  1. KZ as10's for in ear monitoring. I bought these on a whim as I've been using the kz zs10s (non pro) for years and loved them, and thought id try another model with a slightly different frequency profile.  Bass sounds absolutely delicious and they don't muddy, which i find alot of headphones do.  Problem with this style though is i find them a bit of a faff putting them off and on so they're not ideal for home use.. especially with the foam inserts i use - takes 5-10 seconds per ear.

  2. +1 for the SY1. Only had it for a short period of time, and never used it live but i was mightily impressed with the organ sound and the tracking. Can't remember it doing that grindy hammond sound that Lord had, but i'm sure mixed with a few other pedals, you could come up with something!

  3. I'm not a GNR fan boy but like the early stuff, and I actually quite like Chinese Democracy. This sounds very much like the dregs of their musical ideas.

Plus. that's not how Axl sounds now. That's just a complete fabrication.

  4. Great wee set up.

Case is in pretty much perfect condition. Board has velcro attached, and has larger feet attached to fit the power supply underneath (although these are held on by friction so can be removed easily) Power supply in perfect condition although its got double sided sticky tape on it to keep it secure. Great wee set up, comes with a few cables to, so you're pretty much ready just to connect up your pedals to it. Id prefer to sell together as they fit quite nicely. Purchased start of the year for a wee project, but didn't come to much, so this is now surplus to requirements. I have the box for the power supply. To buy the two items brand new, it would be £110 plus shipping, so grab a bargain.

No idea what posting will be but lets say a tenner. (UK)

  5. I gig with a HX stomp, but I've went through alot of the zoom stuff. The MS60b is a genius bit of kit. For my function gigs, id happily use my ms60b. Obviously you need to be a bit more realistic with how its used over the 3 pedal stomp but from sound alone, you'll be happy.

  6. I use a Protection Racket Bass Guitar Case Deluxe. semi hard case for the bass, and a big enough pocket for my small pedal board (in its own case) and cables, then an additional pocket for some basic essentials (lube and condoms etc)

It's on the bulky side but nowhere near as heavy as a proper hard case. and the big pocket at the front means i i can normally get away without carrying an extra case... which I love.

Aye, first thing I do is when i pick up a nikki Sixx signature model is slap with it. honestly does my nut in. Slap probably makes up 1% of all bass playing but yet reviews like this are all about the reviewer showing off their slap chops.

    5W. No fan at all.

It's the perfect lounge amp, and it's plenty loud enough in the lounge too - in fact stick it into something high end like a Barefaced Super Twin and it is hilariously loud!

I owned a guitar version of one of these, can't remember exactly what it was modelled around, but it was spectacular! Stuck it through a cheapo 4x12 and it went LOUD! I'll need to try one of the bass ones at some point!

I have one, actually. But for that project, I only use one patch so I don't really need it. The thing about the polytune is that I don't really like the tuner of the HX and I prefer to have a third switch rather than a tuner.

Interesting. Ive heard alot of folk disliking the stomp tuner. Honestly, I can't find any fault with it!

  10. I've only changed pickup on one bass, and there was a tiny change in sound, but it wasn't enough for to consider it a massive upgrade. I've never upgraded a pre, but if I were in your shoes, i'd be tempted to try that first- The B5s are great though, ive played one and can't remember thinking it sounding not so great.

^ I picked up an MB15 for £25... a year or so latter i came a cross an MB30 with Rocksolid cover for £35.

So had that and the MB15 was passed on via my eldest.

Sometimes these appear for daft money.

Picked up a Laney GC 30 on Faceache as a freebie as intermittent faulty.

Good clean of the pots and all is well.

Again great sounding lound practice amp

I think the marshall bass amp range in general is underrated!

  12. Just in case this helps anyone. I've been using kz zs10s (non pro version) for a few years now. Love them, sound is very flat which works well for IEMs. I recently purchased the kz AS10s as a wee treat to myself thinking they will be an upgrade. I've A/B'd them and I can confirm that the as10s have a slight more 'smiley face' EQ feel to them, but not an in your face type EQ: still reasonably flat.. They work equally well as IEMs. Can't say I can tell any significant sound quality improvement. So the conclusion is, If i lost both pairs, id probably replace them with a set of the cheaper zs10s.

They're the exact ones I use. They';re excellent. IME the key is to follow the instructions... squash then hold in place a few seconds to let them expand again. They never fall out, provide superb isolation, and make the IEMs sound vastly better. I do go through them quite quickly though cos they're quite fragile, but then again, you buy them in bulk, so it's probably to be expected.

    I have 3 Digitech BSW.

I've owned 3, but none at the same time. I wonder if folk are actually buying them for the prices they're going up for these days! think i sold all mine in the 20 to 30 quid range
