  1. Ordered this back in May and it's finally come through. Very pleased with it. Just waiting for the case now
  2. I spent ages coming up with something clever for a Norfolk based politically-progressive country band. The rest of them hated it so we're named after the beer we were drinking during the discussion
  3. I could do you a special deal on your old Reidmar if you'd like to buy it back?
  4. Michael, I could do you a special deal on a Reidmar. Can't vouch for the guy that had it before me, but I've taken good care of it
  5. This, very much. Though I'd call it a day when Berry does.
  6. If we're on cheese, I'll add the Faces' classic: Under dreaming spires To Itchycoo Park, that's where I've been I got high (What did you feel there?) well, I cried (We'll try the cheese there) tell you why
  7. The silks are black, which I think is correct for the Deep Talking Flats? They're free to a good home if anyone wants to try them
  8. I'll second this. Many thanks to @Reggaebass top bloke πŸ‘
  9. That's really kind of you πŸ‘ I'll drop you a message
  10. I think it would take more than that to make me even a mediocre player!
  11. Indeed! I suspect the set of La Bellas I have is defective given what others have said on here.
  12. Good question. I've just checked and they're 45-105 too, so I wonder if I have a rogue set Maybe not fair to try selling them
  13. Thanks everyone, much appreciated
  14. Wow that was quick! Many thanks πŸ‘
  15. Bit of background: I've always had just one bass, but after it simply stopped working at a rehearsal on Sunday I'm going to get a backup. Most basses seem to come with roundwood strings, but I'll want to change these to flats as soon as possible. But which ones? I know the strings on my current bass are 45 - 105, but have no idea what make they are as they were already fitted when I got it. The silks are red but that's as much as I know. I'd happily get another set if I knew what they are. I did try a set of La Bella Deep Talking Flats, but they were very low tension and I didn't get on with them at all. They're still sitting around somewhere but I'd prefer not to use them. So, what would you recommend for a higher tension set of flats? It's for country rock on a precision. Thanks for persevering through my ramblings. Andy
  16. Yeah, there are some really helpful people on here
  17. I've just bought an Aguilar TH500 from Matt. He was a pleasure to deal with: excellent quick communication and a really speedy, safely packed delivery. Many thanks Matt πŸ‘

  19. Off the top of my head and in no particular order: 1. More than four knobs (ideally no more than three) 2. More than four strings 3. Single cut-away 4. Wooden pick-up covers 5. Pointy bits 6. Fanned frets 7. LEDs 8. Headless 9. Gold hardware Oh, and fretless, because I'm not good enough a player for one of those
  20. A while back someone put up for sale a Pelham blue Jack Casady, with a hard case and upgraded bridge. I think it even had flats, damnit. Perfect. I saw it and made a mental note to message the owner when I got home. In the intervening two hours of course it sold.
