  1. Thanks @Jack that's really helpful
  2. Hope you don't mind me piggybacking your thread Gunsfreddy. If I have a passive p bass, but run through a Cali 76 18v comp pedal, should I look for a passive rather than active DI box? Thanks
  3. First Bass Owned: Squier Jazz 'Go To' Bass: Fender Japan FSR 70s Jazz with PJ pickups 'Your' Bass: Fender Japan FSR 70s Jazz with PJ pickups with the J pickup volume all the way down
  4. Folks, now is probably a good time to announce that due to unforseen circumstances, the release of my fantastic new song, "Bernadette", has been delayed
  5. We've got a rehearsal tomorrow night so I'll give it a go. 80-90% of the time will be on the vintage channel, but we've got a couple of rockier ones that I may try using the overdrive channel
  6. Clearly the Tonehammer 500 was too convenient: plenty of power and a nice tone in a package that fits comfortably in a small rucksack. So, it's new amp day, and along has come a Fender Bassman 800. Looking forward to trying it out on anger at the weekend rehearsal. In the meantime, if you want a Tonehammer 500 or EBS Reidmar 250, there are some nice ones in the classifieds
  7. Aguilar Tonehammer 500 head, reduced to £425 Excellent condition, purchased in 2022 from @mattbass6 here, and not gigged by me. 500 watts in to 4 ohms and a great warm sound. Comes with Aguilar bag. Let me know if you have any questions
  8. EBS Reidmar 250 head for sale. Now £149 250 watts to 4 ohms and surprisingly loud. Purchased from Linus27 on here and has had use at home only. It's in very good condition. Let me know if you have any questions
  9. Going back to the click thing, we did use one and the engineer enforced it ruthlessly. It gave our drummer a tough time, but it made day two so much easier
  10. Bravo! Enjoyed that.
  11. The price still looks competitive against the ones on Reverb
  12. Thanks, yes they really looked after us.
  13. Wait, what? There's a dressing room?
  14. Absolutely, time to start looking for the next one
  15. My first gig ever, at the age of 54. Wow, what a buzz Brickmakers Arms, Norwich
  16. Hi, thanks for asking. Pretty much everything I was told on here was correct and useful. I made more playing mistakes in the first hour than I had in the previous year, but settled into it and ended up not having to redo any of my parts (guitar and vocals can't say that). Will need to get the six songs we recorded and mixed over the three days on to Bandcamp.
  17. Thanks again everyone for the advice, it was really helpful
  18. Thanks folks
