  1. Is the First Friday of the month, so we put out another tune today.
  2. Another new tune unencumbered with vocals and featuring lots of widdling guitar for your enjoyment.
  3. Our latest release, Over & Out, draws on our Dio/Rainbow influences, maybe a bit too much, or maybe not, you can decide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYitutPcGac
  4. Living Daylights for me, love the film, the song and Dalton is my favourite Bond. The only downer about that movie for me was the tie in computer game on the ZX Spectrum, no matter how many times I tried, I could never get past the first level.
  5. Song has now appeared on YouTube for your listening pleasure ...
  6. For those that like the bass guitar prominent in the mix, then the new instrumental track from our lead guitar, Liam Kane, could be for you. Available on all the digital platforms except YouTube for some reason, hopefully it will appear there soon. 7. In the main I am still purchasing CDs, which I do listen to on the hi-fi at home or in the car, as it is still old enough to have a player. Then I also rip them for my MP3 player for use when out, particularly in the gym. As I don’t want to have to connect to the internet to listen to music while out and about, and I don’t really want my smartphone in my pocket as I’m working out. Which means I am slightly concerned that my choices of MP3 player is going to diminish during the next few years as industry seems to think everyone is happy to listen to music Through their phone. As for the streaming platforms, I do have a free Spotify account and listen to it quite regularly when I am on the laptop and online for some reason. On Spotify I either listen to different music that I don’t like enough to purchase, or bands I do like are making a bit more money out of me where I have bought the CD, and occasionally listen to it online as well.
  8. Our debut album, Daredevil on the Shore, celebrates its 15th Anniversary today. If you fancy checking out the title track, then here is a video of us on Seacliff Beach in North Berwick, East Lothian, with the Bass Rock and Tantallon Castle acting as a backdrop, as we pantomime along to the song.
  9. It is again the first Friday of the month, so have stuck out a couple of tunes into the digital world.
  10. My band did a song about a not very good dentist who we reimagined as serial killer ...
  11. It is again the First Friday of the Month, so some new music from us, this time an instrumental track from our lead guitarist, we of course do not recommend that you commit Geometric Suicide ...
  12. The Huey Lewis cover of the Phil Lynott tune, Giving It All Up For Love. Verse and Chorus are easy enough, but the solo section is currently well above my pay grade ...
  13. We've put out a new two track release which includes a cover of the Judas Priest classic, Beyond the Realms of Death. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdng_B2B2A8
  14. Our lead guitarist, Liam Kane, has put out his second solo single, Valley of the Kings. So if you like your music to be unencumbered by a vocalist, then this might be a tune to your liking.
  15. Family Tree by Megadeth I think is a great piece of music, with a really cool bassline. But the subject matter of abuse in the lyrics I find quite uncomfortable to listen to, so I do usually hit the skip button when that track gets to the chorus.
  16. We have released our latest album to all the major digital platforms today (CD a bit delayed, but should be available sometime next week). First track, 24 Hours of Freedom, features a guest vocal from Blaze Bayley and a solo on the Hammond Organ from Derek Sherinian.
  17. My taste in music was pretty much influenced by what my friends listened to in their late teens / early 20s. Thus I initially went to gigs with them. Then I got into bands in the genre of music I like, rock / metal, which meant a bigger circle of friends with similar tastes in music, and more people to attend gigs with. But there has been times when I have ventured to gigs on my own, Status Quo was the band I struggled with the most over the year to get folk to come along with me. Though when I did manage to drag someone along they invariably did enjoy it.
  18. Bought a Charvel bass for £200 back in 1994 and it is the only bass I currently own.
  19. We, Vantage Point, have backed fellow Edinburgh based singer, Mercy Breheny on her new solo single, 24 Hour Breakdown.
  20. Our latest single is now out and available to stream on the digital platform of your choice, well unless your choice is YouTube or Soundcloud as it doesn't seem to have appeared there yet ... The song is also due for inclusion on our forthcoming album, Alternative View. 24. New video for the song Zombie Train, a track about the commute to work I no longer have to endure since CoVid has had me working from home for the last two years.
  25. Had a go at creating an animated video for one of our old songs. Used Vyond, I think the main purpose for it is to do work presentations, but seems to have enough options to be able to produce a few videos for out songs.
