  1. Great. Now you've got me shopping for Bongos... 😆
  2. Never mind the original question 😄, how do speakers manage to produce all those different sounds all at once?
  3. I think I've figured it out. We'll find out on Thursday... at band practice... 😬
  4. So does anyone have a decent transcription for this, in Drop D?
  5. Will do... I'm going to get in touch with the seller, as well...😬
  6. Oh, bugger. It appears to be an odd thread, as well. I've tried four slightly longer ones, and although they will wind in a bit by hand, they stop a couple of turns in.
  7. I managed to buy one off Ebay, and got it on the bass but I can't adjust the screw enough to bring the drop tuning up to D? The highest it will go is C sharp. I've attached links to two photos. The first is in the E position, the second is in the dropped position. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yRntJ9p4Kfx0muQV0Cf9Xtn2_v1jh1GX/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1B6tpkuo_tzqWOUF3M6PPnvROfRKvBED9/view?usp=sharing Have I installed it correctly? Do I just need a longer screw?
  8. Hmmm... anyone got a hipshot drop tuner they want to sell?
  9. We haven't got a name, yet... But we're the racket of pub classics coming out of Studio 1. 😆
  10. We're normally up in Cathedral on Thursdays. Did you nab our spot? 😄
  11. I can't either, but I pause it and then try to work it out from whichever dot I know on the day... lol
  12. Thank you. That's confirmed my understanding. 😋
  13. I've just bought a very cheap Ibanez SRX 390 on Ebay, and after a little maintenance it's sounding quite nice. It has a battery, and therefore I had assumed it's an active bass. However I've found a 2008 catalogue that suggests that it has "extra powerful PASSIVE full range pickups". It has high and low equalisers, so is the battery just running these? Link to catalogue: The reason I'm asking is, our rehearsal room has a Hartke amp, with two inputs - one passive, one active. So which one should I be plugging this bass in to? Sorry for the silly question, but It's all electrickery to me!
  14. Join my Band has lead to some interesting experiences, for me. I'm sure there's a thread for that...
  15. So, apart from No. 1, what's the problem? Just had a message from my drummer tonight. He actually appreciates a song choice I've made... I had previously been banned from making song choices... there is hope yet.
  16. I'm 48 and relatively new to this, so what do I need to know?
  17. Would it be a bad idea to do Smack My beach Up, in a pub gig?
  18. I thought I had a problem with 12. But it seems I could do with a few more.
  19. I'm convinced that when stings go dull, it's mostly because of the flat spots that are created in contact with the frets, not the actual accumulation of dirt in the string... Any fretless people have a view on this?
  20. Nanyo is now set to max treble, and a little bass, and I have plenty of overdrive... Why couldn't I find that setting with my frantic knob twiddling last night? lol
  21. Errrmm, Nanyo had no treble on. Who would have thought lack of treble would lead to such a drastic reduction in overdrive?
