Beautiful. Why did you go for a two saddle bridge, these are notoriously difficult to get intonated?

I did ask for 4 saddle but then went old school and it’s intonated ok - I don’t go up the dusty end much - maybe the odd chord. That said I wanted the truss rod at the top, so I could get at it - so not too traditional

  2. Had this made by James Mitchell in Electric Relic Co in Bath

Lot of thought went into what i wanted - aftermarket natural 54 contour body in alder not ash, chunky neck no fake logo, hand wound Fralin pickup, cloth wiring, 0.10 orange drop capacitor, old bridge, low tension La Bella flats and then let James do his thing - had to tweak it a bit since getting it and had one proper rehearsal but love the thing already - took 8 weeks from order to delivery approx and sold 2 basses to pay for it - inc one PB that I loved - but I'm happy - it's fairly lightweight and sounds like the 70s - I doubt i'd have the money if this was original - it wasn't cheap but it's a lovely thing

  3. This is the by far best P i've ever owned (of all the basses i've had) - mojo city - when I got it it needed serious work for the price I paid- got the neck straightening and electrics sorted - needed new volume pot - the knurled knobs are reliced ones from Netherlands as someone put on witch hats that looked awful - I got set up with TI flats and it's the lowest action ever (the video below was supporting Peter Bruntnell and Pete their bassist said it was the lowest action he'd seen and loved the bass) - just plays like a dream but due to stupid GAS i'm funding a custom build (dream 50s P with my slant on it) - so I'm selling this (my band are going to not let me forget this due to my gushing about this bass - but I can only have on P at a time -i'll read this back in a year and realise i'm an idiot but GAS is real) it deserves to be gigged and recorded. It weighs about 8lbs and is pretty light - the pickups are superb - super P sound - the frets are about 80% still great. I've put on a black scratchplate but comes with original red tort one. No gig bag

As you'll see for them pics that it has aged beautifully - you'll also notice dings - scratches where there used to be an ugly sticker - it was imported from Japan (duh the CIJ bit obv but stickers were awful) but on the front there's what i think is a pretty cool sticker and considering i play alt-country and the colours go with the cream scheme. Some people will be put off by this, whereas if you're like me it just adds to it and makes it unique and be hard to nick and sell on. Price reflects this as i'm taking a bit of a hit on it after luthier work, pot, knobs plate and flats cost.

I have a fender box i can ship anywhere to uk inc in price - though happy to knock off £25 for collection or within 30 mile meet up

  4. Selling this lovely sunburst arch top Rivoli 98 reissue in great condition from Peerless factory- set up with low tension la Bella flats (my new fave string topping TI flats) the tone is superb and I’m only selling has the neck feels too narrow for my meaty big paws - it’s a pity but I prefer a wider neck. It’s 38mm at nut and about 8lbs in weight

The baritone switch has been taken off the circuit. One thing to note the jack needs a locking washer - it loosens occasionally but only a tad - there if you stand in front of amp there’s a hum like 60hz but if you angle away then quiet. Might find if locking washer might get better connection - it’s not a major issue but I believe in stating everything in the ad

Comes with hard case and scratch plate which I’ll reinstall

Priced to sell £600 firm price - £20 delivery to uk or pick up/ meet up Clitheroe or North UK - an hours drive from Clitheroe acceptable

Thanks for looking any questions let me know.

This looks like a quality bass and great value 👍

Thanks it is really nice - not too bothered if it doesn't sell  but it's not getting used by me as much as it should - could be a great project for someone - maybe some hipshot tuners etc - neck is very similar in feel to the Bruce Thomas bass but not an ebony board but satin back

Im intrigued about how this sounds

I have no accurate way of recording it, i could try iphone but it wont do it justice - but it doesn't sound like a PBass has much more smooth deep end, scooped mids and still lot of high end- obviously the tapes are going to give that but more of an upright sound, hard to describe, the KA pickup is great  - the neck is really nice to play too

  7. Hofner violin bass that has been relic’d with that horrible high gloss taken back, finished with light nitro. Comes with fitted hard case and beatle bass flats - super low action and huge thumpy goodness bought for a project that didn’t happen. Gassing for another semi chickenbacker as don’t have have £s for a 4005

Weight as you can imagine is very light. Neck is a good chunk in the hand. Very punchy. Preferred tone for me is solo on, bass on treble off - a Mecca to Macca

    £20 to ship to UK

It's your now sir, so go nuts!

The flats on it at the moment aren't very "boutique" - they're Adagio flats (45-100, I think). I use them on my Bruce Thomas signature  P Bass and a lovely old Squier which I picked up in a pretty shoddy state for not much money a few years back. I'm in no rush to swap them for something swankier just yet. I've got (black Picato) tapewounds on a cracking Eros semi acoustic bass - old school thump for days.

I had a Bruce Thomas bass - if my 63 reissue hadnt popped up i'd still have it - awesome basses - what a neck on that one - got tapes on my acoustic and think the low tension will suit this neck on the Rushbo Fedner
