  1. Thanks for that Johnny, fingers crossed it has never happened to me, but they are a great pedal.
  2. Strange they went dull, I have used Ernie Ball on all my basses down the years and they would last forever and a day lol, I also have EB on my BB734 albeit flats and love them.
  3. What make of strings have you on now and gauge, glad you're enjoying the bb

    So..Sire

Out of guarantee, so I did a mod, what's the problem with that !

    So..Sire

How to loose money big time ................buy a Sire bass I had to change the bridge to a Gotoh 404, (brilliant bridge) the saddle springs on the Sire were so weak you could very easily move them out of position and buger up the intonation, the bass sits here I never use it.
  6. I was going to get myself a Jack Casady around the time i purchased the Sire, wish I had now lol Way back about 100 years ago lol I had a Wilson bass, it was styled on the 335 body and built in England somewhere, loved it, and now they fetch big bucks, if you can find one
  7. I do indeed, nice guitar it's not that old, think I got it around 2006/8 give or take
  8. Funny I weighed my collection last week and my Musicman is 10.21lb that's why it hangs on the wall now, my Sire V7 is 9.29 lb (it's for sale) the Yamaha 734 8.69lb that's my player and the Gibson 335 is 9.7lb, I was just curious with that one lol
  9. Funny I have a Sire V7 4 string here I only gigged a few times and I'm looking to sell, as it didn't work out for me either !
  10. Glad it's working out for you, I don't have the P34 but I do have a BB734, I was getting a bad sound from the E string (very dead thud) I turned the saddle around to work in the same way it's setup on a 5 string and now I have great sustain and sounds a lot better. I played a Music man since 1980 and it took a while to adjust to the Yamaha, but I must admit it's a great bass to play and a lot lighter on the shoulder after a two hour gig lol, happy days.

  12. Variety is the very spice of life, that gives it all its flavor
  13. There ain't a big difference in it
  14. I found this photo of a 735a on a U.S bass site painted red and I think it looks brilliant, what you think ?
  15. Yea I have the 734 and it's a great bass, but just a pity Yamaha let it go on the market without noise cancelling bridge pickup and the jack socket looks like it was meant for another bass, the plate overlaps the edge of the body ! minor things you may say, but for the price those faults should have been seen at the start.
  16. Any chance I could have their email address or website please ? Cheers
  17. I have my 79' from new hanging on the wall, reason I don't use it. it's too heavy for me now, but I wouldn't sell it !
  18. SOLD SOLD Loaded preamp plate Came off Sire 2017 V7 Marcus Miller, working fine £45 plus shipping
  19. Can you adjust the pole pieces for each string ? Looking for the bridge pup only
  20. The Fender bag, what's the measurement length inside top to bottom and would you post??
  21. Thanks for the reply and yes single coil pups do cause problems ok, I did contact Yamaha to see had they noise cancelling replacements for the 734, but nope ! and as you say ChrisJaxon something Yamaha should have eliminated. I was looking at Seymour Duncan Apollo Jazz Bridge pup , also Dimarzio Ultra Jazz bridge pup but I love the sound of the Yamaha ! Maybe when it's out of guarantee I'll change it
