It really is a fantastic time for multiFX. 

The Harley benton range from THomann are great. I used to Junior power one years ago which was great, although wouldn't suit your needs. I now use a Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-1AC. Never had an issue. It's reasonably low profile, and uses a kettle plus which is a benefit in my opinion. 5 outputs at 500ma, and if you need more you can just daisy chain another one.

Latest setup.

I briefly was using a nano+ with a few extra pedals however I've decided to go go back to basics. This is a cheapo case off amazon (think it's a case for a Canon printer) and the board is a bit of flooring painted black. 

The reason I've went this route is simply so it fits into the front pocket of my bass case!

EDIT: the Stomp looks like its not straight in the photo. It is.  Plus. the power adapter fits in the case too. Should've shown that.

The best synth pedal I've used. So much fun, tracks well, and extremely powerful. I went through a lot of synth pedals and I've found this to be the best by a country mile. Annoyingly though, I'm needing to reduce my rig size down to HX stomp only, and i know this will just sit gathering dust now it's not longer on a pedal board so it needs to be moved on.

Velcro on the bottom. Excellent condition barring a few microscopic paint chips. Works flawlessly.  Comes boxed, with control cable, and usb cable.

Only trade would be for a newish generation multifx such as a mooer ge200, NUX mg300, or similar- needs to be 3 buttons, and newish - wee bit of money your way

i use the millenium passive one off thomann. think it's £11. Use it all the time for a variety of things. Never once thought that it's not up to the job- and its relatively wee!

I'm fine with colours or brands/models. Or things like 'the 6 string' or 'the medium scale'.... something descriptive.  Calling your bass by a proper noun is pretentious as flip, and cringey. Even referring to it as a she is bad enough.

I will happily never use an amp again. The enjoyment of a gig can often be ruined purely on the basis that I need to somehow transport a bass rig to the venue and back home. All for the sake of a bit of stage sound. I'm in the dep scene and pretty much every band I'm out with run IEMs. Not only does it make monitoring much more exact, it just makes the band sound better out front. Everyone wins. Ok,. you might lose a tiny bit of feel, and it can sound a bit clinical, but I'll happily give that up for the massive benefits. 

I think the zoom synth stuff sounds better than the ones in my helix! In fact, If my Helix broke, I would happily go back to a b3n!

I can honestly say none of my amps have particularly stood out, sound wise. In fact, I prefer quite a bland tone so if anything, an amp with a bit of character is probably a bad thing for me.  I think for pure clean volume, I'd say my Hartke lh500 phase is quite memorable - barely had to wiggle the volume knob to get outrageous volume. But  I loved my Carvin mb10 before it died purely for size and weight. Worked perfectly as a monitor. I'll probably convert this into a single 1x10 cab and maybe pick up a micro head.

I think from memory my history has been:

Carslbro Stingray 15" (combo) - dismantled to get the amp and speaker for a project which never happened.

Behringer BX1200 (combo) - sold to a pal

Behringer BX3000 (used with a Behringer 1x15 and for a short period a thomann own brand 4x10) - broke, not worth fixing

Ashdown Mag300 (used with the behringer 1x15 then later a PA sub cab with the behringer speaker swapped in and the crossover or high pass gubbins removed) - broke numerous times, sold as spare/repair

Hartke lh500 (with the PA sub cab) - sold

Ampeg pf350 (with the PA sub cab) - broke, refunded on warranty

Markbass little mark 250 (with the PA sub) - sold

Carvin mb10 (on its own or with the pa sub as extension) - broke

Trace Elliot GP7 7215 (combo) -present but never used

Nothing exotic, and nothing 'valvey'. I think once i realised you can get away without an amp, I did it.

Everything flat.

Sorry for the old thread resurrection.

I'm also considering the l-12 just now. One big question would be the quality and volume of the headphone output, for those who've used one.  Can they go loud and remain clean? The l12 is winning over other digital mixers currently purely on the basis that theres no need for a seperate headphone amp, but obviously, if the internal headphone amps are a bit stinky poo then it kinda defeats the purpose!

I'm a stomp user, and have no intentions of changing as it's exactly what I need for guitar and bass. Before this I was a zoom user which were great for bass, and i would be happy to gig with a zoom to this day. I want the full set up via the fx box.... amp and cab sims etc. 

However, I'm quite intrigued about the cheapo ones that are popping up, from NUX, Mooer and Harley Benton etc. Wonder how they are racking up. My singer/guitarist could be doing with a basic 3 button multiFX modeller.. ie 3 buttons clean/dirt/heavy, to be able to DI, and I'm tempted to just pick a cheapo brand FX for a bit of fun just to give it a run out!

The answer is pretty obvious. do it. if its detriment to the rest of the sound then dial it back.  

Id go to Guitar Guitar in Glasgow and buy the G&L Tribute JB-2 thats down from 349 to 299. On the basis that I've yet to try a G&L Tribute, and everyone seems to rave about them, plus I'm a sucker for a deal.

Compressor smooths everything out for excellent Octave tracking. The Thumpinator then kills everything under 25hz so I can still play the lowest notes on my bass without turning the Octave off. The Thumpinator won't let it through to my amp. Idea stolen from Dusty Hill rig rundown.

That's awful in my view. I feel really sad that so much work has been put into that and they're version adds nothing to the song; it detracts. This is your classic situation of lazy musicians thinking that slowing something down and playing it acoustically will instantly make the song more heart felt and meaningful. I'm all for reworking old tunes, and there's a definite art to it, but this is uninspiring.

A wee warm up show at the Glasgow HMV, ahead of a big show case we're doing next week.  Definitely had the vibes of a gig you'd expect to be doing in your teens, plus it was done at quite a significant financial loss, but hey ho.  Zero monitoring either, sounded OK out front though.

This is my main bass and I've found no neck diving issues!

I must admit, it sits in active mode but flat EQ for 99% of the time, along with the pup blend being 50/50. So, it's probably a bit sophisticated for my needs too. But it's very comfortable to play, and sounds what I want a bass to sound like on it's basic settings, so this will be my #1 for the foreseeable.
