  1. Absolutely, but this one seems a replacement to me. It didn't aged like the 3 others and the head-screw has a different size too.
  2. I'm selling my 1974 jazz bass. All-original, except the long G screw on the bridge which seems being a replacement part. Neck was built in 1972, pots too, pickups are from 1974, solder joints being untouched. The bass is in road worn condition, many crazes on the body, yellowed lacquer which came off in some areas on the back of the body, but there's no structural damage at all. The (flame) maple neck is straight with low action and stiff enough for 45-105 rounds, with nice margin left on the trussrod. Frets are used but not abused. Bass is on the light side too : 9 lbs / 4,1 kg. As for electronics, pickups and pots work fine. Nice output, effective tone cap and instant 70s jazz bass tones. It's a killer bass with pick, fingerstyle, slap&pops and super fat with flat wounds. Loads of heft, presence and articulation. It comes with an early 70s Fender original case, in quite poor condition (see pics). £2630 / 3000€, price lowered this week-end : 2800€ ! Can arrange shipping, cost depending on which shipping company chosen.
  3. Thank you, it's a lovely bass indeed, super comfy to play and with great tone. I know i should keep it, took ages to find one at a decent price and with the Classic wood combo (alder body).
  4. Yeah the Messenger is now updated in a more compact version, with some added features and some you don't get anymore. I prefer his previous version (as for features, didn't tried the latest one). Best transparent preamp in a pedal format i'm aware of. Thing is his new small batches releases are quite hard to purchase, they're gone within seconds. You can play this game, wait for 2nd hand, or wait flavour of the month is on something else. Atm the Monocomp is available, it's a great opto-comp when fed with 12-18V to my ears, got one, it's pretty killer. Wouldn't sleep on it, when they're gone, it's too late !
  5. In the tubey but not with tubes department, you can get a wide array of tones with the Free The Tone Black Vehicle. The (switchable) is great, let you choose between more volume or more gain. And it sounds quite tubey to my ears. Pricey but a real super nice pedal.
  6. Yeah, you get these tight but fat lows and can tune them to your room. Combined with the semi-parametric mids, which are just great, you get a pretty unique pedal which is a filtering but also a powerful EQing tool. As for EQing, i quite like being able to shape my high and low mids differently, which Broughton Messenger does brilliantly, but RFE paired with a nice tube preamp get me this too. Sorry i'm kind of a fanboy of Josh's work, but he builds some pretty interesting bass-friendly stuff. Lunchbox SSDI and P-15 are pure magic ime.
  7. Got one, always-on on my pedalboard. It not only sweetens corners, removing mud and fizzy harshness, it's also a tone shaping tool. I believe being able to have a boost with a narrow Q on your cut-off frequency is a studio technique, which improves the slope effect. This in a pedal is just great. His HPF/LPF is super nice, but a very different beast IME.
  8. With a boost, it's a complete different beast. It's as gainy as my Malekko Diabolik if it's what i'm looking for. Same lpf'd lows too !
  9. Worth trying a boost/dirt boost before IMO, massive thick fuzzy madness 😉 The pedal itself isn't super gainy even with fuzz knob dimed.
  10. Got a Tim Lefebvre signature and it's the bomb with an active bass. Sounds massive, especially when fed with some dirt boost / overdriven signal.
  11. Bump ! Got some dry/no fx whatsoever stuff if someone's interested by the Fender CS. It really is a great jazz.
  12. I was asked a few more detailed pics of the jazz bass, sharing some of them. It's not a museum piece but the bass is in pretty good condition, especially considering it's full-nitro lacquered. Neck's super fast, no shim, low action without fretbuzz, it's an awesome jazz bass.
  13. 😅 - we talked about this bass a few days ago with Jeff (bassmasta2b). No worry at all Andy ! It's an awesome bass, esp. considering the price asked for.
  14. It took ages to be delivered, but the Guild is now in its new home, safe and sound.
  15. Seriously distinctive tone there, and a cracker too ! GLWYS mate
  16. There was a trade deal incoming on this one, but it falls apart. To keep things short, the vintage P on trade was supposedly original but had an obvious refret when the bass was at home. Anyway it's back for sale folks, and believe me, this jazz bass is a sweet one.
  17. Price drop £316 / 350€ shipped to your door in European countries. Don't sleep on this one, you won't see many of these. These come super close to OG Fender pre-CBS specs. I can't think of a parts builder which would be closer to these specs (veneer RW fingerboard, same density between Honduras and Brazilian RW, full-nitro, slim frets...).
  18. Thank you (all !), these are seriously underrated basses indeed. B-302 neck pickup blows away what i heard from my (old) 4003s and 4001 V63. Got to say i'm a little on the fence with parting with the Guild. They're becoming harder to find, and they got pretty unique tones. Don't sleep on it !
  19. I'm selling my Guild B-302 bass. It's an awesome rock machine built in 1979 according to the serial number. Tons of mojo hence crazes, checking, mahogany body and neck which can be seen here and there through the black finish. It's not in immaculate condition obviously, but nothing unusual from a bass having been played for decades. Please note pickguard's split near the jack input. It had a refret in its life, neck's super straight and stiff. There's lots of margin in the trussrod with 45-105 Lo Rider rounds. Nice low action (2,5mm above the 12th fret on E side, 2mm on G side). Neck's super stable. A strap hole has been added on the heel, but it's not super useful, neck-diving isn't bad on this one. Medium-weight : 4,3kg / lbs 9.5. Pickups are in awesome working condition. Tons of output, punch, sustain and articulation. These pickups are the cream of the crop, the bass has super deep and massive tones. Comes with OG Guild flight-case in ok condition. £915 / 1000€ shipped to your door in european countries.
  20. £1050 / 1150€ shipped to your door in european countries.
  21. Price-drop bump £1140 / 1250€ shipped to your door. You get a lot of bass for that money !
  22. For your consideration this super nice Navigator neck made in Japan by Navigator luthiers in 2010. It's a N-JB neck, from basses which sell JPY 380 000 new. High-end part full nitro lacquered with gorgeous Honduras rosewood veneer fingerboard, super slim frets in pretty nice shape and 9.5 radius. Neck's dead-straight, no neck-heel, no fret-buzz, even with low action (2mm above 12th fret). It fits your usual Fender neck-heel perfectly. Jazz bass width at the nut (38mm). Trussrod works perfectly, and has not much effort to do to get nice action with 45-105 strings. On the pic with the trussrod nut, the nut is completely loosened. They're built this way. (Original) Oil bone nut and new Gotoh GB-2 tuning pegs. £360 / 400€, dropped to : £316 / 350€ shipped to your door in European countries.
