  1. Loved this! Guy Pratt is an absolute legend, that octave sound he has is outstanding.

Regarding who id like to see next.. definitely pino or flee..or Norman Watt-Roy.  But even guys like Paul Turner could be interesting, he's played with alot of people and would be good to get a good close look at his playing.

  2. For me the key is use eq sparingly. Toovmuch of any frequency does more harm than good.  Mids are key but that doesn't necessarily mean automatically boosting them. You might find your amp and bass  provide sufficient mids with the eq flat.. that's what I do most of the time!

  3. i used one as my main preamp/tone creator for years and it was perfectly good at it. only moved it on because I got an HX stomp!

I've now got one on my board along with my stomp and other various things and its a tuner, and an always on compressor and EQ - This leaves the HX stomp to be all the important stuff!.  I've currently got the footswitch set to an envelope filter, but i change it about depending on what I fancy that night!

For 50-60 quid second hand, for me its a no brainer!

  4. I love my helix for bass, but probably even more for guitar.  But I do notice that gain staging is more important on helix than pretty much any other FX I've used. Less is more when it comes to gain on each block. Plus, use the global EQ and stick some low and high passes on if you havent already, Think mines set to 40hz and 8khz. Might seem a bit narrow but for live use it works a treat. On my guitar patches I low pass the IR's quite alot just to get that nasty tingle off them.

  5. I'm more satisfied with my current bass.. yamaha bb734.. than I've been with any other over the past 4 or 5 years.  I think the p/j config suits me. I played a fender pj for most of my playing life but got rid and have since been going through basses like hot dinners!

Playing wise and sound wise it's awesome. I'm not massively in love with the matt black finish.. but that's not enough to move it on.

  6. Had a mox over the years, never had a break on the side facing output. Had one break on the front facing output when my drummer stepped backwards off the drum riser and stood right on the lead. Cracked the pickgaurd and pushed the whole lead out jack into the cavity at a weird angle.

Moral of the story. Unplug whenever possible nomatter where the jack is!

  7. That's me finally purchased a C4. I've recently went through the Boss Sy-1 and the EH mono bass pedal. The boss tracked incredibly and some of the paddy sounds were excellent, but not quite the sounds i was wanting. The EH mono synth again tracked great, but covered a sound I wasnt really going for.

Played with the C4 for a wee while last night and this morning. Tracking isn't as good I dont think, although I'm assuming it's doing ALOT more in terms of processing than the other two pedals. I'm a very clean player so i don't know how sloppy players could get anything out this! Sound wise though it's great. Covers more of that 80's and 90's bass tones. The software though is definitely something that I'll need to study up on!  I've mucked about with real synths and software synths in the past and never really properly understood them.. so a bit of e learning curve, for sure!

  8. Boxed with PSU. Looks pretty much perfect condition.

Took in as a part trade on basschat, but it's mm's too big for my board. Sounds great and with the easy wet dry blend knobs, it fits in a mix easily!

Not looking for any trades currently.
