I've been playing in bands since 1967. I don't get involved with house sound or lights. Daryl

For Maple Road, we're a little different than other local bands. We have dedicated sound and lighting. Our band leaders husband has all the sound and lighting set up before we arrive. There's probably a few people around when we're checking. However for most of the gigs we play I don't think it matters. For the occasional theatre gigs it's completely out of our hands. There's a set time for the sound checks before the doors open. Daryl

Driving home, our old drummer " dropped off " after a late night gig and ran into a fence. He announced he was leaving the band at the next gig. His wife was not happy with the event. Daryl

You guys look great. I like the stage and the the lighting Daryl

Playing a pub that occasionally has live music. I struggle with that scenario when it happens to my band. I get the impression that the punters are saying, " I really didn't come here for music" . Daryl

Yes, you guys would do great there. It's a nice size room but not too big. Daryl

You guys look like your having a blast ! Daryl

I didn't think anyone would notice the "Hard Days Night" reference. Lol Daryl

Agreed, polite, humble and being overly nice to the entire staff. It goes along way. I've seen bands come in like they're doing you a favor just by their mere presence. I just don't understand where that kind of attitude gets you anywhere. And I understand it's not easy for everybody. I just happen to love talking to new people and making sure to make my conversation about them and what they're up to and not about me. Daryl

I'm never pitching the band so it's hard to come up with a big selling point. I think most of our gigs come from " call ins" so I can't imagine we have to pitch very much. " We're very clean" Would that work? Lol Daryl

It's kind of hard not to like AC/DC. Daryl

I hope this link works.

Yes, use the phrase and let us know if and when your band lays an egg. Lol Daryl

We're also one of the only local bands that has their own high quality sound and lighting. We have 3 divisions. 1. Maple Road Blues Band 2. She's Right I'm Left. ( Acoustic offering) 3. Sound & Lighting Daryl

We have trouble keeping drummers too. Daryl

We struggle with consistency. We can be really good at one gig and lay an egg at the next . Daryl

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?

I won't complain. It was " Midnight Rambler" not Rush. Lol Daryl -
Excellent I've been surprised by what trios can do. I saw a trio cover " Eleanor " by The Turtles with all the harmonies. Daryl

I think the main distinction between us and other local bands is the gregarious personality of our band leader and her husband. They're both really good at working a crowd. Daryl

"Delighted", that's where I like to be. I'm jealous of the pic, very cool. Daryl

Sounds productive Dave. Daryl -
What separates your band from the other bands in the areas you work in ? What do you have that others don't ? If you were pitching your band to a prospect, what would be your bast selling point. You can also add in areas where you think your band struggles. Daryl

Sounds like a nice weekend. Daryl

Dave, We're basically background music at The Harley Motor as well. However, we're set up in front of they're large horse shoe shaped bar and I know we draw more interest from the punters than most bands that play there. Daryl

Cool, is that an RCF sub and main on the far left ? We use RCF for our acoustic gigs. Daryl
