort of groovy guitarist. Lol Daryl
-
I hope you survive the gig. Get well Last weekend when we played in 100° heat I sat down during 2 songs. It didn't seem like a big deal at the time, but when I saw some video it was not a good look for the band. Daryl

It seems like in some circles playing with a pick is frowned upon. As a teen I was " all in " with finger playing. I switched to playing with a pick about 25 years ago. For no reason other than the type of grooves and riffs I play are easier to execute with a pick. Daryl

Thanks again Dave. I'll leave thoise complicated solos to the jazz guys. Short, simple and sweet. I say get in and get out before something goes wrong.lol Daryl
-
Yes, I think I've seen photos of it. Daryl

Thanks Pete, You noticed the backlined Rumble 500. I've always been critical of Fender Bass amps. However, I was impressed with the Rumble 500. It had a very nice punch. Daryl
-
Thanks Muzz, Like I said, I'm not really a " take a solo " guy. However, the way Max our drummer lays back makes it tolerable. Daryl

Thanks Dave, The ankle is slowly healing. By the time I had taken the EKG and Chemical Stress Test too much healing had occurred and the Podiatrist called off the surgery. To be honest, I've never been comfortable taking solos. I felt like I had painted myself into a corner and couldn't find a way out. Lol Daryl

Thanks Obrienp, I'm not sure those guitars were properly mixed. Those guys were constantly tuning between songs. I mentioned this before. We had an hour break between sets . It was heaven to have an air conditioned trailer. Daryl

Very cool bass and beard. Daryl

I'm still working on it. We play the song so fast it's hard to come up with something. Daryl
-
Thanks Dclaassen, I put the MIJ 2000 Fender P away for a while. I'm back with my 1994 G&L. Daryl

Something new for me. When I arrive at a gig I make sure I know where all the railings are for stairs and use them. A clean stage is important to me now as well. I don't like a lot of leads all over the place. They're very easy to trip on and cause a fall. Daryl

That's a good idea. I could definitely see taping a set list on my Hofner. Daryl
